Ugh hate the new uh IV training or w/e
Why can't it be simple like the first gen
And OP special stat

There was IVs in the first gen, only 0~15 though which was the nice part about it D:

That's why I was planning on using a Choice Band variant. Snorlax's bulk is amazing, and its 110 Attack base stat is impressive as well. Nothing is gonna enjoy being clobbered by a Choice Banded Body Slam that might paralyze the foe and let others on my team sweep unhindered. And CurseLax is still a formidable opponent if you're not ready for it.

When did you become such a Gloomy Gus, Milkis? YOU'RE NOT THE SAME!

Choice Band just says "hello, I'm gyarados/salamence bait" since you dont even have elemental punches from Emerald (unless they found a way to put them in gen V)

I'm just promoting the use of better pokemon ^_^

You make it sound like I wouldn't be dealing with Snorlax's main threats before sending him out. >_< And even if Gyarados and Salamence eat Snorlax alive, neither wants to be paralyzed at all.

He has Fire Punch anyway, so Ferrothorn is out of the picture at least.

Also, he gets Wild Charge too, so Gyarados isn't really a counter if you have that move.

Eh, the thing is that Normal STAB at 30% paralysis isn't that big of a threat in the long run anyway (obviously if a gyarados switches in a body slam and it gets paralyzed you'll be happy). I don't know much about Gen V but Gen IV it was really annoying using Choice Band/Specs on anything (Scarf is an exception, for obvious reasons) mostly because it always just gets your opponent a free set up as they're going to be swapping to something that resists snorlax well anyway :p

Basically Offensive teams will set up on it ezpz and it's not good enough to dent defensive teams :p

In general normal STAB hasn't been great since Gen IV since everything just hits so much harder (which makes snorlax's bulkiness kind of useless since he's not Blissey level bulky). You can probably find something better to use on your team ;p

The thing about Gen V is that there are far more special-based threats. Chandelure, Reuniclus, Volcarona, Kyurem, and the like. Snorlax excels on switching in on such Pokemon (especially with Thick Fat to essentially gain two resistances) and forcing them out and eating a CB Body Slam or Return. And if it's Chandelure or Reuniclus, then you Pursuit them for huge damage.

Snorlax is obviously not the king it used to be back in the day, but I don't think that it's outclassed just yet. It's still got some life left in it. :D

Don't start posting teams now and ask me why you're losing then ;D

I want to see the entire stat system revamped for Gen6 actually :p (like removing IVs)

Most of what I want from Pokemon is just a better matchmaking/hack checking system, really. Both of them should be "trivial" since hack checking should just make sure a pokemon is within limits (you can just hardcode that in) and then maybe a ladder

I want Pokemon to be an ESPORTS

Please stop adding Pokemon until you fix everything please ;;

Well, Garchomp was banned to Ubers on the Smogon tier list... again. So I guess you could call that a nerf. Wobbuffet seems to be hanging out in the standard tiers this time around, though. We'll see how that turns out. I won't use him, though, since I prefer bulky offensive teams more than defensive teams. And I hate Wobbuffet too.

I'm still in Platinum, Pearl. I don't have the effort or time to train this generation of Pokemon (when you've spent 999:59 hours on Pearl and over 500 hours on Platinum, you kind of don't want to move on).

I'm pretty sure Shadow Tag was pretty damn broken in Gen 4 lol. It's not even worth reiterating how broken it was.

More like they nerfed Encore. It doesn't last nearly as long, so Wobbuffet can't get all the Tickles he needs before switching to something that owns the target. Also, since Golurk was introduced, Wobbuffet has a harder time staying alive in the UU tier.

To be honest, winning with an event Linoone that had extremespeed and belly drum was pretty damn beast.

~ Encore
~ Counter
~ Mirror Coat
~ Safeguard / Tickle
28 HP / 228 Def / 252 SpD

The one and only set for Wobbuffet. With little prediction, or none at all if Encore is used, Wobbuffet can guarantee at least one kill against a Choiced Pokemon (preferably a Pokemon with Choice Scarf). Choose Counter if your opponent is clearly a Choiced physical attacker, or Mirror Coat if it's a Choiced special attacker. If it's a Pokémon without a Choice item, simply use Encore and proceed from there since your opponent can't switch out. Encore can also work to your benefit if the opponent chooses to use a stat up move, as this will allow a free switch in for one of your Pokemon and at least one turn of set up. Encore is especially effective against defensive Pokemon, such as Lugia and Blissey, as the best they can do is use Toxic on Wobbuffet, and the move is rare on Lugia. Forcing a Pokemon to repeat a move while preventing them from switching is one of the most sadistic, and effective, strategies in Pokemon. Wobbuffet can also switch into a lead Choice Scarf Darkrai's Dark Void, forcing it to struggle to death. This can be risky, because if Darkrai uses Trick, Wobbuffet is crippled, and if Darkrai uses Dark Pulse, then Wobbuffet will take a massive amount of damage (and it cannot use Mirror Coat, as Darkrai is immune to it).

Both Safeguard and Tickle will be helpful as your last move. Safeguard is obviously there to prevent Wobbuffet from being crippled by status ailments and can help it support the team at the same time. The only downside is that Wobbuffet is very slow and will most likely be statused before it can use Safeguard. Still, Encoring a status move and using Safeguard can be an effective way to set up a sweeper. With Tickle, Wobbuffet can become an effective wallbreaker when paired with a user of Pursuit (such as Tyranitar or Scizor). Tickle Wobbuffet's main targets are Lugia and Blissey. Once Lugia is Tickled and Pursuited to death, most stall teams will be vulnerable to sweeps from deadly physical setup sweepers, like Rayquaza or Garchomp.

Encore now lasts 3 turns, always. Including the turn it's used, so you have 2 turns where the opponent is locked into an attack. Yeah, Choiced Pokemon are still fucking destroyed by Wobbuffet, but now there's a lot more breathing room when dealing with it, especially if you have something like Houndoom that can fire special attacks at it and be immune to Mirror Coat.

Oh, and by the way, I forgot to mention something about Wish. Wish now heals the target based on the USER'S maximum HP, so if Blissey used Wish on Snorlax, it'd be pretty much fully healed.

Why he was broken.

God, I so wanted one of those. It would have been glorious.

It's all about fucking Garchomp and Wobuffet.
Did they nerf him in this gen?

Well, Garchomp was banned to Ubers on the Smogon tier list... again. So I guess you could call that a nerf. Wobbuffet seems to be hanging out in the standard tiers this time around, though. We'll see how that turns out. I won't use him, though, since I prefer bulky offensive teams more than defensive teams. And I hate Wobbuffet too.

What, did they fix Shadow Tag?

More like they nerfed Encore. It doesn't last nearly as long, so Wobbuffet can't get all the Tickles he needs before switching to something that owns the target. Also, since Golurk was introduced, Wobbuffet has a harder time staying alive in the UU tier.

Hrm, Tickle wasn't why it was broken though, Tickle was just cherry on top... how badly did they nerf encore? O_o I know they nerfed from gen 3 -> 4 but they nerfed it again from 4 -> 5?

Blissey and Snorlax on the same team is bad

Blissey wishpassing to Snorlax is even worse o_o;

Well, yeah, that was just an example. Of course you don't use both on the same team.
