I'm sure they will look to address it somehow at some point. They are not yet publishing a list of things to expect in 1.0.7 and there very well could be some kind of incentive added to playing in other acts (besides the change in scenery). PVP, monster density, and reflect damage seem to be the hot topics as far as the official forums and reddit look over the past couple of weeks so the devs may be assigned to one or more of those issues for the next major set of changes.
As far as Izual is concerned, if you like Act 4 you can probably stop your route before him as Izual + Diablo is a huge time sink and not worth the time in my opinion. If you like killin act bosses for fun, you should do that once in a while. Siege breaker + Azmodan may be refreshing even though most of the route is already familiar. Maybe add Ghom as well?
When I am looking for something fresh to do I join a public game. They are not completely bot-infested yet.

Not inadvisable, but generally if you go as a group, each person uses one of his machines, hence giving you three shots per machine you have. So you kinda get more value for your machines. And of course apart from that you have more people with you, and all the benefits it brings. Much like anything else in diablo, as long as you have the dps and survivability for the ubers you can beat them.

So with that in mind, I think it's pretty tame in comparison to other ways rich people decide to splurge. If you fucking love diablo, then I would argue that spending thousands on items is a better choice then buying a $10,000 bottle of wine or something else lol.

A friend and I are finishing up our final project for our machine learning class, and we've decided that trying to estimate the sell value of amulets in d3 based on their stats would be a really interesting problem to tackle. The problem is, it seems like it's almost impossible to get data out of the auction house in any reasonable way, and we need more data.
So, we set up a website (http://people.oregonstate.edu/~merriler/) that lets people submit information about recent amulet purchases/sales. If you've bought or sold any amulets recently, I'd really appreciate it if you took a few seconds to fill out the form on our site so we could better train our algorithm.
If there's any interest, I'd be happy to post our results around here if we manage to produce anything interesting. Thanks!

Izual take so long to kill anyways; that even with the guaranteed rare he isn't worth stopping for (from an efficiency standpoint).
By putting the plans on A4 instead of A1; Blizz basically acknowledged that A4 isn't worth farming. So who knows if they'll do anything. It's not like they can just add more areas to run around...
So who knows; maybe they'll add in some more events to A4.
Actually; the most annoying change/bug to me is that mini-quests don't drop guaranteed rares (Forged in Fire, Forsaken Farm, Turning the Tide, Sardar's, Khan Dakab, ect); which is doubly annoying since they took out the resplendent chest on Sardar's and Khan Dakab!
On a side note: Decaying Crypt in A1 is the new jackpot though; a bunch of elites on lvl 1; then an event *and* working resplendent chest on lvl 2.

Yeah you probably could have easily gotten 2 billion on the gah and at the current gold prices you could have sold that 2b for $700 (before tax). If its over 2b you have to use the battle.net forums, d2jsp, TL, wherever else you can think of.

Just a small correction btw; the sale price was 7.5k euro, which is still mind boggling to me. And of course this item was flipped off the RMAH where someone put it up for 250 euro...
