Based on the popularity of current dailies that 80% of the high level WoW players regularly do as a chore, Blizzard has decided to implement dailies that are more closely tied to chores in real life! And to make it even more realistic, all of these dailies are instanced just for yourself!
The new zone looks like a regular old house to start. You are the son/daughter of the family and must ask your parents what chores to complete for the day. Doing the chores earns you reputation which you can use towards customizing your house and room, and eventually even yourself! To begin the quest, you just need to speak to a parent of the household. Some examples of the chores implemented so far, and how to do them:
1) Mowing the lawn! The designated area(s) need to be completely mowed. * Right click on your garage handle to open it. * Right click on the lawn mower handle to grab it. * Walk to the designated area that needs to be mowed. * Push 1 to start the mower. * Push 2 to turn left and push 3 to turn right. * Once the area has been mowed, the quest is complete.
2) Doing the dishes! All of the dishes need to be cleaned. * Right click on a dish to pick it up. * Press 1 to apply soap. * Press 2 to begin scrubbing. * Press 3 to activate the water. * When the dish is thoroughly cleaned, you will see a sparkle appear. * Right click the sparkle to place the dish in the drying area. * Once all the dishes are clean, the quest is complete!
There's no doubt in my mind that a huge amount of the WoW players currently doing dailies regularly will also love these dailies just as much! They are very similar in difficulty, effort, and rewards at least.
edit: I have recently been informed there is a game specifically dedicated to improving your character through performing chores! Chore Wars! http://www.chorewars.com/testimonials.php

I don't know how to explain it, but I do believe this will cause a negative effect in players because they will be focusing more on virtual reality then in real life. I'm not sure if this is a good idea, seems like a ploy to have more people play WoW then doing real chores...
And doing dishes is harder then click 123 click

Honestly, the new Firelands dailies aren't that bad at all. They may not be extremely interesting, but I don't find them boring either AND they are short enough to not get too annoying. All in all I'm rather pleased with the direction Blizz has been going in with dailies... I haven't played WotLK, but I remember Quel'Danas to be very unpleasant.

I disagree. I believe doing these chores in game will make WoWheads enjoy doing chores in real life more! They'll be like "Hey this is just like WoW! Cool!"

Yeah... I'm gonna have to... uh... disagree with you there... After doing them a couple times I refused to do them at all except for the ones involving saving animals (throwing baby bear cubs off trees and onto a trampoline, and booting baby turtles back into the water). I haven't been a big WoW player since before Cata though (Long story short... I quit before Cata was launched, came back for a couple months because of the people I was friends with in the guild, and just last week decided the game isn't worth it for even that. I still talk with them on vent sometimes, just don't play WoW with them anymore)

Eh.. Everyone who actually wants to enjoy the good parts of WoW is on TBC and vanilla private servers anyway.. Blizz kinda butchered the game by not keeping any of those from when their design was better,

Kid doing these daily quests.. Mom:Dear could you help with..? Kid:grrr STFU and leeve me be

I actually take back what I said about doing dishes in game helping out with real life... think of people who play guitar hero -> play actual guitar. They'd pick it up, not be able to fret the strings right, and give up instantly (my guess). Like Cyclone said, doing dishes unfortunately isn't as easy as "click 1 2 3 click"

We need RLCraft.
People can level up skills like education, socialibility, hardworkingness. (whatever...)
