I love giving troll gifts and fooling my two younger brothers when it comes time to open presents, regardless of the occasion. It's all in good fun, and they always are eager to see what I can come up with next.
For Christmas, here's what I've set up so far:
For one of my brothers (he's 19), instead of buying him a "Merry Christmas" card, I bought him a random "Congratulations on your adoption!" card, and taped this picture on the inside:
+ Show Spoiler +
Yes, his favorite SC2 player is Sheth
I then bought him a ridiculous variety pack of condoms and some other cheap NSFW products, put them in a box, put that box in a box, put that box in a box, and put that box in a box. Four boxes total, each one individually wrapped in wrapping paper. On the outside of the smallest box, I taped two giant trollfaces.
For the youngest brother (he's 17), I bought him a "Congratulations, you're 3!" Disney princess birthday card, and the new TL Zerg shirt he asked me for. However, I'm going to remove the TL shirt and throw in an undershirt instead (dirty? ketchup-stained? haven't figured it out completely yet). Then afterwards I'll probably hand him the Zerg shirt
Man, I love the holidays ♥
EDIT: Almost at 10K posts- no idea if I should do anything special for that o.o

anyway, nice gifts haha. Sounds fun :D

Taken from your exact source:
"In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory,[2] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[3] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.[4] The noun troll may refer to the provocative message itself, as in: "That was an excellent troll you posted"."
The gifts I give my brothers are absolutely extraneous (extra boxes?), provocative (random condoms?), and off-topic (the wrong shirt?), and they certainly intend to provoke an emotional response, all the while I'm pretending to be serious as they open it. Trolling certainly doesn't apply to just online rhetoric.
But for what it's worth, I would definitely say that the term "trolling" has definitely become a colloquialism that is synonymous with "joking"... and so if you don't like my use of the word "troll", that's okay

::shrugs:: I enjoy reading TL and engaging in discussions on the threads. I've never really not done something because I didn't have the time (even though I generally have a busy schedule). I just... make time and fit all my stuff in.

Make sure to write ZERG with a sharpie on the dirty shirt so he knows what it's supposed to be.
edit: also I would call this a prank as trolling pertains to the internet.

edit: Not that I'm calling you a spammer, just think I have to step my game up.

That's actually a really good idea! I think I'll do a terrible, half-assed Zerg icon drawing in black sharpie, and scribble something silly like "Zerg" above it and "For the Sworm [sic]" below it :D Mwahahaha!!!

Once for my friends birthday, we all pitched in and bought him garden hoe, a checkered piggy bank, a gamecube without a controller and some lube. Best present ever.

Not trolling but I got my friend a poem book by Sylvia Plath but there is nothing he thinks is more stupid than poetry. My other friend I gave her a picture of some puppies and a 5 thousand word letter explaining why the picture is actually an insult to her dignity. Other friend is getting some new age hippie religion holy book when he is a heavy christian.

A few years ago, I recall somebody I know unwrapping a Wii box from his parents only to find it full of napkins from Subway. They ended up giving him the Wii that as inside the box a few hours later.
A reverse troll of sorts, I opened unwrapped a box of fruit when I was in fourth grade. Inside was a Gamecube with SSBM and Pikmin.

We clubbed together (only in carrying, not financially) to buy my friend ~40L of mineral water for his 18th birthday.
