This and number 2. Oh and the entire dragon warrior/quest monsters series (but someone else already posted that). Had the most involving breeding system EVER. Joker and Joker 2 is good but DWM 1 for sure was the best.

Don't think words can describe the hours of fun I had completing this RPG. Oh..... and let's not forget the second one! (not as good but not bad by any means!)

The only people I know who actually played this game were friends of mine that I let borrow my steam account. It was so much fun.

The idea is that even though there will be "not as hidden" games, there will be only a few as they will weed themselves off and awesome posters like you of course will keep putting the real gems in. I won't add obviously not hidden games but if I can see where someone not as hardcore as say you or me might not know about it. I'll add it.

Really happy to see Jet Set Radio Future on the list, played that game for hrs upon hrs till I had 100% and when my brother traded the disk ordered another one. Really great it's a shame it's bugged out on the 360 never could 100% it again. Would like to add Tyrian, was an old school 2D arcade style ship game all space bandits and stuff was really good. Not sure how to link pictures though :/

This game was an isometric RPG for the Mega Drive/Genesis, incredible for it's time. The world was huge and everything could be explored, considering the quality of other famous RPG's at the time this was definitely an under-rated game. There is a lets play on youtube that clocks in at roughly 500 hours (just guessing but it has over 50 videos at roughly 10 minutes each) which was just immense scale back in that day! The best thing about the game is that it was completely open ended. You could kill any NPC (regardless if you find out later that it was actually an important Quest NPC and you couldn't continue your journey) or check any bookshelf/chest for hidden items... And there was absolutely no false limitation, no blocked off areas, nothing could stop you from going anywhere except the amount of food you had and your level. Completely under-rated game. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rings_of_Power_(video_game) here's a link to a map of the world: http://caverider.com/temp/rings_of_power_genesis_world_map.png just to get an idea of how big im talking about.

(not as good but not bad by any means!) The sequel to this for the DS was such a disappointment too much hand holding and the boss fights all felt really easy hopefully the 2nd half of it is a bit better. Golden Sun : Dark dawn (I think) it's the story of the original heroes kids.

This is a really interesting PC strategy game; it's more of an 'explore and enjoy the atmosphere' kind of game with an endgoal. I played this quite a bit when I was a kid . Probably the best storyline I've ever seen in an RPG. Probably my favorite Zelda game still, but one of the less known. Really neat Action game where you customize your robot to do missions and destroy stuff to earn cash and buy more parts. Another robot customization game, except in the Fighting genre . Horror game, very tricky, freaky, and trollish at the same time.

This is basically a very well done 2D minecraft, by an independent developer. The game is a sidescroller RPG in a sandbox-esque gameplay. Other major differences are... (A few gameplay spoilers) + Show Spoiler + The lighting system works in a way that when things are well lit, you can see a few blocks deep. It also has a more defined goal than just "do whatever the fuck you want." Your goal is to gain access to higher tiered armor and weapons in order to purify the world of evil by killing the bosses. There's also a dungeon and "corruption" which is basically just evil overworld. Frankly, I like this game better minecraft. The objectives and game progression is way more defined than minecraft. Instead of just throwing you into a world and giving no indication of how to do anything, why, or what things are, Terraria gives you a "Guide" NPC and a less clunky GUI. In addition, the character creation is way more sleek. You don't have to go out of your way to customize. Anyway, great game. Addicting, and IMO better than minecraft in terms of sandbox gameplay. Oh! I forgot to mention, this game is under computer RPG's, but may be considered "other" because the character you play is completely up to you and the gameplay is sandbox-esque.
