![]() This is Freak. She's one of the many cats I have at the moment. Her name comes from the seven toes she has on each front paw, including two "thumbs" on each. I had no idea when we named her, how perfect the name would be. She's really big, and has an abnormally small head for the rest of her body. Other than that, she's the most lovable cat ever, and will cuddle up with you for hours. ![]() This is Pecan, he's gay. Seriously. I can't explain it, but everything about him just screams it. Duck (named by me) and Socks (not named by me): + Show Spoiler + ![]() Duck attacks StarCraft units and pretty much any thing else that moves or looks like it might start moving after being clawed. Socks is a lazy lapcat that prefers others do his moving for him. They were both abandoned animals (pretty common on the scenic highways out here) that we took in. Socks being ferocious: + Show Spoiler + ![]() We also have a pretty half-German Shepherd, half-Australian Shepherd dog that I kind of hate, simply because she's incredibly neurotic. I'll start off with my very precious Doggie Elle. ![]() We were actually quite lucky to have her. She was abandoned by her owner(left her to die, how coudl they do such a thing to such a gorgeous doggy) and was picked up by the guy who was helping the original owner move. He sent it to a friend of ours, and we got it from them. She's so cute, and so dumb at the same time. For instance: 1.Sleeps with her tounge out at night. 2.Stands in front of cars when they come 3.Sometimes she gets confused and follows random people. One time another family was walking a dog and she just decided to follow them.

That's one good looking dog. Many of the dogs here are wonderful.. makes me remember having one when I was a kid.. To bad my father never allowed me and my brothers to have them later on..

A bit over a year ago, our dog died. I don't have any digital images but since she was a Briard, she looked approximately like this: http://fr.academic.ru/pictures/frwiki/66/Briard_fauve.JPG (actually many Briards look very exactly like this, so did our Gwenny as well. They're pretty big and massive and that impression is only partially because of all that fur)

Cats and dogs are so cute :333 Sorry for the horrible pictures and my bad english: Heres my oldest dog, her name is Vudi and she is 13 years old. She is not showing any signs of aging though! Notice her paws are all dirty (i live in the countyside), thats because shes always running around and digging holes and exploring around ![]() ![]() Here is my other dog Forrest (yes, named after Forrest Gump 'cause my mom loved that movie and so did I). He is a very calm and a loving dog and he is also very, very shy (when he does something bad like digs up the grass and he sees that im coming his way he pulls his tail between his legs and lays down and makes those puppy eyes and tries to walk to his sleeping place really slowly as close to the ground as possible although ive never been too angry with my dogs, i dont yell at them and ive never hit a dog) but unfortunately we got to keep him chained because he likes to chase cars and follow strangers. Most of the time when someone is outside we let him loose though so he can wonder around a lot. Forrest has always been a troublemaker (as said before he likes to chase cars and follow people) and recently he has strangely developed a habit of stealing various items from peoples yards. ![]() And finally, heres an awful picture of my cat Kribu (means like a really small dot in estonian cause when we got him he was really really small, like even smaller than usual kittens). He spends a lot of time in our neighbours yard because there are some other cats there and sometimes he steals their food and stuff. Hes really badass (lets just say Ive found gutted mice on our front lawn countless times) and usually he just does not give a f*ck about anything, seriously. When hes sitting on the veranda we always let him in and feed him but then he wants to go back outside wandering around and minding his own business. ![]() Also hope you guys wont mind since this is a picture thread, i also filmed my pets with my crappy mobile camera.

If you are an adult, most times you don't even have to go to the hospital. You're going to be in extreme pain, but you probably won't die. Also, widows almost never go for a bite, they run away into their webs first, only if cornered or protecting an egg sack will they attempt to bite you. Man those motherfuckers go crazy if you're not careful. Im with you on the exotic pets thing but unfortunately I only lived alone for about a year before finding a girl worth my time and it's hard to CONVINCE her that having awesome pets like these is a real show stopper. I really really want a King Cobra....badly. Yes they are venomous and such but when treated with respect it's actually really hard to get bitten by one and since I don't plan to do insane shit like milk its venom I'll be all right. Wouldn't be the first venomous snake ive owned. Used to have an eastern diamondback rattlesnake in a secure tank. Only issue is finding a big enough tank for an 18 foot snake that's secure :/

What is with the Dog vs Cat thing lol? They both have appreciable qualities. Not all cats are completely independent. (Obviously.) I've had cats that constantly rubbed against my face/clawed me and if I didn't pay them my mind then I was spurned. Trying to sleep with a cat scratching your face for attention isn't the best thing ever. (I still loved these cats dearly, in fact one of them is still alive and is my favorite cat.) Dogs don't require constant attention. Yes, some dogs piss and shit all over, that depends on breed and training. I've heard people talk about how whorish and cheap a dog's affection is and I think that's crap. When you come home from work and your girlfriend fucked the milk man, you got fired, and you got T-Boned at the intersection 15 feet from your house, you'll understand how wonderful it is to be loved in such a way. A dog's love isn't as cheap as people act. A dog doesn't love a jackass who would beat them. Seriously Orgo, go to a shelter and decide or yourself if you have to choose. I find that both kinds of companionship are wonderful and complement each other.

Dogs do require attention, but the rewards are equal or even more than the effort you put in it. I don't want to be rude but, most of the time the litterbox stinks like a hellhole is because the owner doesn't clean it everyday. If you don't, the piss starts to stink really bad, and then after a few days you'll need to change all the litter and clean the box. Also, if cats are pissing in their living environment, that means they are unhappy by the way it is. Typically... If the owner has clothes on the ground or the litterbox is dirty, etc... Otherwise, domestic cats instinctively urinate in a small, one area place. Humans train the cat to do it in a litterbox, that's why they go there. Dogs are great. Bigger dogs are more of a hassle, because of the space they need, exercise, food, etc... but they are awesome. I've had 4 dogs and 6 cats growing up, and I couldn't pick out which one is better. If you want loyalty, get a dog. Even though some cats will wait at the door and look you in the eyes, there is no equal to a dog's loyalty. A cat will NOT fight off another cat eating you, a dog will fight off Godzilla if need be. Personally, I have had rabbits, guinea pigs, an actual pig, an iguana, a fire-bellied newt, canary, cockados, degus, mice (big mistake), a turtle(illegal, had to get rid of it), cats, dogs, babysat a couple dragons for a long time, frogs, praying mantas (omg don't let them have babies), and ferrets. By far the most hassle is a ferret. If you want something that fucking destroys everything, gets into anything, and makes a mess that a human couldn't even do, get a ferret. Seriously, you hate someone, buy one ferret and let it loose in your enemy's house. But ferrets are absolutely hilarious and have more personality than any other creature I've experienced. Next pet? Tortoise. It'll be my last, and hopefully outgrow me so I can put it in a zoo. COOL!

![]() Penny at about a year old... Notice the strange way she's sitting... ![]() And here's the sad pictures... ![]() ![]() ![]() And the story behind it: October 2008 I adopt a puppy! yay! November 2008 puppy has a slight limp. I take her to the vet, gets Xrays, and diagnosed with a 'Luxating Patella'... It's common in small dogs, basically her kneecap was moving around to where it shouldn't be and ended up on the side of her leg. There is surgery to fix this, but the vet tells me they need to wait until she's full grown or there's a very good chance it'll just end up happening again. June 2009, I bring her in to fix the Luxating Patella, and get the bad news. The luxating patella was just a symptom of the much larger problem, her leg has grown 'twisted'... basically just slightly turned. My vet is an old guy, and he said this is by far the worst case he has ever seen. Lucky for me, in Fort Collins there is a very respected vet school, one of the teachers there literally wrote a book about exactly what my dog has, so my vet makes an appointment for me to go see him. July 2009, I go see the expert. He says that he can fix it, but... It's a very intense surgery, they open her up, crack the leg, twist it to where it 'should' be. BUT, even then she had very bad arthritis in that leg, having the surgery wouldn't have significantly improved the quality of life, and it would have cost me $3500. I currently work a pretty shitty job, I make enough to pay my bills on time, but I simply don't have that much cash laying around. Amputating it would 'only' cost $1000. TL;DR Dog was broke, this was the best thing to fix it.

Is penny still happy now though? Pretty sad to see when a dog needs to lose a leg ![]() If there's one thing I know about dogs, it's that they adapt really well to not having one leg. Every time I go to Portugal and visit my grandparents in a small town, I see 3 dogs that have a missing leg. They're all playful and happy as hell all the time. Hopefully Penny is the same. ![]()

![]() This guy is Pettson. He is fat and has three legs. He broke (or crushed) one of his back legs somehow and we got the options to either amputate or put him to sleep. Obvious choice. He's hopping around almost like a big bunny! ![]() This is our whiny cat Findus. He likes to run around yelling all day long (indoor cat) and just being a pain in the ass, until you pick him up and carry him around. (Forgot my watermark lol)

![]() One day we opened the door and he just walked right into our house and made himself at home. He's such a sweet cat. Often times he wakes me up by kneading my hair, or purring obnoxiously loud in my ears. And this is my Rottweiler, Wellington (not my name, but it stuck). He's been such a great dog over the years. We got him when I was 7, my brother and I went over to our neighbor's house whose Rottweiliers had puppies and we brought him back home. Recently his health has been declining and its only a matter of time until he passes away, but I will always remember him. He's such a kind, and loving dog. ![]() ![]() Despite his age (12), he still has those puppy eyes

![]() ![]() Nutter Butters, one of my two cats. The other is a short-haired Russian Blue named Sully. Anyway, 5 years ago we found Nutters in the woods behind our house, under an old chair, with his siblings. There was probably 7 or 8 of them but a few were dead when we got there. His mother drowned in our pool when we took the cover off so we took in Nutters, a grey male, and a black colored female. The male died the next day and we had to put the female down a few days later; it had an eye infection and it's eye was swollen to 3 or 4 times it's normal size. Ironicly, Nutters was the cat that was meowing the loudest when we found him, now he doesn't do it at all. Edit: He's a fatass who weighs 19 pounds.

![]() The brown one is Jackson (acquired in 09). The gray one is Indie (acquired this April). Jackson is intelligent and cute, but he uses his smarts for evil and not for good. He's an inveterate food thief. Indie on the other hand is dumb as a box of rocks but very sweet and affectionate and interested in earning the approval of her owners. She's a little weirdly proportioned, though. We'll just say that if someone were setting her up for a blind date they'd say "she's got a great personality." Despite their differences they're pretty much BFF.

Like for example the dog would jump up to a door (leaning against it with her front paws, and one of the cats would stand on her head to hang on the doorknob as to open it :p On other occasions when we were eating fish one of the dogs would distract us by staring at us while one of the cats jumped up and stole the fish from our plate haha.. too bad i dont have pictures of these little criminals..

When they are young they can have that behavior, but if you handle them often (several times a week) and get them used to you they will stop biting or peeing on you, my sugar glider bit us for the first 4 weeks we got him but we used a washcloth to pick him up and gradually he stopped doing that as he became used to getting handled. Its just like any other pet, you have to give them attention or they will not be a very good pet. As for the barking yeah lol, its kinda annoying but funny at the same time. They are nocturnal so will be active at night.

If you're wondering why he has something in the mouth, it's because he loves to tear shit apart and such... - It's a tape roll. (He's still very young and playful, abnormally large and strong for his age, and his muscles are already very defined.) ![]()

![]() My rott Gypsy and my pitbull Rino. :3 Gypsy died last year to cancer in her leg. My and my mom had her professionally trained in a social environment when she was little and she ended up becoming one of the most clever, elegant dogs I've ever met. Rino has this kind of split personality of being both aloof (see facial expression in pic LOL) and suddenly turning into an unstoppable ball of energy and fury. He's pretty ripped because he basically never stops moving if anything even slightly amuses him.

![]() Here is my pet: Rusty. He is a very happy dog that loves people. He gets really excited when people come over. He plays fetch with me almost every day until he is too tired. When he is itchy and laying down, he makes loud moaning noises that make everyone LOL. When someone else lets him out of his cage/kennel thing he sleeps in, he stays by my door until I wake up, and wont go downstairs until I go with him. I love him so much, but I have to go to university now and will only see him on school breaks. He'll miss me sooo much D': + Show Spoiler [Bonus puppy picture] + ![]()

Being a single student renting a small flat in the middle of town, I cannot really justify getting a pet, considering my living situation could change at any minute. Good thing there's tons of cats in the neighbourhood though, so I can get my cat fix. That said, I do occationally steal other peoples' cats for a few days. Queue terrible quality, my mobile camera's pretty junky. My mother's cat, Fenris. He's whimpy but still very sociable. + Show Spoiler + ![]() ![]() My sister got a cat recently. ![]() ![]() My miniature white schnauzer, Tyner. So-named because my dad got him for my mom on Valentine's day, a few weeks after he was born. I remember when he first came home with us, he was so scared and clumsy, and he would always slip and fall when trying to walk across the tiles in the kitchen haha. That was when I was 6. I grew up with that dog, and he saw me all the way off to college. Don't know if there was ever a more hyper dog. Every single day I got off the bus from school, Tyner would be in the window barking and scratching and excited as hell. R.I.P. Tyner!

Sera is around 5-6 years old, not quite sure as it's a former street dog from Spain. Was quite a hassle once she came to us at first doing everything from eating my dinner to drinking coffee that was left on the table and breaking the coffee machine soon afterwards. Got to love how healthy it has stayed, no issues what so ever over the 5 years we had her. Shes scared of dark, loud noises, newspapers, even shadows at times. Likes biting my hand and conquering beds/sofas. Plus she has grown real good at letting us know what she wants, if she wants a snack she will make it real clear. ![]()

What a extraordinary person. Your love for the pet makes it's life so damn worthy. I take my hat off for you sir. I hope he is doing well

He is my best fucking friend, and this is him in his natural habitat: laying in bed and being lazy as fuck. He also knows how to tuck himself into bed. ![]() This is my calico cat named Tessa, 12 years old.
