Giving Iran a spot over USA? The reason they have the spots they do is, for the thousandth time, SPONSERS.
USA has more sponsers the Iran.. -_-v first of all he is talking about "fair" wgt spot distribution ,meaning he's not taking sponsers into consideration. second: I'm sure he just forgot usa
the amount of sponsers is fairness, because it's not fair to just forget about money - for the organizers atleast.
oh and americans are stupid people

it would only be fair if korea gets 1 spot and everyone else gets 3. i think they should be handicapped because theyre better.

equal opputunity is thnx, for sc/bw that is, i dun like the fact about the other games having the same slots as us.
Because they have a bigger/more skilled player base?

When WCG decides what countries will send how many players, I am sure they consider what teenage computer gamers think instead of what is a better decision financially.

=] exactly.

It's not like the sponsors are paying the Korean WCG organization money or something (well some are, but they're not American). The Korean WCG organization pays for hotel fees and the gaming area in Korea, but not for the hardware used at the national qualifiers or the plane tickets of the participants. That's were the local sponsors come in. The organizers of the national qualifiers just let Korea know how many players they'll be able to send with the money they were able to raise from sponsorships and that's how the list is made.

Getting a high name sponser is like being sponsered yourself.
Somehow I don't think Intel will sponser an Iranian gamer over an American gamer, you know?

IMHO 16 players should be selected in international invited-only tourney + every country gets 1 slot.

um. what? no? why? so only 1 person from each country gets a chance, and they didn't win any tournament for that chance and and ...
no.

If i could distribute spots, this is how i would do it:
5 Players Korea
3 Players Sweeden Poland Germany China USA
2 Players France Netherlands Spain Russia
1 player Finland Taiwan Bulgaria Kazakhstan Mexico Italy Ukraine Norway Romania Philipines UK Portugal Argentina Turkey Malasya Denmark Brasil Belgium Czecg Republic Austria Colombia Iran Equador Hungary Slovakia Puerto Rico Guatemala Peru Estonia Hong Kong India Latvia Lithuania Japan Vietnam Pakistan India
Right on t.t

Buh India 1 spot ? Australia 0 ?
|
I think every country should get 2. That would be fair enough, right?
and SuGoSu will 0wn y0 ! =)
|
if you give every country 2 spots then a top player from sweden has way less chance than a top player from Iran
what the fuck is fair about that?
:[.
|
my 'list'
4 Players Korea
3 Players Poland China USA Canada
2 Players France Netherlands Spain Russia Ukraine Norway Sweden Germany Brasil
1 player Finland Taiwan Bulgaria Kazakhstan Mexico Italy Romania Philipines UK Portugal Argentina Turkey Malasya Denmark Belgium Czecg Republic Austria Colombia Iran Equador Hungary Slovakia Puerto Rico Guatemala Peru Estonia Hong Kong India Latvia Lithuania Japan Vietnam Pakistan India

well but that would solve the problem about countries ^^. I think the best two players from each countries is fair enough. It is bad luck for them if they have many good players in their country. I mean in Counter-Strike. turkey suffered alot from that since there were 3 very good clans to go to wcg 2002, but they couldnt.

you really have to be subjective if you wanted to make it fair
for example, bulgaria has 3 very good gamers (or had, dont know if mr.x is still playing)
sweden has some VERY good gamers and only 1 can go of the saft, willet, trek, etc group.
norway has nobody, and they have some very good gamers (honestly, slayer could probably come back tomorrow and finish top 16)
being subjective also brings a lot of criticism though (blah blah blah, we are willing to come, we should get equal opportunity, blah blah blah)
so just let the people with the money do their jobs and we will play.
there should be (if there already isnt) one stipulation. i.e. norway has no players, so those players should be allowed to go to a different country and qualify. i know in us, a foreign player cant go to national finals. this is a bit retarded, having a player fly to another country just to play a game, but it should at the very least be allowed.
