No, this is not a joke/trolling thread. We don't need more filler posts asking if it is. Remember to spoiler season 6 content, and clearly label your spoilers.

The concern people had was that 13 episodes in season 3 also leaves The Hub with an ideal number of episodes for syndication if they stopped making the show.

So yes, there is a chance that season 3might be it, but i highly doubt that (i really do not see it happening with the brony community). I would say they are ordering the 13 episodes now to get the staff started, possibly even to lighten their work load to improve episode quality, and to give them a buffer to look at ratings for the second season. Should the show continue i would expect to hear about them ordering an additional 7 - 13 episodes (or not, just to give the workers a small break), at roughly episode 12 of season 2. Hasbro may have seen season 1 as some kind of fluke, and they don't want to spend more money than they would make by ordering 26 episodes that would go unwatched. From a business perspective, it makes more sense to only order the minimum episodes, until they're certain of the ROI. TL;DR - Hasbro doesn't want to count their chickens before they hatch. Just calm down, and wait a few months for the news of additional episodes being made. Everything will be fine.

If the show looks like it's plummeting due to a lack of interest, then from a business standpoint it would have been a waste of money to make 13 more episodes than were necessary. When they could have ordered 13 for syndication. That... is actually comforting. I didn't think of it from this point of view, thanks for that. Now I can sleep! :D Also, check today's drawfriend: http://www.equestriadaily.com/2011/11/drawfriend-stuff-240.html There are too many images to just link the ones I like the best.

On a related note, failed conversion today. In retrospect he is kind of a pseudo-intellectual so I'm not surprised that he's closed minded.

I remember liking powerpuff girls myself, I guess some people just don't grow out of adorable cartoons as fast as others. ^__^ You don't 'grow out' of MLP. This cartoon is appealing to all ages. We're not people who haven't grown up. We're people who enjoy a show because it's good.
