So...I have been watching that new show, 'The Walking Dead'.
I love it, I can't believe no one thought of doing a TV series like this before -to my knowledge-, it's wonderful.
However, I do have a question...
Would you like to live in the world we live in now, or a zombie infested one like in the TV show? (Poll below)
Poll: Do you want to live in a Zombie infested world instead of ours?No (402) 53% Yes (279) 37% It depends on... (82) 11% 763 total votes Your vote: Do you want to live in a Zombie infested world instead of ours? (Vote): Yes (Vote): No (Vote): It depends on...
EDIT:
Okey, to clarify a few things:
- ammo, FREE, but find it on your own - Zombie type - the kind in The Walking Dead (slow, make you "sick" by biting) - Your family is safe - There are other survivors, a few, but not a lot. The world would be rebuilt eventually
Also -- I think some people took this as a super serious life decision. I was speaking hypothetical, like if you could live within a TV-show or movie. If the actual decision came up and I had to choose between this life and zombies, I would choose this life.

might actually be able to use what ive learned from the zombie survival guide xDDDD

Hmmm lets see... scared for my life everyday. Hard pressed to find clean water and food, where I know my food supply is slowly dwindling and I will die of starvation in a few years.
Scared to sleep, scared to go out on my own, wondering when the next person I love is going to be bitten and I will have to shoot them in the head, as tears roll down their cheeks, pleading for me to stop, telling me that they are really ok.
A world with no electricity, no tv, no internet, no music, a world where I want to have a fire because I'm cold, so cold, but I'm scared the light will attract the zombies.
A world where everything around me is slowly dying more and more as nothing is replaced simply used, and I know its only a matter of time until my shelter is broken into.
A world where every second of every day is filled with the moans of the dead, calling to me, wanting to kill me in an excruciatingly slow death filled with biting and clawing.
Ya no thank you.

Money is just the compartmentalization of all kinds of worries. Food, clothes, shoes, water, shelter. You'll be worrying tonnes (forgetting about the zombies...)
Go back packing man. Hell you can get 2 month of unlimited travel from greyhound for less than 500 dollars. Visit anywhere in North America and switch cities and towns as much as you want to.

depends on how alive the corpses look.
i suppose i can handle necrophilia if all the cadavers look like megan fox
|
I am surprised how many people are actually voting yes on this poll. The idea that a zombie infested world would be preferable to this one is ludicrous. For all the faults this world has I personally have become accustomed to going to sleep at night without worrying about something eating my face.

Are we talking lone wanderer 98% of humanity is dead or random zombies in the middle of the road in the countryside?
|
In a world where the dead walk, there is no Internet.
Or Starcraft.
|
I guarantee you that if it really happened 99.99% of people would say no.

If this world was going to end in my lifetime, i'd rather the reason be zombies than anything else.

Meh, I'd have to take a pass. While cool, the fun would wear off after a while once electricity, running water, and such started to disappear. Also food would be a bitch to find, finding permanent shelter would be impossible, and your actual chances of surviving the initial pandemic phase and making it to the survival phase are incredibly small. Zombie survival skills are something to be trained in the hope they are never needed. After all, the first skill is knowing your odds of survival are small, and every little action you take helps, but never assures, survival.
BTW- I spend way to much time thinking about these sorts of weird things.

Anyone who says yes are either insane, retarded, or haven't thought of the consequences.
|
People say yes because this "computer" culture we have lately believes they'd survive where a bunch of other people would not because they know what to expect.
I personally wouldn't want a world wide apocalypse...it's just not good.

If you wanted to live in zomboobie apocalypse world, all you have to do is move to buttfuck nowhere Africa (Perhaps the Congo).

it depends on if i have infinite ammo, weapons and rations.

Bring on the zombies! Do you really think the nerds of the world will A. be dumb enough to not know what's going on and take precautions. B. save the internet.
Ya, I'd be happy if a majority of the population was no longer alive.

Any topic dealing with a zombie apocalypse has too many variables unaccounted for. What kind of zombies? What kind of destruction? What phase are we at in the zombie uprising? What kind of technology is left? Are animals effected by these zombies? How is this disease spread? Etc
In certain situations of course zombie apocalypse would rule ass. However, most realistic situations cleeeeeearly show that it would be harsh.

Also let me just say this to you:
1) Go into your pantry, pick up a can of anything (your spagetti-os, canned corn, w/e) and look at the expiry date. Most are within a year, maybe 2. So now you know you only have 2 years untill all canned food is now useless to you... well unless you like dying to terrible terrible bacterial infections and such...
2) Take a can of coke, and sit it somewhere for 6 months. Lift up that can, see what happens? The coke will eat through the bottom of the can. This means you have about 6 months for any carbonated beverage to be gone.
3) Everything but pure sugar has an expiry date, even mustard will go bad in 3ish years.
This means you will probably have to by the 3 year mark find somewhere to grow food... if you can find seeds, and enough water, and if you've lived that long, and can find a piece of land with no zombies on it to do so, or face starvation.
Good times .
Which means probably after 2 years, if you've found that much food... you will then slowly die to starvation over ~21 days (if you have enough water... but that is another thing all together). Ironic as you will be starving in a house, while the zombies will be starving outside of your house .
