I've kept up patch-note wise, so I know all 'bout that, just wondering where people are farming these days now that you've got the same drop rate all over the realm? I mean Keys are obviously a parameter, but not counting that, is VotA still the way to go or what? A3 hands down. Look into alkaizer runs for sick XP farming speeds.

I didn't know you could do that but still, they may as well have it show up in the AH anyways.

Do you know if they plan to do a ladder reset ? Because it's really depressing when you hear people talking about hundreds of million gold or even billion and you're struggling with your ridiculous couple of millions :p Besides people who started playing early could abuse a lot of bugs/exploits/op stuff, etc... (I know there is no ladder season but maybe they could implement them) As for people who bought items in the RMAH maybe they could not reset those ? Dunno if it's possible !
Other question : does an AH app exist ? Like using the AH in your laptop/cell phone without having to install D3... Would be cool.

the EU client now has a system message displayed upon login, that tomorrow night battle.net will be down and patch 1.0.6 will be rolled out. i couldn't find any further info or changelog, has anyone more details?
edit: the only thing i could find:
Diablo III Patch 1.0.6 - v.1.0.6.13300 Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue that allowed players to bypass the one-second trade timer when exchanging items via the Trade window Fixed an issue that caused the same item to occasionally drop for players using Threatening Shout with the Grim Harvest rune
seems like a minor patch, although these might not be the full patch notes

There is no ladder, meaning that there is nothing to reset. If you mean to take all the items and paragon levels away from people, then no, they won't reset that. Will harvest way to many complaints.

Seems like thats all to it, a pretty minor patch, about 7 mb.
Does any one have this problem(not related to patch)? Magdha's lair lags massively. It really feels like the game is grinding to a standstill. Before and after the fight, but it's outside, only in the boss battle area.

Expansion = max level increase to 65 or 70 or something and all those paragon levels will be as obsolete as everyone's "vanilla" gear. It will probably turn into a feat or strength and the introduce something lame like "titles".

did you play d2 actively? Ladder was really the only thing that made the game fresh. I think absence of ladder, pvp and general itemization philosophy are the biggest drawbacks from d2 -> d3.
I have played about 5-6 hours this last week with the holiday break and I have to give them credit. The patches have made the game much nicer. I don't think I'll put the time in like I did at release or I did with d2 just yet but at least they are making nice strides forward. Prices were so low with just a few million I had left from the last time I played I was able to upgrade my gear to run MP5 ACT3 quite easily. It really seems poverty or bill gates on the AH right now. So many great starter/mid items for dirt cheap and then 500M-1.5B for the 'good' stuff. Luckily you can clear quickly and efficiently in ACT3 for dirt cheap.

if they had given me an option on d3 between just playing and playing on a ladder, i would not have played on a ladder. i dont care about leveling my guy up to 60(100) as fast as possible since i dont have the time to compete with college kids. i just want to play, level my sorc to 60(100) and then quit the game so i can move on to HOTS. a reset of my char would just piss me off.
instead of resetting everyone's character, they could just create a ladder and let people join that. similar to hardcore, it would have a separate AH.
also, i dont think they can reset our characters, period. you cant sell items on the RMAH and then take them away without previous notice i would imagine.

So this ss with -18 lvl req just sold for 45m (the buy out I half jokingly set). Is -lvl req really worth that....I put a starting bid at 1m just try to make a little bit on it - never thought it would be one of my more profitable finds in recent memory.

Well they didn't 'reset' your characters in the sense of 'destroying' it in d2 either (for a typical ladder season). You just didn't have access to ladder games, you had to play 'non-ladder' games. So for your purpose of just wanting to cap (100) and quit, you wouldn't be affected by a ladder, you would continue playing your sorc until your heart desired.
Ladder and the AH is quite a puzzle. Before it was easy, once your character was passed it's ladder you couldn't participate in 'ladder' games or acquire 'ladder only' items. You could still farm on your open character and have fun with friends or PvP etc.
I wonder if they would remove the AH if they ever entered ladder / non-ladder characters akin to D2. Maybe they could make non-ladder characters gold only AH without the ability to sell gold on non-ladder characters. It would still incentivize more casual players to play their non-ladder characters for character progression and general gameplay but remove some of the 'outside the game' factors like earning potential money. I don't know how that would work or how they would reconcile the AH with ladder seasons, would be interesting.

Some of us can't even stand the concept of "ladder". The problem with d3 is that it's just too damn limited / boring. Why would I want to do it all over? I can't even be arsed to do it now, for lulz, with a decent char, and I got a collector's edition.
They need to introduce meaningful content and meaningful pvp....
