My two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Max is the tricolour and Alfie the Ruby, unfortunately Alf passed away last year at just 5 His skull was too small for his brain and it caused him nerve issues most of his life sadly. This is Honey, she is a poodle/beagle crossbreed. Max trollin' Alf Honey being all emo

My girlfriend begged me to get a chihuahua..I did not want one at all but after having him for a bit I basically fell in love lol. He's so much fun and he has a lot of personality :D Don't make fun though plz xD I told her I got to pick the name since she picked the breed, and I chose Bear, since it sounds kinda tough

My two dogs. This is right after I moved into where I am now so that's why the mattress is in the floor. I've also got a cat who we got when he was like 6 weeks old. The white dog (florida cur) raised him so now he thinks he's a dog. It's pretty amusing.

And here's the sad pictures... And the story behind it: October 2008 I adopt a puppy! yay! November 2008 puppy has a slight limp. I take her to the vet, gets Xrays, and diagnosed with a 'Luxating Patella'... It's common in small dogs, basically her kneecap was moving around to where it shouldn't be and ended up on the side of her leg. There is surgery to fix this, but the vet tells me they need to wait until she's full grown or there's a very good chance it'll just end up happening again. June 2009, I bring her in to fix the Luxating Patella, and get the bad news. The luxating patella was just a symptom of the much larger problem, her leg has grown 'twisted'... basically just slightly turned. My vet is an old guy, and he said this is by far the worst case he has ever seen. Lucky for me, in Fort Collins there is a very respected vet school, one of the teachers there literally wrote a book about exactly what my dog has, so my vet makes an appointment for me to go see him. July 2009, I go see the expert. He says that he can fix it, but... It's a very intense surgery, they open her up, crack the leg, twist it to where it 'should' be. BUT, even then she had very bad arthritis in that leg, having the surgery wouldn't have significantly improved the quality of life, and it would have cost me $3500. I currently work a pretty shitty job, I make enough to pay my bills on time, but I simply don't have that much cash laying around. Amputating it would 'only' cost $1000. TL;DR Dog was broke, this was the best thing to fix it. What a extraordinary person. Your love for the pet makes it's life so damn worthy. I take my hat off for you sir. I hope he is doing well
