The only thing that's ever happened, at my parent's house when I was younger, someone threw some yogurt on a window...not really a big deal.

Halloween is only good for candy! Free candy at that. And November? Gives me an excuse to stuff my face guilt-free :D

I remember looooong time ago, I went trick or treating in an upper middle class neighborhood (small town in Massachussetts). All the houses were extremely generous, I got a lot of good candy (e.g. full-sized chocolate bars). Then there was this one house. No decorations, dim lights. When we knocked on the door an old lady came out. She stepped out quickly, gave everyone a single small-sized tootsie roll, and closed the door behind her. At the time I thought she was just a cheep assed old lady who hated kids and probably had 15 cats in the house. But now I kind of understand. People change perspectives and have different priorities as they grow older. Maybe she was on the last of her retirement funds. Maybe when she was younger she gave out a lot of candy, but as time went on and her bank account dwindled she gave out less and less, until that year we knocked on her door. For some reason my mind lumped you in along with that old lady. Halloween is a kid's holiday, and I'm all right with that, even if I'm too old to trick or treat. Don't think too hard about it, you'll just get gray hairs faster if you do.

Agree It drains all your energy. You get up, it's pitch black. You come home, it's pitch black. Goes on for 6 months.

I think you just need to move sounds like you'r life in Canada isn't all that anyways, try something warm I love Halloween though for all the reasons i named up there, getting to do all these things and not having to feel like a moron for doing them is great. And a lot of people enjoy meeting up in costumes and get drunk and do stupid things. Christmas just gets more and more sad every year because it seems like you'r getting shittier stuff every year but you'r actually getting the same thing except without the toys ( you know the socks/shirts/sweaters/underwear). Happy Halloween though I hope something good happens to every one here

Get some boots, a plaid jacket and some balls and go rake. Bring a girl, dress her up in something sexy (you can call it a costume) then fuck her in your pile of leaves.

Instead of going out and getting drunk, people dress up then go out and get drunk. Really, what's the point in that? Instead of just drinking, now I have to be in bulky/hot/unconforable clothing while I do it? During college I used to just put on a pair of aviator sun glasses and a fedora and say that I'd dressed up as a cool version of myself, that seemed to solve the issue partly. Idk, maybe I'm just a party pooper. But even when I was young I never found Halloween stuff scary. Terrorism, oil spills, government debt; now that's scary shit. You want to have a celebration of fear? Let's have "Stockpile of Thermo Nuclear ICBMs" day. On November 01 2011 01:43 MetalMarine wrote: You don't like all the girls in slutty costumes OP? Ugh, another reason to dislike Halloween. Somewhere the original idea of dressing up was transformed into dressing down. I'm sorry, a short skirt and cat ears does NOT MAKE A COSTUME. Why don't we just make the night into 'all slut's eve' and be dispense with the whole facade.
