I'm trying to remember why and it was this outrage move someone would do on me that always decimated half of my time unless I had a fast pokemon with icebeam (I stopped running with Weavile awhile ago who had other good ice moves).

Outrage is a gigantic neon sign that says "Please switch any Steel type in on me!". Jirachi, Bronzong, Heatran, Skarmory, and Empoleon all get in with relatively minimal damage and can either set up or slam Dragonite with Ice attacks. You're using your Ice attacker wrong; you don't switch into Outrage with just anything. I think your problem is that your team just isn't well-built.

I stopped going the standard pkmn a long time ago, so when I vs.ed a Dragonite, I was caught with my pants down.

If I could go whatever pkmn, I'd go: Azelf as opener, Ninjask, Metagross, Blissey, and my last two were toss-ups. Breloom, Dusknoir, Spiritomb, Gengar if I want to be bullshit, Lucario was a fun pokemon too for an easy kill (especially with that accessory that let me survive with one hp), Starmie, Togekiss, Umbreon.

Most people set up too easily on me though D:

Going nonstandard is fun, but when a standard Pokémon can clearly assist your team better and more than a lesser-used 'mon, then perhaps you should go back to the drawing board. Having a cool and unique team doesn't really count for much when extremely common (and even sone not so common) threats just kill you to death. I don't like using ABSOLUTE BOG STANDARD guys either, but there comes a point where it's just more sensible to use some.

Do you remember the time when running Tyranitar was strong and hugely popular? This was like at the beginning with Pearl and Diamond I believe (Milkis will probably correct me).

Yeah, but relying on gimmicks (and make no mistake, Linoone IS a gimmick) won't get you too far. I would rather use reliable Pokémon that are more consistent at their jobs. Linoone can backfire very easily, and I'd prefer to play it safer with something like, say, Hippowdon or Machamp.

Omg, I have a female machamp, she is awesome.

Big fan of Hippo, but I never used him since Garchomp went Uber.

Is everybody still nuts about Excadrill nowadays? I remember back in the first days of Gen V in Japan, people were freaking out about how weather teams were incredibly imba (what with Manaphy having Tail Glow with Politoad having Drizzle, Excadrill having Sand Rush with a Balloon and decent coverage). Actually, are Drizzletoad and Droughttails even available right now?

But Machamp has to be my favorite lead. Dynamic Punch all day. I don't care if it's not viable anymore >.<

I never was one to use Blissey, Skarmory, or Snorlax. By now, though, I believe Ferrothorn is the staple "zomg gotta have" wall (is Jellicent still popular?).

I haven't kept up, but I think Sand Stream and Sand Rush were banned last I checked. Or something like that.

Fighting too common nowadays for most people to consider Normal or even Steel types. Steels used mostly to cover Dragon weakness.

That said, Snorlax ain't that good.

Too much work keeping up with a million games. I just prepare against my stupid friend who cheats. t.t
