According to blizzcon stream the next wow expansion is called "Mists of pandaria". Features: New race: Pandaren, playable by horde and alliance. (racial 3sec sleep) New class: Monk (Available for all races. Tank, healer and DPS(prolly just melee)) Yet another new talent system and new talents. Pet battle system (I have no clue how this works? pokemon?) Challenge mode dungeons. I suppose these are similiar to hardmode raidbosses. Level cap raised by +5 (90max) New continent that has cartoonish asian theme.(new continent is a flyzone at max lvl)

They can be played by both Alliance and Horde, Metzen (?) said it with the hosts right before SC2 / WoW tourneys kicked off.
|
It is indeed both horde and alliance. You get to choose which faction you go with after the first little bit of quests.
|
Shows how much OP knows about WC3. Pandaren Brewmaster was a hero you could buy in WC3. According to the battle.net site, Monks can dps, tank, and heal.
I for one will play MoP when it comes out, lol. Pandarens sound sick.

I've started playing WoW with the release, took some breaks in between, saw most of the content up to ICC. Got one character to 85 in Cata, stopped playing due to lack of interest and time.
I always considered coming back at some point; playable Pandas did it for me, though. WoW as a chapter of my gaming life is over.
*edit: And yes, I played WC3, I know about the Pandaren lore; this doesn't make the xpac less ridiculous.

Sorry, you came back to play Cata with all the furries, your argument is mute.

This just feels too much like a troll. Blizzard certainly may well open up the Pandaren to further design; just not make a panda expansion.
|
Its good to know that im not the onlyone who feels like its a troll. But i wouldnt be too surprised to see blizzard take a new way on wow. Grumpy dragons and undead horrors are getting old, apparently we need happy fat pandas.

I didnt notice any info about monks on battle.net, can you give direct link ? Also everyone knows pandas were buyable heros in wc3 but they felt like eastereggs even back then, i dont recall any lore binding pandas and azeroth.
*edit found the battle.net link but apparently it doesnt work because of internal server errors. Overflooded i suppose

It's funny their intent on stopping the bleeding in wow is so strong that they offer d3 for "free" if you subscribe for a year. It should still be 3x more expensive than just buying d3 standalone though, so... pass.
Thankfully, other than the 5man challenge mode, it doesn't look very appealing to me. Pandarens, the monk class and asian theme are too uninteresting for me to bother. Yet another talent revamp is interesting for a short while during its freshness but it's inevitable that there will still be the better talents, and the talents that will never be taken.

This is terrible. The WoW is getting worse and worse ever since WOTLK. So happy I've quit WoW more than a year and an half ago, I still have my great memories of it instead of the joke it is today.
They are basing an expansion on an April's Fools joke. I don't think it can get more pathetic than that.
|
They have completely gone off the deep end with that game.

stop posting "this is bad" and post why this is bad, i want to hear the reasoning behind these thoughts. How can you tell if this is any worse than all the other stuff they have done? They surely won't lose a single word about the typical "best item before addon is worse than first random drop from new addon", so how can you tell from just knowing that there's a new continent, a new race, a new class, and new public raids or whatever that was earlier?
/edit: Also, why has no-one mentioned this yet here: this addon should be called World of Kung Fu Panda xD that trailer just now of the pandaren monk fighting sealed it for me. i'm definitely not going to call it anything else.
|
I don't understand.. I guess this will be appealing to the female and <10 year old fan base.
Or maybe it's a business plan to boost d3 sales.. or Star Wars sales???
|
can someone post reactions from WoW community? I've never played the game, but having PANDA race seems to be fucking funny to me.
|
I think it's ridiculous and it shows they've absolutely run out of ideas or are just trying to make filler expansions between the ideas they do still have but can't release because they need to keep wow running for atleast 5 more years ![](/mirror/smilies/puh2.gif)
To me pandarians was a "joke" hero in wc3:tft and to add them to the warcraft universe like this is just insulting really
|
They must be trolling us....
|
So this is not a joke? Blizzard actually shows really obviously how much they care about players and how much they care about money. How is this game still alive, I do not know,
|
looked like an epic troll in the trailer lol
