You posted an extreme opinion in a public place, people disagreed. We don't suddenly hate you, we still like you just as much as before, we just disagree with you.

Reddit doesn't matter for shit. If they're wasn't a pro sc2 scene it r/starcraft wouldn't be shit or exist in any way at all. if there wasn't a sc2 scene tl would still be alive and kicking and love you all the same. So fuck them. You brought over MKP to MLG they couldn't do that with all the money in the world. You're the kickass guy who goes to MLG's and gets to hang out with the Koreans the whole weekend while the rest of us get to be jealous of you. You're the awesome guy that gives us tidbits on what the Korean fans are thinking. No one else does these things like you can do milkis. Just say fuck reddit and wash your hands of them. If thats how they are going to treat you after everything then fuck them you don't need them. How many of them will ever really get their face in front of 180k people watching and waiting on them? Please don't leave. You're so much better then all the other translators and I really want to see you at mlg and on your blog.

Of course she is pretty and she knows it, but she wants the attention and reassurance. I'm simply not going to give a grown man that type of reassurance. None of us need it nor deserve it. No, it's not at all. I have no idea how you've come away with such a poor understanding of my posts. I can't even begin to help you understand.

You brought this upon yourself, you know how people on the internet can be, and you shouldnt be surprised at what people are saying to be honest. Man up and be responsible, don't just go and hide once other people voice their opinions too. I really don't know Milkis as a person, but if anything i'd think he had pretty much made up his mind before making that thread. Now he's just using it as an excuse to punish the community that I believe he has been frustrated with for a long time. I do think he'll regret the way he went out, assuming he won't just return in a week, there isn't much grace in this departure.

Or imagine the shit storm if someone like Sir Scoots or Jason Lake suddenly made a post on TL about how much Starcraft sucks and how CS is the best game ever. If you basically trash or insult the passion of other people and tell them how they are inferior to you, you're going to get shit on for it.

Milkis could have posted that exact same thread on the TL BW forum, and it wouldn't have gotten nearly the kind of reaction that it did over on reddit. Yet he chose to make his point on the SC2 reddit, which is not as strictly moderated as TL and attracts a crowd of which only a small percentage have an interest in BW in the first place (much like TL SC2). It's kind of like coming over to my house and explaining in detail why every piece of furniture I have is terrible and how everything you own is superior. There's a reason people don't react friendly to behaviour like that. Nothing is forbidding you from doing it, but at least be reasonable in the expectations you have. If he posted it in TL SC2 forum, the reaction wouldn't be any better. Hell, the reactions to this very blog post (which is game "neutral" and it's a completely different topic anyway) aren't much better. Even if he posted it in the TL BW forum, do you really think people who disagree with him wouldn't read it anyway and respond to it much in the same way? That's optimistic to say the least. The bottom line is, Milkis is the kind of person who can post an informed and educated opinion on something, and has done enough for the community and been around long enough to warrant everyone who responds to first think long and hard before disagreeing, and even if they disagree to do it in a respectful manner. The bottom line is, there is no reason why he should expect or ignore the hate. If what drives him and gives him personal satisfaction to do his work is the community recognition and respect, then he has every right to complain and/or leave when he no longer receives it. And if people want him to stay, they should definitely come up with better arguments than "you should have expected it", "that's how it is", "deal with it", etc. Because at this point those arguments can only really reinforce his decision.

You chose to recognize the haters instead of all your supporters, and you rage quit? Rethink your analysis of this situation.

If a few "cunts" and "assholes" from a <1% vocal minority of 2 major communities can cause such an issue its best to walk away, do something else for a bit, and then decide if you want to try and be in the center of such communities again. Obviously any decisions made under duress are going to be thought about over and over. Let Milkis take his break, regain his mental composure, and decide if this is the right place for him. If he decides it is, he will come back (hopefully with a thicker skin and less caring of the trolls). If he decides it isn't, then his mental status will hopefully improve and he can go on to bigger and better things. I think both the people telling him to leave and the people telling him to stay are equally detrimental at this point. Telling him to leave will just make him feel worse and negatively affect an already bad situation. Telling him to stay may falsely alleviate the larger issue at hand for Milkis and cause him to come back without rethinking the situation. That will just lead to another breakdown in the future and the repetition of the process. I really do believe he just needs to take a step back, go over the whole situation, and decide to either jump back in or stay out for good depending on how he sees the entire thing from a much higher level view.

But you're wrong on your opinion. You got called out. You posted a controversial topic expecting backlash, got backlash, and now are quitting 'esports' because of it. Which really doesn't make sense, considering you just got done saying that BW was the only real esport but most of your work is not in BW. Heck, you posted a BW glory thread in a SC2 'forum'. What did you expect, honestly? You're not getting any sympathy from me. Thanks for all you've done; no thanks for being a drama queen.
