Ah Chargelot, you've done it again.
I never understood why the Day9 one didn't get spotlighted so I hope this one does.
I don't care what people think of Geoff's personality. If you combine the fact that he has one, and works so damn hard for this game, you can't help but realise that he deserves the upmost respect.

Really well done and in-depth interview, I really enjoyed it. Incontrol has always been one of my favorite personalities, recently he has become one of my favorite players and after reading this I'm willing to say he is one of my favorite people in SC2.
I definitely enjoyed the way this interview was done, He was able to give some really well written and thought out answers. I don't know if this had anything to do with the interview being conducted through PMs, but if it did, it added something extra to the interview.
Incontrol fighting, keep doing what you're doing man. All that you do for the community is really appreciated. I for one would love to see you take down a MLG or something else, it would be well deserved.

I feel like PM's helped with the thinking process, for both of us. Just because before you hit that send button, you get to read over what you said and ask yourself "Did I just sound like an idiot?" and if it's yes, you can adjust appropriately. Nonetheless, future interviews will still probably be Skype based. I've actually been slowly working on improving my transcription skills, which if you've seen the length of the Day9 interview you would understand why that could be a serious issue.
To the few of you who have specifically targeted me, and referenced to how much you've enjoyed both this interview as well as the Day9 interview, I thank you for taking notice of my work. Of course I can't take all of the credit, but I'm glad you're offering me my fair share of it.
I'm not sure what I will truly gain from all of this. A deeper involvement in the E-Sports industry would be a nice reward, but as Geoff himself proves, that can only come from hard work and dedication. At the very least, I get to shine my little spotlight on the people who make a difference in this community.
Looking forward to bringing you more exciting interviews from more of your favorite people.

In the couple weeks leading up to this, I watched a good 20+ hours of his stream. I saw laddering, coaching, friendly bantering, team practice, and the occasional uplifting speech to a relatively undeserving troll. I can say that Geoff is, by far, my favorite player out there now.
I think I may want him to be a champion more than he wants to be one.

Is there anybody in particular you might be targeting for the next one?
Honestly I think you do great interviews. Nice clear questions that direct the conversation but don't limit the discussion. Really nice.
Keep it up mate!
PS I think I may want him to be a champion more than he wants to be one I am not sure that is possible. He seems to have set his sights on Boxer at Anaheim. Respect!

Love the interviews. So well done, and it's quite cool to see what all you ask and they say lol. Just the level of the interviews have been amazing, and I can't wait to see your next one!

djWHEAT would be a great next victim. I've talked to him once about it, but he's a pretty busy guy, so we'll see.
To be honest, although this is just me completely throwing this idea out there for the first time, I'd love to eventually interview JP McDaniel. He does so much work in E-Sports, and he definitely does not get his fair share of that credit.

Spoilt for choice?
Either would be great. I like the idea of getting guys who are behind the scenes. There are so many people putting so much effort into this community it would be a shame for it not to be showcased.
Good luck!

There are different types of personalities - some which translate really well to the online world and others which are a little more atypical for the internet and can't really be read so directly. The majority of people on TL seem to fall into the former category, as in you can get a good idea of what a person would be like directly from how they act on the internet whereas others are a bit more unique. I think Geoff falls into that latter category.
I mean, sure, people can nitpick posts and say "omg, he sounds mean here" or "omg he sounds so angry here" but the more of the guy's personality you get to know and (especially) the more time you spend talking with him directly you come to realize that he's just simply a really, really good dude.
edit: Btw, great interview Chargelot. I typed up this stupid post and forgot to give credit where credit is due.

Love to hear JPmcdaniel's thoughts on the current metagame/playstyles of SC2. He spends so much time on SotG listening to people talk about it, but we rarely hear his opinion.
