Or maybe you guys just have too much time on your hands. i get that you dont care man, its cool, but some people really care about e-sports and this can be a huge problem with that. Dont bash on people who feel strongly about these things, its just not nice I really hope that things like this dont happen in the future and this guy never gets to run a event again

The fact that IPL pulled support and no one watches his stream anymore or people hate him, is hardly being accountable for his actions. That thousands of dollars is all he's going to get though. Think of how much legitimate tournaments stand to make. He's screwing his long term earnings for a tiny short term gain. He's getting a golden egg when he could have had the whole damn goose.

Lynching the man is definitely an overreaction: His actions (from what information has come out so far) have been disgusting and possibly illegal (not very familiar with Filipino law), but let's not advocate extrajudicial murder. But we do need to hold him and his organization accountable: IPL should try to get its money back, cut ties, and have him and his organization compensate the players and fans that this man and his organization wronged or scammed.

http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/forum/topic/374722123 Q: Why does Blizzard Entertainment require a license to run a tournament? A: There are several reasons why we require a license. The licensing system allows us to help monitor and promote ongoing events, and to encourage more players to participate in community tournaments. Additionally, the licensing system allows Blizzard to verify that our games are used properly and protects our intellectual property. Q: Are there any fees associated with acquiring a StarCraft II tournament license? A: Tournament licenses are generally free. To protect our players, we may require that organizers adhere to additional rules and regulations if the organizer charges entry fees and/or intends to pay out large cash prizes. Q: How do I get a StarCraft II tournament license? A: Fill out the tournament form located here. ( http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/community/esports/ ) Most general tournament requests will be approved instantly. Additional review time may be required before the approval of a license request, depending on the scope of the tournament and the number of incoming requests. We appreciate your patience! Blizzard Entertainment has gone on the record stating that their licensing of their tournament scene was "[t]o protect our players" and "may require that organizers adhere to additional rules and regulations if the organizer charges entry fees and/or intends to pay out large cash prizes". Blizzard Entertainment put this onus on themselves and it's up to Blizzard Entertainment to prevent it from happening. The way they've designed their game, no other company or organization will ever have the control or influence necessary to prevent this from happening.

Creating another thread to rehash something that has already been discussed? Acting this outraged about some esports topic that isn't really important? It's becoming as common on TL as "ruining esports."

The question she asked was what is the first place prize. The total prize pool was the 7-9 thosand you speak of. Doesn't mean it was the worst event I've ever seen, just saying your making this sound like a conspiracy to embezzle money lol. Doesn't look like it... just looks like an asshat got the opportunity to run a tournament (somehow)

And that's a valid point, but you decided for some bizarre reason to frame it through the lens of "people care way too much about Starcraft" and "you guys have just too much time on your hands" both of which are irrelevant and thanks to the way you phrase it, passive aggressive and antagonistic. I do agree, their needs to be some kind of centralization of all these threads. But I also think this Gus fellow really does need to pay for fucking up a developing sc2 scene in the Phillipines so badly and abusing the trust of so many baller corporations and organizations.
