Yeah it's the same guy. Only time Chill liked some theorycraft, then no one proceeds to use it.

Makes me wish I was part of the community back then. I'm fairly familiar with all the references, but it's not the same as actually experiencing it.

SC2 will never be like Broodwar. I think it's fun, and I'm looking forward to following the scene and I hope it grows and flourishes. But honestly, it just doesn't have the same BW magic for a lot of reasons. I won't begin to enumerate them, because as a stand alone game- SC2 is really good. But as a replacement for BW it just doesn't stack up. Too bad the graphics were just a few years too early to really hold up in the HD era- but I guess we should all be glad that the whole scene was just so unique and exciting to watch. A real treat for anyone who was following. (And still is... of course)

I like how you incorporated ESPN's 30 for 30 trailer style, pretty good.

This was awesome. What I wouldn't do to actually see full features on all of these.

Nothing is ever the same, but I think that in the end, it is the players and the community that made BW great. By us remembering and watching the story lines and the games, BW will always live. In the end though, after years and years, SC2 will have its own life along with its own stories.
When SC3 comes along, we will be making videos like this for SC2 and some of us will be crying at the history of the thing that we love. I have watched this vid multiple times and the more I watch, the more amazed I am. I was not around for most of this (yeah, I played since SC1 Vanilla, but was unaware of the community and scene until the last couple years) but since joining up I have learned a lot about the BW history. As a baseball fan, I know the history and the past story lines are what make the game great.
I am sorry BW fans for the days that may soon come, but in the end these videos, tributes, and remembrances will always be there.

Its all there in the tlpd, as well as the forum posts. The savior vs bisu live report thread is especially good. Hopefully the video can get people to dig around a bit. Watching the boxer vs iloveoov finals is amazing even today.

god i remember watching the blackout game live on some horrible korean stream. and since i dont know korean i had no freaking clue what the kespa lady said. i sat here for an hour freaking out. epic times were epic /tear BW

The outage that happened in that Flash v Jaedong match- where Zerg was defending the lower left with Dark Swarms, Lings and Ultras, while Flash was taking a third- was easily one of the most epic ZvT's I've ever seen. The fact that this game did not conclude was an absolute tragedy.
(It was Flashes "hand warmer" heater that kicked on, and aced some circuit breaker or something- in that match where MBC didn't even have a stage but a Blue Screen room for the players to play in... man... talk about an epic fail in all aspects of presentation.)

Somehow i now want to go back to 2006 and relive all of this.

MSL 2052. MSL Forever! I can't let myself believe that the BW professional scene will end, that SC2 will take its place... because it would just leave me incredibly saddened. SC2 is good, but I have so many magical memories watching BW on TV in Korea, not knowing a lot about the game but being incredibly fascinated by the game and it's players who I began to recognize and admire. How much depth there was to it in comparison to my single player experiences. How... just cool it was!
...thanks for the video. it leaves me a little teary eyed...

Kinda sad when u think about it, once bw is gone I don't even think I'll watch any esport, bw keeps me here on TL, so I watch sc2 quite a bit cuz its here.. but I never really look forward to it like I do bw.
Hope this season is good T_T.
