This has to be a joke. He posts a hateful and bias post, and then balls up and cries when no one agrees with him? Deletes his accounts and "quits" eSports? Wait, he didn't quit eSports since to him BW was the only eSport.
And you're all siding with him? What a drama queen. I don't care what amount of work you've done - I did appreciate you before this, but now I just look back on it all like a joke.
Don't worry. We'll replace you, and it'll be better without you. I don't say this because of the quality of your work, you threw all of that away when you decided you'd wake up this morning with a shitty attitude.

Don't do it Milkis. You posted it on reddit, and it's your opinion. If i were to go to r/atheism and post about my belief in God, I would be pelted with atheist propaganda and people trying to convert me and hate on me about my beliefs. It's the same with you and brood war. I respect your opinion as a Korean American and your love of Brood War and all it has done for today's eSports scene. But going into r/starcraft is the same as my analogy above. Would their hate and propaganda convert me to atheism? No. The same should be for you. You still love SC2 AND Brood War. Strengthen your resolve. People love you Milkis. You've brought so much joy to people throughout the years
If you decide to leave for good, it's your choice. But know that people here love and support you. The haters are a vocal minority. Don't let it get to you.

Milkis, everywhere you go people will behave poorly. Don't forget about the people who really appreciate what you've done for the community. I didn't know you weren't involved with MLG directly, and sort of stumbled onto all of this. That's fantastic man, you've done a lot for us. I really hope you'll reconsider.
99% of the hatred belongs to 1% of the community. I am the 99%, occupy Milkis' heart! <3

TL has definitely lost much of its etiquette and class over the last year. There's not a lot left that makes it unique any more. Saying that the "internet is evil, don't listen to it" or whatever is easy and you may think saying that makes you look mature or smart in a cynical way, but it really doesn't. Making even a small place on the internet NOT blend into that stereotype is extremely difficult, and not many people care enough to contribute to that anymore.
Milkis is one of those guys who made TL and symbolized the TL community for me, and also one of the rare people whose views on a lot of [s]e-sports[/e] Starcraft related things I can agree with. But I'm not going to ask him to reconsider his decision if he indeed made it, as I don't think TL really deserves guys like him anymore.
Just get a paid translator who will be a nobody with no opinions and will take any bashing in the world for a paycheck. That's the trend in ESPORTS nowadays anyway, isn't it? Professionalism! Yay. It's all about the context of the community you place it in tho.
Milkis could have posted that exact same thread on the TL BW forum, and it wouldn't have gotten nearly the kind of reaction that it did over on reddit. Yet he chose to make his point on the SC2 reddit, which is not as strictly moderated as TL and attracts a crowd of which only a small percentage have an interest in BW in the first place (much like TL SC2).
It's kind of like coming over to my house and explaining in detail why every piece of furniture I have is terrible and how everything you own is superior. There's a reason people don't react friendly to behaviour like that. Nothing is forbidding you from doing it, but at least be reasonable in the expectations you have.

Milkies your dedication has grown on me from watching you over the past year. I'm sure others are seeing what you're doing and feel the same way.
However, you are free to make your own decision and I'm sure the community will respect you either way. Good luck

Good luck with whatever you decide to do Milkis. Yes the world is indeed ending, BW is dieing, TL is apparently a nest of trolls and hate and valuable community members are leaving. Whatever shall we do. <__________________>
This is exactly the kind of stuff I'm talking about, thanks for the direct demonstration.

Hey, I appretiate all the work you've done but you're just being ridiculous. You post an extremly controversial opinion on a website with a userbase that most likely doesn't share your opinion. And then you're suddenly upset when people disagree with you or call you out? Shure, some people stepped across the line of what's acceptable but this is this the internet after all. Happens everywhere.

dont worry milkis, your daddy loves you. see you tomorrow.
Hmm this was my thought as well. I really don't want to come across as rude, but my thoughts yesterday were "I wonder if he will overreact to the situation and quit."
And now that he did all I am thinking is that if he is going to go... then just go. I don't actually think he will leave for good though. Feel free to prove me wrong if you think it is worth it.

I like you alot Milkis, but honestly what else were you thinking when you posted that "BW is the only eSport" when you know there are thousands of other players in the other games that put just as much effort into there respective games as Flash and Jaedong. You brought this upon yourself, you know how people on the internet can be, and you shouldnt be surprised at what people are saying to be honest. Man up and be responsible, don't just go and hide once other people voice their opinions too.

I just read this and the reddit - thing a bit and I have no idea what's the big deal here. Milkis thinks something > something else and told something else to fuck themselves. Isn't that the standard human behaviour?
Who cares, it's just eSports drama. I didn't ask for this.

Suddenly, posting a ridiculously biased opinion about an easily disagreeable subject on a reputably harsh community site is supposed to spawn only intelligent discussion, with absolutely no flaming involved?
Those expectations aren't unreasonable at all.

Keep in mind that Milkis has contributed WAY more to the community than he's taken away. If you think he's making a mistake by posting this and leaving, then you should try to imagine what comment you could write here to get him to change his mind and make him feel comfortable returning and doing more translations. Simply pointing out that it's a mistake is not very helpful =/ It's not that simple. Even if enough people say nice things that convince him to come back, what happens next time someone criticizes him publicly? He gets all emotional again, and quits? If he can't handle that kind of stuff it may be in his best interest for him to leave, as much as I have enjoyed the content he has put out. He wouldn't return without adjusting his attitude at all. Read my first post in this thread. I already put in my effort to help him change his approach.

I think everyone willing to put themselves out in front of 'the public eye' needs to know that they will be made fun of. Some people aren't going to like them and there's nothing you can do about it
I don't think Milkis is gone for good, I think he's just a tad angry and blowing off some steam for a couple of days. I can't imagine anyone leaving what they love because a couple of people told him he's wrong and called him 'mean' names

Completely agreed with your post on reddit. Some of the reactions were pathetic, and as it's the internet, I do imagine you got much worse in "private". Anyway, if it really is the end, I want to thank you for every translation you ever provided the bw community, I'm not sure you know how much it meant to us. Never say never though =)

Criticism is a part of life, if anything it just shows how important you are to the community.
Look at sports in america, the greatest athletes in the world get criticized every single day for stupid nonsense....
Does it make them any less of an athlete or a person? No.
Do they just flip tables, and quit? Absolutely not.
If you wanna survive in a world where your business is publicized and criticized then you must be strong and endure the world full of trolls.

After ragequiting reddit, twitter, tumblr and now TL I just hope he dont leave the best starcraft community, the good old /v/
But seriously this sums my feelings about all this drama:
