Did they nerf him in this gen? Well, Garchomp was banned to Ubers on the Smogon tier list... again. So I guess you could call that a nerf. Wobbuffet seems to be hanging out in the standard tiers this time around, though. We'll see how that turns out. I won't use him, though, since I prefer bulky offensive teams more than defensive teams. And I hate Wobbuffet too. What, did they fix Shadow Tag? More like they nerfed Encore. It doesn't last nearly as long, so Wobbuffet can't get all the Tickles he needs before switching to something that owns the target. Also, since Golurk was introduced, Wobbuffet has a harder time staying alive in the UU tier. Hrm, Tickle wasn't why it was broken though, Tickle was just cherry on top... how badly did they nerf encore? O_o I know they nerfed from gen 3 -> 4 but they nerfed it again from 4 -> 5? Encore now lasts 3 turns, always. Including the turn it's used, so you have 2 turns where the opponent is locked into an attack. Yeah, Choiced Pokemon are still fucking destroyed by Wobbuffet, but now there's a lot more breathing room when dealing with it, especially if you have something like Houndoom that can fire special attacks at it and be immune to Mirror Coat. Oh, and by the way, I forgot to mention something about Wish. Wish now heals the target based on the USER'S maximum HP, so if Blissey used Wish on Snorlax, it'd be pretty much fully healed.
Is Blissey's moveset from Gen 4 still good (I still have my Blissey from Emerald)? Softboiled, Ice beam (or toxic), Aromatherapy, Thunder Wave?

Well, Blissey NEEDS an attack move, otherwise Ferrothorn and the gang can set up on it all day. I would probably go for Flamethrower (to deal with the plant bastard), Toxic, Softboiled, and Aromatherapy, although Seismic Toss can be useful for guaranteed damage against non-Ghosts. That's if you're going for status support. Wish/Protect is always a good option.

I usually go cleric with Blissey and tag ice beam on it (with thunder wave to cripple those fast targets, also great for stalling).
No idea who Ferrothorn is.

No idea who Ferrothorn is. Ferrothorn is the new really annoying all-purpose wall. Grass/Steel typing, an ability that hurts anything that hurts it, and it gets Spikes and Stealth Rock. AND it can actually do decent damage too. Really annoying, and it's EVERYWHERE.
Without Flamethrower, Ferrothorn shits all over Blissey.

Oh lol! I had him when I played a bit of PKM Black. I dunno if I should get back into the scene of Pokemon. I'm already resisting my urge to play TF2 and my frustration with SC2 ):

They can work somewhat ok in a TR team or pseudo-stall team.
Sorry to intervene, but yeah, ever since GF decided that SD needed a nerf and that Drain Punch was in "dire" need of a boost, Snorlax sucks. Shame that such an awesome pokémon gets so completely raped by Conkeldurr. Although it's an amazing bait, considering how many checks and counters he now has.
Also, RNG in Gen V is way too easy if you have a regular or lite DS.

Sigh. I bred a Gyarados with perfect Attack IV before. That alone look me many, many, MANY attempts. After that I gave up.
I am happier with the Feebas I captured that naturally came with perfect Spec Attack and decent IV overall.

I never understood why people felt the need to run Softboiled/Aromatherapy when Wish is so much more versatile. If you need the status recovery that badly just run Wish/Heal Bell, it's a completely legal combination and the only difference is you won't be able to recover status for your Soundproof Electrode (lol).
Also, Choice Band was nuts in 4th Gen. You could beat a lot of lesser players running a team of 6 Choice Band users, haha. Nobody wants to switch into an x1.5 power STAB, not even 2x resist Pokémon.
Also, usage in 5th gen seems to be mixed between Blissey (slightly more HP, Leftovers) and Chansey (waaaay more defenses through Eviolite).

And all this could have been avoided... if you used pokesav LOL
|
My friend also just posted a FB status about playing pokemon yellow for 50 hours and almost having all 150 pokemon, then having it crash/data be corrupted XD. Oh, the traumaa of poke-disasters...

Well, I got my Snorlax back. It was such a hassle, because I was breeding for an hour or two before I realized Pursuit was an egg move. -_- But now my little fatty is ready to rock.
Nickname? Waxangel.
Now to start on Rapidash. I need to honor Flamewheel too, you know. :D

I remember I named my Infernape, Inferrape because it was such a beast starter pokemon. Dragonite is still broken imo.
|
lol Dragonite broken
If Dragonite is broken to you, then I wanna know what sets you're fighting against. Dragonite is by no means a pushover, but his weaknesses are definitely exploitable.
