I decided on the latter choice! It was not without great effort that I came to decide it'd be better to have my own place -for the most part- as well as being in walking distance to the heart of the city. I also saw one of the girls at the other place with what I assumed was her boyfriend, and I remembered that university girls sometimes like to get drunk, have sex, and party >.> and figured I might run into more trouble with gregarious parties, leftover messes, and the nightly humping that might ensue.
Well anyways... the place is very nice. It's still got all the original framing and posts and architecture from when it was built a hundred years ago. The front door, in fact, is so old that we have to use the back or go through the long process of undoing the several locks at the front.
If you live in the northeast of North America, you'll remember there was a huge storm a couple weeks ago or so, and it actually knocked down one of the old oak trees that's grown right next to the house. It fell just a few feet from the house! If the wind had been a different direction(or whatever knocked it down) I'd be out of a home. It actually makes a nice little arc where you have to bend down to get through, it reminds me even more of camping! But to my dismay, some woodworkers came to saw it apart today. As I was getting some orange juice, I noticed one of the workers looked strangely familiar...
Someone photoshop them together and you have my backyard! (I swear I'd take a picture but that seems a bit creepy and illegal).
Moving in has been easy, though it's still a decision I'm ruminating over quite a bit. The girls in all honesty could've been really nice, and one of the things that lured me to considering that place was the prospect of making something happen with the other girl. But then again that could also bring about some issues. Did I make the right choice? Should I have taken the risk?
Before I forget! I bought a new laptop!! It's an i5, 8gigs of ram, Geforce GT 540m with 2 GBVRAM, it's also got a neat mousepad where you zoom in and out using your fingers(like the ones on CSI, CNN). It's quite the improvement over my previous 8 year old, 1 GB ram desktop. I'll still keep it at home of course. It's grown on me over the years we've been together. The 8 gigs of ram are probably overkill for games, but I've heard photoshop needs a lot, and although I don't have my own camera, the pictures I've taken with my dad's have gotten some good feedback saying I have a natural "eye" for taking pictures.
My new SC2 adventures have brought me from platinum to high diamond, and I think I'm just about ready to push for masters. I've made up some of my own builds like the RoeGhostThor opening build(the name of which I just now coined), which people say is a bad one but to hell with them! The build is great in my opinion, and allows for a decently fast expo along with being safe from the great menaces of TvT: tank contain, banshee harass, BFH drops, and with good snipe micro-bio/scv rushes
Although I'm settling in well, I still go back to my heartfelt basics on the internet.

And at times, when the wind picks up and the freshness seems to enter your whole body, and your mind is finally at peace, I'm reminded of my times in Westfall, and the Barrens. For some reason I always remember them at night, when it was quiet. When I was alone.
A bit of a long one, and the content is a bit lighter, but it's good to talk about something else once in a while!
Here's to the new school year, and good luck to everyone!
