IntoTheRain
Im Sung-Choon

Achievements:

3rd place in the KPGA 1st Tour over ChRh
1st place Game-q Starleague over Boxer
1st place Gembc race wars over Boxer

"Starcraft 1.08 Build Order" by Intotherain, themarine and jinnam.

Im Sung Choon, better known as IntoTheRain started playing Original Starcraft since 1998, October, and started progaming since 2000, spring from Game-q Star League. He decided to start playing with Prototss, because Terran was too simple, and Zerg was too disgusting. And he always used to like some magic stuff before Starcraft, so decided to choose Protoss. Sung-Choon never liked crowded places, with people watching him playing. He mentioned in a number interviews, that he sweat a lot, and that he often made some mistakes when playing in front of massive live audience. He felt that he couldn't prove all his skills.
Before his progaming days Rain was in a guild called IntoThe, the very same team from where his apprentice, IntoTheRainbow, would also rise a bit later. When the guild was first founded, the leaders made a bunch of id's from which the players could choose from. Rain never got the best id in his opinion, IntoTheAiur, as it was already taken. So he was forced to take in his opinion the worst one, intotherain.

Sung-Choon made himself known by winning one of the Game-q tournaments finals vs boxer(3-2), and went later on to win the Gembc race wars also vs boxer( 3-0). Although Rain will probably stay considered as one of the best Protoss players ever, he never made it big in the Starleagues making it only to the second round twice, Hanbitsoft and Coca Cola starleagues.
The main reason why he never got to show his skill in high level OGN is probably what I've already mentioned earlier; he was pretty nervous to play in front of a audience. One of the things that seem to prove this point is that he annihilated most of the players in the Game-q tournaments because the games were played in closed chambers, no audience to worry about. Ironically considering the history with Boxer in Game-q tournaments, he was the one to drop Sung-Choon from his last Starleague, the Coca Cola Starleague. Although IntoTheRain did well against every race, he earned himself to be known as one of the best PvZ'ers because of his storms.

After his progaming career Sung-Choon, went on to become a commentator for KT-KTF. He also mentioned in his interviews of the possibility of opening his own internet café. But today now that IntoTheRain is long gone, and his apprentice IntoTheRainbow also fading, it is time to get nostalgic.

Interview with IntoTheRain by Manifesto7 and uhjoo, 2005

please help out, i really wanted to do rain, but it is getting waaay too difficult

TT - Park Sung Hoon - 박성훈
Race: Protoss
Birthdate: 22/04/1985
Current Team: Samsung KHAN
Former Team(s): N/A
Nickname(s): N/A
Trademark: Cheese, Proxies
Achievements
1st KeSPA Cup - 1st Place (Samsung KHAN)
Korea E-Sports Award for Best Teamplay 2006 (With Sigamari aka Zerglee)
Bio
Park Sung Hoon was one of the youngest progamers to play a televised game in his day. At the young age of 17, he played his first televised games in the Ghem TV Starleague. He preformed averagely going 1-2 overall. However his unique "style" was quickly exposed. Sung Hoon would be the master of the proxy strategies and cheese rushes. While at the time, fans had a mixed response to this, this would ultimately lead to him being labeled a "newb" by most of the community;
And yeah, [EroS]~TT's still a newb and he CRUMBLED under ChRh's methodical onslaught.
- mensrea

He would find some success in his 2nd Ghem TV appearance. His proxy/cheese rush style would be great for one-off matches. And consequently he scored wins against great players such as Seo Ji Hoon (Xellos) and Kim Jeong Min (TheMarine) but sadly, his strength did not lie in non-cheese games and crumbled against Park Jung Suk (Reach) preventing his advance any further.

In Proleague and Teamleague he preformed well for Samsung KHAN, scoring wins against Elky and Grrr in relatively quick succession. But could not be counted on for results when it mattered. And for this reason Sung Hoon never got that far past group stages in any major tournament. Also qualification for these tournaments would be up in the air, as his style is a very chancy one.

Sung Hoon would find his strength in 2v2. He, along with his partner Kim Geun Baek (Saferzerg) would be Samsung KHAN's primary 2v2 team from 2003 to 2004. He was also considered KHAN's main 2v2 force, even pairing with Choi Soo Bum (DoGGi) on Neo Jungle Story in some matches. Sung Hoon's 2v2 effort would go in vain until 2005, when KHAN picked up the valuable Lee Chang Hoon (Sigamari/Zerglee) who was the 2v2 specialist from SKT1. The two would become the 2v2 force behind KHAN's strong Proleague run in 2005.

Despite being the 2nd half to the 2v2 team, he received little credit as Chang Hoon took all the fame. Being a zerg player allowed him to play in all team matches on all map, hence got a far greater exposure. Nevertheless, the two were a formidable team.

Sung Hoon made a strong 1v1 effort in 2006 and it got some results for him. He cheesed his way into Shinhan 2 OSL, where he proceeded to Cheese his way over Hong Jin Ho (Yellow) (which made many people angry at him), cheese through the wildcards and then get out-cheesed by Lee Yoon Yeol (Nada) in the Round of 16. After this OSL effort he moved on to MSL, where he did poorly as well.

By many he is still considered an average gamer, and one that will never make it big. Often he is blamed for losing the 2v2, and has even been labeled a choke artist;
Sudden Death: TT > YellOw @ Arcadia 2
I swear OSL gave a freebie to YellOw. A choke artist vs YellOw on an imba Z map. Stupid KTFers and their stupid slumps.
- jkillashark
Still he persists in various leagues, and makes a strong case in 2v2. But ultimately, no one believes he will ever make it big.

ShinHwA[Name] - Choi Ka Ram - 최가람
Race: Zerg
Birthdate: 10/01/1985
Current Team: Lecaf OZ
Former Team(s): Plus
Achievements
N/A
Bio
Choi Ka Ram started out his Progaming career as an amateur. Just like every body else. But, in the year of 2003 he would begin his career. Lacking the backing of a team, and still essentially an amateur he participated in both the OSL prelims (for entry into challenge league) in July and December, and MSL Prelims in November. And again, through 2004 he participated in various challenge leagues. Winning the occasional game, and set- but never qualifying for the Dual Tournament or Survivor (he did however, make the challenge league). However, he remained unsigned all of 2004- but was picked up in 2005 by Plus.

In 2005 he made it into the Dual Tournament (after Dual and Challenge leagues were merged) however he lost. From here he began to make appearances for his team in Proleague. Despite having an abysmal T.V record, he never gave up determination and in 2006 he rose through the ranks rapidly. Following on from team mate Oh Yeong Jong's (Anytime) success in So1 OSL, Ka Ram looked to follow in his footsteps and aid in bearing the team through proleague with Yeong Jong. With such moves as fake-tech in zvp (he had 9 larvae and as soon as spire was built he spawned 9... fully upgraded hydralisks- promptly destroying the protoss) he was hyped up to be one of the greatest newcomers around.

After Shinhan 2005 OSL, the tournament was expanded to 24 players. Some fans complained that this was just to ensure that Lim Yo Hwan (Boxer) qualified for the OSL. In Group A of the 2 extra groups, Ka Ram went 2-0 and convincingly made it into Shinhan 1 OSL. After landing himself in a tough group (Lim Yo Hwan/Boxer, Park Ji Ho/Pusan, Byun Eun Jong/JJu) he went 1-2. Thanks to the newly invented wildcard round- Ka Ram was given a second chance at the Ro16. Defeating fan favourite, and newly revived Kim Sung Jae (Intotherainbow) 2-0 scored him a place in the Ro16. His opponent for this round would be none other than Lim Yo Hwan - who had defeated him in about 5 minutes in their group games.

The fans predictions were obvious;
Boxer will throw away one game for the sake of the fans, he's that sexy, but end up winning it anyway because he's just so hopelessly uber.
- Fireblast
lol there is no way boxer is going to lose this, you guys are freaking stupid if you think otherwise.
- rel
wtf you guys are on crack. How shinwa is even here is a mystery, and him beating a Boxer who's ona what? 15-0 streak tvz? is not gonna happen in this millennium.
-ToKoreaWithLove
No predictions needed because Boxer will beat ShinHwa so bad that it is already a fact.
-[X]Ken_D
The fans were dead wrong. Ka Ram defeated Yo Hwan 2-1 in the upset of the OSL. Fans around the world went crazy with disappointment, and often hatred for Ka Ram.
FUCK
- ilikestarcraft

In addition to this, it would be Yo Hwan's last OSL before entering the army.

However, for Ka Ram this would prove to be the highlight of his career to date. After defeating Yo Hwan, he lost to Hong Jin Ho (Yellow) 1-2 and proceeded to drop out of OSL- not even securing 5th or 6th seed (losing 0-2). Ka Ram was denied entry into all OSL/MSL's following Shinhan 1 and has played in very little 1v1 Proleague games; being replaced by the trendier Lee Jae Dong (Jaedong) for the position of number 1 zerg for Lecaf. His position in the team nowadays resides in the 2v2 team with Lee Hak Ju (Dongrae).
Dongrae and Shinhwa have been Lecaf’s ZT stalwarts throughout the season. Competent 1v1 players in their own right, they have considerable experience playing Vampire (they were assigned the map last season as well). They boast a 6-2 record this season, which compares favorably to even the highly regarded Samsung Khan 2v2 teams.
- thedeadhaji

The future is uncertain for this promising zerg player. But nonetheless, we wait to see what Ka Ram has in store for us next.

Notable Game
Too lazy to find any myself, tell me if you got any
