UPDATE: I said I'd upload this picture when I finally received it. Didn't think it'd take 2 weeks but I'm glad it finally came! Forgive the bump, but I can't not have a little brag. Ya, I'm the white guy in the back. I didn't get on the side because I wanted to be right next to Jangbi! Hahaha, I didn't really know what was going on... here it is:
This was my first live Starcraft event having been watching/playing Brood War since 2001 without really a break of any kind. It was one of the most fun experiences I've ever had in my life. If you have a love for the game, do everything in your power to come out and experience an event like this. The TL.net meetup thread worked perfectly, FuRong managed to convince the staff to give our whole group VIP seating tickets and, having really not ever won a thing in my life, my ticket number wins the raffle (along with maybe 5 other people at the whole venue). The prize was a group photo on stage with the winner after the games. Jangbi was still pacing, grinning, sweating and I got to stand up next to him on stage and personally congratulate him, grab him a little too much and give him a little bow. It was incredible. I was also absolutely hammered on soju the entire time. I'll update this blog once I'm emailed the group photo by the OSL staff.
Edit: By the way guys, please don't show up to a BW game with a bunch of beer/soju and drink it out in the open. I don't think alcohol is allowed at the games. I filled up water bottles and drank out of those.
Here are some sample photos from the set. Blow them up bigger than this preview, please:
September 17, 2011-DSC_6096 by benguzman11. This is towards the middle/end of game 5. I turned around and took a shot of the crowd. Didn't want to use flash because that's just being an asshole. I like it better this way, anyhow. Check out the larger version to see all the priceless faces.
Awesome photos, so jelly. I live in Ulsan too, been here about three months . I wanted to come but I saw your thread too late and already had plans to go to Busan . Next big finals for sure (hopefully proleague finals in Busan :D) Whereabouts in Ulsan do you live/teach?
I booked off time for WCG Finals as well, that's in Busan this year. No BW, but SC2/CS and other fun I expect.

I live in Mugeodong and work in Ok-dong. Where are you at? I love watching SC2 as well so I'll certainly go with you to the WCG finals. When is it?
I live and work in Samsan, but we have a campus in Ok-dong and I go to the gym there and occasionally do cover there. WCG is 8th-11th December. I booked it all off but need to have a look at the schedule. Depending on when the event finishes each day I'll get a motel or get the train back (30 mins) I bought a 600d here and I just got a 50mm prime so I'm excited about taking those. I suck at using it but it's fun anyways. I'll friend you on flickr
Awesome photos! The passion in their faces in so different than the atmosphere that I feel in the SCII/Western crowds. The korean excitement feels so real, the applause/crowd reactions when I watch SCII games seem very forced. But maybe in time this will grow.

Anyways looks like you had a total blast.
The excitement there was no joke. I was out of my seat, grabbing the shoulders of the kids in front of me, today I had no voice I was screaming so much, I was rocking back and forth during intense times and my hands went to my head a hundred times over. Everyone was going absolutely nuts, and rightfully so. The games were stunning.

You're the dudes that were showed durring the broadcast, wow. Sick man, I feel so jealous right now. Don't forget to show the picture with JangBi when you get it.
Holy crap I need to go to Korea to watch some Brood War and experience live crowd.
Wow the entrance poster is just epic :o The Stargirl picture is mind-blowing, congrats. Would that be possible to have a higher resolution for this one if you don't mind ?
That should be a ridiculously high resolution picture of the boothgirl. If you want higher res of any of the pictures, just click on them to bring them into slideshow mode, then click "View All Sizes" on the top right. Then you can click some premade sizes or choose to download the original size.
So that was you on reddit that posted that picture. I was wondering if it was one of us. And thankyouthankyouthankyou for getting a picture of that booth girl. She was so pretty I couldn't stop looking at her every time she came out T____T.
If only I could go to Korea.... Anyways, nice man! Live events are so much better then sitting at home in front of you computer at 2 am in the middle of the morning.
Glad this got spotlighted and awesome that you got to experience those OSL finals. What a complete blast it was just watching it, couldn't imagine being there drunk and being able to meet Jangbi after. Thanks for sharing the pics.

Great pics, and LOL @ bringing loads of soju! Sounds like an amazing time. Just watching the finals on a stream was amazing, I can't imagine what being there live would have been like. BW forever!
Every 30 seconds you would stand up, hands on head in anticipation haha. I was in Fantasy's section for some reason..
You know, I have no idea why it's so funny to me to imagine people wasted at a BW game... hahaha I had to have cracked up at the mental image for ten minutes
I mean, I even drink during matches at home, but I guess it's just not something I've ever even considered lol. It's those straightedge Koreans, man.
Congrats on being in the spotlight! I have to agree with your choice on the placement in the picture. Also, I have no idea how cameras work, but do you have that staregirl picture in color? Either way, great getting to meet you at the event!
oh man. Words cannot describe the amount of jelly in my system. I'm getting some nerd chills just imagining myself in your shoes, in the environment and atmosphere. I had the pleasure of attending a ro4 MSL game before, and even then, the environment and atmosphere were extremely fun.
I can only imagine the atmosphere given the stage of the games, the OSL finals, and the absolute nailbiting games.

I do have it in color and I really don't like it that way. The girl looks kind of washed out from the light above her head and Fantasy is the focus point because he has the most kind lighting in it. Even with messing around in photoshop it'd take too much time for me to fix up the photo in color. If you really want the color version, though, send me your email and I'll throw it as an attachment.
This reminds me of nevergg threads.....im having the same feeling of extreme jelousy by watching those cool pics.
Can you guys imagine yourselfs with a boothgirl as a gf? hell, i would make a thread about it for sure... their work makes them an exotic acquisition.....
