Alright. So I did play some ladder now. The only reason I played was so that I could write this blog post (ok, that's a lie. But i thought it was a funny lie).
I just started this blog (which you guys can see), so I don't really know what to write about. It's not that I cant come up with something to write about, it's that I want to write about everything at once. And as far as I know, that usually doesnt work out too well. I've tried five times too many (no, not one time too many. FIVE TIMES! Yeah, I'm that bad).
So what that means is... that in this post I'll talk about laddering. There's alot to talk about, so I'll talk about alot. Ill try. Or something.
Anyways! The first thing I wanna talk about is...
+ Show Spoiler +
Mindset! Alright. There's not too-too much to say about this. As I see it, there's four different mindsets you can have.
Alright. But what does this mean? Well, honestly, it doesnt mean too much. I just wanted to make some stuff up, and make a info-pic of it. But if we do take this seriously, we can see that there is actually some truth behind it aswell.
Optimally, you would want to have mindset #3 as a "serious" gamer (not pro, but still want to be as good as possible) or as a progamer (like IdrA). If you're a casual gamer, i'd say mindset #1 or #3 is the way to go. What you want to do, is to avoid #2 and #4. They are bad for your health. I'm serious. A friend of mine went to the hospital because of over-rage (ok, that's not true. But he could have! Even if "he" doesnt exist, as I dont have friends. Lolol).
So the reason for writing this, is to try to make you aware of your mindsets, and how they affect your play. This was something I got to experience last night. I was on a bad roll, and lost 17 of the last 20 matches. And I knew for a fact that it's not my regular play. But why did I keep losing? Yep. Mindset. I was at the time in the state of mindset #4. But I didn't want to stop, because I wanted to "own some nubbs", which... well.. didnt work out too well.
Today, when I played, I won my four first matches. Because I had mindset #3. Hell yeah!
So.. basically, because I had a night to cool off, I started playing way better. If you "experience rage" (lol), you should try it. Take a break, come back later. Own some noobs, for real.
Bottom line: Try not to get angry when you lose. It's not good. And.. it's just a game. No need to (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻ just because you lost a ladder match.
It's easier said than done, I know. But you have to remember this:
But this isn't anything new, is it? No, I guess not. But.. it's important to talk about. Because I'm sure there's alot more out there, who's been in the exact same situation. Lose -> Rage -> Lose more -> Break something (the only thing i broke last night was my MMR. No worries. No animals got hurt).
When you get angry, it's a chemical reaction in your body, and you can't really do anything about that. What you can, however, is to learn to control the outcome (lol, sound like an MMA coach from a movie), and not let it affect your gameplay. If it does; take a break. Shower, or something. That's what HuK does. And from what I've heard, he's pretty dang good.
So that's about it for now.
PS.

I am the creator of both posts.
How can you like me better than you like me? I'm confused.
Anyways, it's alot of fun to see that people enjoy reading my blogs. I'll try to post some stuff tomorrow.

I think mindset #2 is the best you can have as a competitive gamer, as it will make you improve more, if you really want to play the game. #3 on the other hand, is like setting a block in front of you, stopping you from improving. Striving to improve is my mindset and i think it's the best
Edit: typo

yea, mindset 2 is the one i have, but I'll play anyone for as long as they like (unless they're not helping my game play at all)
|
so basically. when you're thinking progamer. you'll be progamer? thx m8. that clears all things up

I said that if you want to be a competative gamer, you should have a confident mindset. There's a huge gap between being a pro, and thinking like a pro.
I can agree that having the "I'm not good enough"-mindset can help you in certain cases, but once you reach a certain level that will start to cost you games, as far as im concerned. It's different to be arrogant and confident. Arrogance can indeed punish you. If you always think that the guy you're playing is no match, then yes - you can get supprised (bomber vs destiny?) and lose.
If you however think "I'm very good at this game - but so is the opponent, so I should bring my A-game", then that's what you want. Having confidence in your play, but at the same time not underestimating anyone.
I should have mentioned that in my post. Whilst having mindset #3 ("I'm so good"), you should think that with confidence, not arrogance. Two very different things. One is good, one is not so good.

hehe. cool.. you answered my joke

I'm apperantly really bad at catching jokes.
We should invent a sarcasm/joke-font. Like inverse italic, that leans towards the left, or something.
