Huge steps and risks are necessary, but I hope that we have the permanent infrastructure in place before we take too big of a step (as per the payment issue). That way we always have something to fall back on should this not live up to expectations and fail. Still excited :D The esports scene doesn't depend on Youtube so i don't really see any problem there, it's doing quite well right now. The worst that could happen would be finding out that we reached our peak in viewers etc. That would hurt but it will happen at some point anyway.

I do also believe this is a much better step than the initial ESPN idea as it allows us to reach every corner of the globe instead of just us North Americans. This will allow us to extend to the maximum amount of viewers instead of just a segment of the globe. This will at least be a test of exactly how popular something like SC can be with the general public, or at least the part that frequents YouTube.

I hope in the future we can see more collaboration between the big players in the NA ESPORTS arena alongside major media outlets to push SC2 further into the mainstream.

The idea of twitch.tv chatrooms merging with YouTube comments is downright horrific.

Youtube does support streaming, doesn't it? So maybe, they won't be using twitch.tv.
