Yea thats why he's saying that he is just wondering and wants to know how others feel, right. Why do you have to be a dick and even act like you were on 4chan?
And then OP responded to every negative comment by "10% want it, it must be big". Why does OP have to be a dick to 90% of this thread?
He is just stating how surprised he is, there's nothing wrong with that. I am actually pretty surprised, too, even though I don't have this issue. But I'm not making fun of anybody.
If you think that this is all wrong etc it's fine, but you can say that without saying stuff like the intention of the OP is to just get "e-fame" or something like that. It just makes you look mean and doesn't bring anything worthwhile.
Eh I dunno, I think that the effect of looking at the units artwork is one thing, using it in a game and staring at it long enough to bother you is another. I would bet that your brain, the cause for the phobia, ignores the phobia in game when you are playing because of how differently it is functioning when it actively plays an RTS compared to when you're sitting at home looking at a picture.
Respect to the phobia but I don't think it will play out like you think it will.

Also, at people making fun of this: There are all sorts of crazy phobies, don't be a dick just because you're lucky enough to don't have this issue. Some people lose their consciousness over little dogs.
I agree with that but people in this thread are exaggerating the issue. OP posted a video with gross imagery, then asked if people were grossed out.
If i posted this video and asked, does this gross you out?
If it did you might have entomophobia, should the queen injects design be changed for people who have this?
See? And then people are like, wow I never knew I was scared of this! Blizz change it! Not to take away from people that legitametly have this problem, but people in here are taking it over the top.

Phobias are real and just because most of us don't have phobias does not give us the right to poke fun of other people with them. All phobias are different and mentioning other types of phobias here are apples and oranges. We're talking about one specific type of phobia, so stick to that.
I don't have this phobia but I do understand how members who does feel about this design.
Financially speaking, Blizzard implementing a design change like this is gonna cost them how much? a couple of hundred dollars? a couple of thousand dollars? or perhaps nothing?
Change the design of the Swarm host.
I do take Phobia's seriously. The point of people naming other Phobias is that you cannot design a game to account for all phobia's, so why single one Phobia out. If you have a Phobia that's causing so many problems get professional help, but don't expect the world around you to change, because holes exist everywhere, also in games.
When a phobia clearly disturbs 10% of a userbase, that is NOT a minor thing anymore. That is absolutely giant.
This is not a representative sample, it is too small and we have no idea how many of those votes are actually true.
So in other words nothing can ever be changed because of player feedback because we can't know how many people mean what they say. Great philosophy.
No what he is refering to is that TL isnt enough of a representative sample of the whole sc2 community. and therefore its not enough to actually make them redesign the unit.
Team Liquid is a great place to get your sample since it gathers people from all over the world and different ages. If he's objecting to anything other than the number of people responding he's just being stupid, and I don't think he is.

Okay that is right, but then again it's not really OPs fault but rather that the people in the thread didn't get his point.
I answered yes no problem because I didn't have any itches, but when there's stuff moving underneath living tissue it grossed me out pretty bad, the other holes didn't bother me.

But thats exactly whats happening. And people are doing this. So people are complaining when they never would have been bothered otherwise.
I'm not seeing the logic here. If people have an uncanny fear of bugs, does that mean the developers should remove every zerg zerg? or if they have a fear of robots, every protoss? Or if they are ocd, every terran unit because they obviously don't shower every night? The point of the zerg race is to look scary and swarm you, they aren't friendly!
Thank you, OP, due to the video I learned about some organisms I haven't seen before. It's fascinating. I didn't itch at all though. I guess it's because I've seen bee's nests since very little (avid Winnie the Pooh fan), and such structures remind me just of bee cells which I don't find disgusting.
However, I can imagine that this may be painful for some people, if they have such phobia. Maybe there's a graphical solution to ease the effect on people like you, and still keep somewhat the concept. I think we should urge Blizzard to work on graphics options for people with phobias and color blindness.
I kinda scared of that kind of hole pattern. When I see the hole of Swarm Host, I got chill/goosebumb. Just like my fear of barnacle with repeated holes in different shape and clumping each other T_T
When I see something like that, I just want to destroy it. If this unit does not changed, it will be in my top "kill priority" in game (not only that, this unit also seems quite dangerous too.).
But funny thing is, honey bee hive does not scared me at all. may be because it seems more symmetric.
Creep tumor does not scared me though, may be because the amount of repeated pattern is low, and it does not look like a hole pattern (may be).
im sorry, i really feel sorry for those of you who cant watch stuff like that.(being honest) Im not sure how could it be fixed other than changing the entire model, maybe changing some options on the options panel? llike lowering the death and such animations?
I recall some other post similar to this one, but it was another unit, zerg one too, maybe the infestor?
For now i think you guys will have to get used to it, maybe send some letters to blizzard will get some sort of answer on the issue. Really wish you guys good luck! and hang in there
this type of phobia is actually alot more common than some people might think. i Suffer from this myself.
i thinks its a pretty cool design though. Zerg units are supposed to look scary/repulsive and the swarm host is definitely one of the few zerg units that actually accomplish this.
so Yes, i find the art design of this unit extremly disgusting. but No, i dont want it to be changed.

The very first post hits it right on the head for me. It looks like a silly fat head and not the least bit ferocious. I don't care about clusters of holes or whatnot. Zerg are also not insects, please stop trying to make them into ones.
