No, this is not a joke/trolling thread. We don't need more filler posts asking if it is. Remember to spoiler season 6 content, and clearly label your spoilers.

However, a few hours later and i'm fine as Chibithor talked about untill something more concrete and official about the exact nature of what is happened comes into the open I urge everyone to not get worked up about it. Edit: plus RPR_Tempest makes a good point i'd rather have fewer seasons of utmost quality than a longer series of declining quality as invariably happens in T.V shows that go on forever

I couldn't have my volume up (I'm at school) so I was wondering if anyone else got a glimpse of that and maybe what it means? Just wondering if Destiny was somewhat of a brony, trolling (as he is prone to do) or just checking it out for the sake of checking it out. Sorry i didn't get screencaps or anything. Passed by too quick I'd love to know more about this as I'm a big Destiny fan myself. Last I heard from him regarding ponies was him gawking at the existence of the thread here a few days after it was made with Kyle, wondering if it was a big troll. Maybe he just got linked to it from his chat, I dunno.

Let's just have a toast for a great series so far, and in hopes that it lasts as long as it needs to!

The main issue I see is if Rob(and maybe Lauren) left because Hasbro's trying to step in, which I can't see as being anything but bad.

Too bad they at Hasbro apparently don't want to believe us bronies are a serious part of the fandom; they're sticking very stubbornly to their proven demographic. I wonder what will make them believe if ever that we're legit; but they probably won't, as remember that for a lot of executives, well we probably just freak them out (one of them in the WSJ article did claim that they don't even think there are that many of us, and they also refused to admit who's buying their merch).

You'd think a company as old as Hasbro would realize denying stats isn't a good idea. >_> /r/mylittlepony is ranked 30th in activity, btw. http://redditlist.com/stats/mylittlepony?repostplz 11k subs while being under a year old. As much as we like these 26 episodes season (1 episode every 2 weeks of the year), that kind of work schedule can drag a show into the ground rapdily. There is not a lot of time to make each episode. I would actually say that by shortening the seasons, they increase it's longevity. They won't be forced to use stories that need more time to be good as a result of time constraints, and this gives a few more days for writing each episode. This also means, that instead of having say 16 okay episodes, and 10 good - great episodes. We could end up with 13 or so great episodes, because more time can be spent working on each one. Then those 16 episodes can be rolled into next season, and themselves become good - great episodes, because the idea's weren't forced ahead of time.

I do remember Jackie Chan Adventures being 13 episodes/season as well, and that show was really good too. I agree, if 13 episodes means a longer, continuously good series, as opposed to one that would end up dieing, I'm all into it. Also, for sometimes "waiting" between episodes when you know they are coming is really fun, as it gives time for people to generate SO MUCH content. So yeah, I have to agree that it can be a very good thing!

I'd say we should e-mail EqD (Submit@equestriadaily.com) about the idea of making a petition; somepony should write something that anypony can get behind, then gather many thousands of signatures; something like that would actually put some pressure onto Hasbro as they couldn't ignore something like that without making an official stance on bronies. Here's what I sent in (I'm running out of e-mail accounts): + Show Spoiler [Urgent request, regarding the potentia…] + Urgent request, regarding the potential uncertainty of the future of pony S3 and beyond! Regarding the rumours about S3 and the generally foreboding tone, some friends and I have suggested getting EqD involved in collecting a large list of names and personal essays detailing the value of FiM. And the potential for massive profits from the fanbase that Hasbro has so far seemed to ignore - to send to the higher-ups in Hasbro. The animation team likes us, but it's time to show the corporate office that bronies are a force to be reckoned with, and will gladly put our money where our mouths are. Please consider it; this idea seems to be one that EqD wishes to pursue. Best regards, edit: if you're going to send in an e-mail about it at this point, don't copy/paste mine

It has evolved into a standalone brand that doesn't need a TV show to sell toys. You could prove to Hasbro that 99% of the people watching the show are from a specific demographic, it still would not represent the demographic they are selling toys to. I'm willing to bet most of the toys sold are either for children that don't even know about the show or bought by parents who don't know anything about it. The MLP shows are simply a way to keep the name of the toy brand "out there" so it remains a token toy you buy for a random little girl.

To be fair it might've been more directed at the fact that someponies directly copy/pasted the same e-mail I sent in (which I've already sent in a couple of times myself), rather than at the petition idea. Still, I hope he got the message and will be willing to start a petition.

Hasbro will continue the series as long as it is selling toys (which it is) and as long as its ratings are holding up the Hub channel they co-own (which it does). DON'T PANIC

+ Show Spoiler + Applebloom finally gets her Cutie Mark! But joy turns to panic as she gets a second, then a third, then a dozen cutie marks. Rainbow Dash hosts a flying race to see who will be her pet. (Scootaloo?) A new masked hero arrives in Ponyville and is stealing Rainbow Dash's thunder. Rarity must choose between her friends and important social connections in Canterlot. Let's not worry about season 3. It's still a long time away =)
