One-siding a code A player 4-0 that beat MMA 3-0 is saying something. Not to mention he beat MMA 2-1 in the qualifiers and face stomped many others. If you want to say Stephano is not code S material then show some facts to prove it.
Even Koreans are saying that Stephano is ahead of Nestea (like it or not). I notice a lot of people try to make Koreans seem like Gods and that no foreigner will ever catch up to them because of their success on Brood War. Keep in mind, the Foreign SC scene started much later then the Korean scene so of course there was a huge skill gap in brood war. But, this isn't brood war; it's an entirely different game where foreigners are on the same level of the top Koreans.
If Stephano isn't code S material; please show me a list of players that would convincingly beat him with FACTS to prove it also don't mention MVP because I am sure that's the first and last person people will mention besides Nestea of course; who might I add was beaten by Dimaga in the super tournament when Nestea had a flawless ZvZ record. Code S is overrated and I'm sure those players could be beaten by foreigners.
I think this is the worst post I've ever read on this site. Stephano ahead of Nestea? I want what you`re smoking. Stephano has the "It" factor. There is some switch in his brain that switches on razor sharp split second decision making and an almost supernatural calm and focus when he is playing.
You can see it on the screen during the game. And you can see it when you look at him playing in the booth.
As the pressure went up? And the matches were more high stakes?
He just dialed it in harder. The decisions were more split second, more on point, more devastating.
And he was totally unshakable by the situation, the crowd, the lights, the hype ... nothing shook that focus when it counted.
I am telling you this kid is the real deal man.
He's got the genetic skills to go through Code S like a hot knife thru buttah.
I'm going to rofl when he gets stomped trying to get through Code A. Poor, poor American. He will win MLG Orlando and get free Code S spot. lol okay there buddy, this isnt even as impressive as when huk won 2 majors in a row in the summer and has huk won an MLG yet? Honestly stephano didnt even beat any code s calibre players to win IPL. His win was certainly impressive, but im also pretty sure that the pressure really got to lucky. Lucky's ZVZ's against ret (whos no slouch) were far more impressive. Stephano beat a code a player in the finals and a Code b player in the semi's. Its obviously impressive but dont go around saying hes going to pull a naniwa at MLG with top koreans there. Just not going to happen. I could easily see him not making it out of the open bracket as MLG has stated that MLG orlando will have more koreans coming than any previous MLG. Stephano is an awesome player, and he totally deserved the win at IPL but i dont think hes going to be pulling off results like this at many other majors , at least not consistently. The korean roster for IPL3 was strong but it wasnt as strong as any of the MLG's. The koreans stephano beat consisted of 1 code a 3 code b's and 1 code s player who he lost to. When stephano faced a code S terran earlier in the tournament (alive) he got 2-0'd remember that. That's crazy how much blind people can be... Why are you angry ? Sometimes i don't understand.
Stephano beat MMA 2-1. MMA is codes S.

I m happy than steph won and shut some mouth, i'm sure there were a lot of people pissed about the outcome of the event and hoped he lost. But well, guess what, he won and we hear a lot less hate
To the ones talking about the loss to alive : Stephano played mass ling to not show his zvt before facing good terrans throught the championship bracket.
I think that he's not as good as nestea or MVP right now, bu he is defintly code s material for sure. code S is not somekind of outta space league with monsters playing sc2 with 5 hands, it's a regular starcraft 2 league with a general better level than foreign tournaments.
I hope pink zerg will get out of the MLG open bracket, altrought it will be difficult, everybody knows it's pretty tough. Speaking of MLG i really think that the open bracket games will be better than pool plays.
|
The final was not as entertaining as I would of liked but I think that is due to the state of zvz. Maybe if infesters/banelings were removed it would be a great matchup to play and watch
|
There was one point of time think about 2-3 months back.. I was watching an FXOpen Europe Stream and i saw several terran players being beaten by Stephano. I knew this guy was something.
He has also beaten MMA.
I was starting to notice this guy was far better than any foreign zerg player i could think of. Will he crush Koreans? I got a feeling he would.
Sometimes i'll watch his stream. His gameplay is entertaining and solid. Heard he was about to participate in a major tournament.
Next thing you know.. he was in IPL3, i wasn't expecting him to take the championship but i believe he had what it takes to actually be the champion. Which he did. Was not very surprised, rather impressed and happy that finally a Foreign player has won a major tournament with many Good Korean players in it.

Are you seriously arguing that Stephano who won IPL3 is ahead of Nestea who won GSL multiple times?
Let's just hope Stephano could get a code a invite through MLG and go to Korea so that we could see at which round he gets eliminated. He's not better than Nestea just because some Korean Netizen said so. He's not better than Nestea just because you think he is. You sir, are the most delusional person I've ever seen.
And yes, the foreigner scene is way way behind Korean scene, like it or not. Pick top 32 Korean players and top32 foreigners and let them play a tournament, double elimination format, I will be highly surprised if any foreigner could get in top10.

Don't be stupid.. in a actual GSL qualifier you only have to win like 5 BO3 vs korean code B or some code s level! Stephano defeited alot more code S players in the qualifier plus the actual tournament. So no it's not harder to win when there is 100K in prizes compared to a code s spot.
Just let it go, he won fair and square. He was the best in this tournament and deserved it.
Yes there are better players but in this weekend and out of those players he was the best! Would he win a GSL? we don't know but maybe he could.
|
Why do people not want to admit Stephano is a beast? Instead of arguing just wait until he goes to Korea for the GSL Blizzard invitational and we'll see how good he is because apparently winning IPL3 means nothing to some people.

Stephano is Code S material like it or not. Get your heads out of your asses and accept the truth for what it is.
Or you want what the Korean who said it was smoking. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=273987And thanks for saying it was the worst post you've ever read because you clearly just made yourself look like an idiot because everything I said in it was fact and you just completely bashed it. Just cause a korean on a website like TL said it doesn't mean it has any value. Stephano is really damn good, but ahead of Nestea is just madness. Name one tournament Nestea has won outside the GSL I will give you a cookie if you can name one. Hahahaha. No. Seriously? You are not trolling? Please say that you are trolling People like you are a pest. Here's some advice: Get some maturity. Seriously, GTFO unless your answering my question. Also, keep in mind that "MC" was once the "best" player. Now he's not even in code A. Anythings possible. Don't be so close minded and annoying. Are you seriously arguing that Stephano who won IPL3 is ahead of Nestea who won GSL multiple times? Even qualifying for code A is harder than winning IPL.
I agree he's a beast and he's the best player last weekend. But some people are way overhyping him it's ridiculous. We are rational people and should have the ability to think. I know he beat a bunch of Koreans ONLINE and 2 Koreans offline. Sorry, I still don't think he could win 5 BO3 in a row against Koreans. Maybe 1 out 10 times, but very unlikely.

Whatever, arguing with you is pointless, you underrate him, i am maybe overrating him a bit but i m pretty sure he has the level to compete at the top level right now, in code S

It took players like Bomber and DRG like 6 times to qualify. Players like MC and Byun are Code B. Well if you really believe Stephano is better than all of these people because he won an IPL, then fine I have nothing to say anymore.
Anyways, he's going to MLG this weekend. You guys will understand what I'm talking about right now after MLG.
