UPDATE: I said I'd upload this picture when I finally received it. Didn't think it'd take 2 weeks but I'm glad it finally came! Forgive the bump, but I can't not have a little brag. Ya, I'm the white guy in the back. I didn't get on the side because I wanted to be right next to Jangbi! Hahaha, I didn't really know what was going on... here it is:
This was my first live Starcraft event having been watching/playing Brood War since 2001 without really a break of any kind. It was one of the most fun experiences I've ever had in my life. If you have a love for the game, do everything in your power to come out and experience an event like this. The TL.net meetup thread worked perfectly, FuRong managed to convince the staff to give our whole group VIP seating tickets and, having really not ever won a thing in my life, my ticket number wins the raffle (along with maybe 5 other people at the whole venue). The prize was a group photo on stage with the winner after the games. Jangbi was still pacing, grinning, sweating and I got to stand up next to him on stage and personally congratulate him, grab him a little too much and give him a little bow. It was incredible. I was also absolutely hammered on soju the entire time. I'll update this blog once I'm emailed the group photo by the OSL staff.
Edit: By the way guys, please don't show up to a BW game with a bunch of beer/soju and drink it out in the open. I don't think alcohol is allowed at the games. I filled up water bottles and drank out of those.
Here are some sample photos from the set. Blow them up bigger than this preview, please:

September 17, 2011-DSC_6096 by benguzman11. This is towards the middle/end of game 5. I turned around and took a shot of the crowd. Didn't want to use flash because that's just being an asshole. I like it better this way, anyhow. Check out the larger version to see all the priceless faces.
Here's the rest of my photos with all the guys who met up on the tl.net thread: http://www.flickr.com/photos/21214932@N00/sets/72157627695587552/

Wow! So awesome you could attend a live BW event... The best I could afford is watching the finals together with me friends by stream

Awesome photos, so jelly. I live in Ulsan too, been here about three months . I wanted to come but I saw your thread too late and already had plans to go to Busan . Next big finals for sure (hopefully proleague finals in Busan :D) Whereabouts in Ulsan do you live/teach?
I booked off time for WCG Finals as well, that's in Busan this year. No BW, but SC2/CS and other fun I expect.

I am so damn jealous. I was amazed by watching the finals via stream, but I guess sitting in the audience must have been crazy good.

Your pictures are gorgeous. Thanks for sharing!

I live in Mugeodong and work in Ok-dong. Where are you at? I love watching SC2 as well so I'll certainly go with you to the WCG finals. When is it?

I live and work in Samsan, but we have a campus in Ok-dong and I go to the gym there and occasionally do cover there. WCG is 8th-11th December. I booked it all off but need to have a look at the schedule. Depending on when the event finishes each day I'll get a motel or get the train back (30 mins) I bought a 600d here and I just got a 50mm prime so I'm excited about taking those. I suck at using it but it's fun anyways. I'll friend you on flickr

Awesome photos! The passion in their faces in so different than the atmosphere that I feel in the SCII/Western crowds. The korean excitement feels so real, the applause/crowd reactions when I watch SCII games seem very forced. But maybe in time this will grow.
Anyways looks like you had a total blast.

The excitement there was no joke. I was out of my seat, grabbing the shoulders of the kids in front of me, today I had no voice I was screaming so much, I was rocking back and forth during intense times and my hands went to my head a hundred times over. Everyone was going absolutely nuts, and rightfully so. The games were stunning.
