Just adding on to Cambium's excellent write up, since I have some stuff to add about Xellos's personal story.
Xellos - Seo Ji Hoon Nickname - Perfect Terran, DDR Terran Team: CJ (formerly known as G.O.)
In 2003, seemingly out of no where, Xellos vaulted onto the Korean Progaming platform, and claimed permanent stardom since then on.
During the 2003 Olympus Ongamenet Starleague, Xellos reached an astonishing win rate of 70%. He was undefeated on the map Bifrost and hence claimed his nickname, “perfect Terran” (his winning streak would eventually be ended by Nada). Xellos successfully advanced from the round of sixteen with a perfect 3-0 defeating Mumyung, [Oops]Lee and the favourite gnome cow-boy Chojja. Losing only to the ZvT monster Junwi, Xellos again advanced from his group and moved on to the semi-finals. Waiting for him there was none other than the Emperor himself, and this was where he pulled the biggest upset of the entire league, and showed to the world his true caliber. One set after another, within an hour, Xellos defeated the Emperor and crowned himself as the victor with a convince score of 3-0. Yellow on the other side of the bracket was secret smiling, for at last his rival was eliminated and he would be playing a rookie in the finals, OSL title was only a stone-throw away. The battle was gruesome, and the score went back and forth, but eventually, Perfect Terran emerged on top, and forced Storm Zerg to type “GG” in the final deciding game. Perfect Terran received his title, and Storm Zerg remained as “Mr. Consistency” and “Mr. Second”.
One year later, Xellos was crowned the 2004 WCG Champion. Although he was heavily favoured to defend his WCG title in 2005, he was defeated by Silent_Control in the elimination round, and his teammate ForU eventually took the title. Xellos's journey to the 2005 WCG Grand Finals was the subject of a documentary by the National Geographic Channel, the first time such in depth coverage had been offered to a pro-gamer on international television.
Soon after his achievements, Xellos dived into a deep slump. A potential cause of this slump was shortly discovered in his team’s dormitory. On a white board, this message was found: "If Xellos restrains from DDR*, he wins OSL~~". From then on, “DDR Terran” replaced his former nickname.
Xellos comes from a single parent family. His father passed away in a traffic accident when he was 12. Originally, his mother was absolutely opposed to his playing computer games and took several drastic measures to stop him. These included moving the computer to the living room, hiding the mouse and keyboard, and even doing away with the computer altogether. However, Xellos continued to play on the sly at night as well as in PC bangs.
When Xellos was signed on by the G.O. team, his mother claimed that she was only too glad to see him go. However, she eventually accepted his career choice and has since turned into a loyal supporter. Xellos has also been a filial son, supporting his mother with his earnings.
Xellos was once nicknamed "The Monster" and "The Monster Among Amatuers" before being signed on by the G.O. team. Since then, he has been seen as the lynchpin of the team, sticking with it even when the team could barely pay him.
* DDR also means masturbation "Ddal Ddal Re" in addition to Dance Dance Revolution.

Kingdom - Park Yong Wook - 박용욱 Race: Protoss Birthdate: 06/12/1983 Current Team: SK Telecom T1 (Captain) Former Team(s): Hanbit Stars, Orion, Dong-Yang team Nickname(s): Devil Toss, Tea Toss Trademark: Devilish micro, devil probe Favorite Unit: Dragoon and Probe Achievements Hanbitsoft OSL - 4th Place Mycube OSL - 1st Place SPRIS MSL - 2nd Place Sky Proleague 2005 - 1st Place (SK Telecom T1) Pringles 1 MSL - 3rd equal (with Midas) Bio
I believe all Protoss units have a lot of potential, they are just very hard to use. - Kingdom Park Yong Wook is one of the most formidable protoss opponents anywhere. Known for particularly amazing control (specifically probe and dragoon control) and for being one of the 3 original protoss kings he is one of the great protoss users of our time. It has not always been easy for Yong Wook he had to overcome parents, slumps and school to get to where he is today. In many interviews he states that the hardest time in his career was when he was fighting against his parents by going pro.
Before his contract with Hanbitsoft, Yong Wook was already a well established protoss user. He had already participated in various KBK tournaments but did not turn pro until much later due to his education. So when Yong Wook made his first OSL in 2001 (Hanbitsoft OSL) he was doubling as a part-time gamer and full-time student. Given his skill and how far he had advanced into the tournament, his teacher (who had taugh him during his time in KBK tournaments) realised his potential and gave him time off to practice for his match against Lim Yo Hwan (Boxer). Despite finishing 4th in he OSL, he did remarkably well for a full-time student.
Obviously, when he turned full-time pro in the late half of 2002 Hanbitsoft readily took him aboard. But to do so, meant that he had to turn his back on his parents. They were pushing for him to continue in his education, or be sent to the army and did not approve of his career. Nevertheless he went to Hanbit and lived his dream. Yong Wook would follow Lim Yo Hwan to Orion after Hanbit after he decided to leave he team. The manager for Orion, Joo hoon, talked to Yong Wook before recruiting him, and upon hearing the issues with his parent went to sought it out. Thus, Joo Hoon organized a conference in which he persuaded them to let him play with their blessing, thy agreed.
About this time he earned the nickname "Devil Toss". Popular myth would have you believe that the nickname stems from Yong Wook being the anti-Hero to Park Jung Suk (Reach). However, the real root of the nickname came from two things. Firstly, when he was little he would always root for the bad guy over the good guy; he would always try to be the opposite. And secondly
Well let’s see… it probably started around the Hanbit Tourney… I think it was Jong ill-hoon who said it first I guess that’s how nicknames start usually. At first it was weird but after a while I wanted it to have a strong impression so I worked harder -Park Yong Wook
In the MyCube OSL, Yong Wook would show an impressive semifinal against Park Gyung Lak (Junwi) defeating him 3-0, and then go on to defeat Kang Min in the final 3-1. This impressive MyCube performance solidfied Yong Wook's claim as the third Protoss King. Defeating Kang Min here would start the fan circles dreaming up the "ra > reach > kingdom > ra" triangle. This victory is also noted by Yong Wook as the highlight of his career, as he got to win in front of his parents.
After the expected OSL Curse slump, Yong Wook bounced back in 2004 blitzing his group 3-0 in Gillette OSL while simultaneously reaching the winner bracket semi-finals in SPRIS MSL. While just losing out to Na Doh Hyun (Silent_Control) 1-2 in the Round of 8 in OSL, he stormed through MSL; losing to Choi Yun Sung (iloveoov) in the winner's final, defeating Kang Min (nal_ra) in the loser's final, and losing again to Choi Yun Sung in the Grand Final 3-2. Yong Wook has remarked that of all terran players, Choi Yun Sung is the hardest for him to play against.
During WCG Korea 2004, Yong Wook lost 1-2 to Park Sung Jun (Julyzerg) but on Korhal of Ceres earned himself an unpimpest play award for preforming a proxy 2 gate zeal rush; only to trap his zealots in with his gates. This move, dubbed 'Kingdumb', has gone down in WCG and Starcraft history as one of the worst rushes ever preformed. Yong Wook was invited to participate in KT-KTF 2004 and preformed weakly, going 4-7 overall.
In You Are the Golf King MSL, Yong Wook would showcase another impressive performance. Notably against Kim Hwan Joong (Rage) on Arizona where he defeated a fully operational base with 2 dragoons (he had lost his main thanks to a zealot rush). This display of micro is one of the most impressive demonstrations of control recorded on T.V. and has been immortalized because of it. However, he did not go too far in the tournament losing in the Loser Bracket Ro8-2.
Yong Wook made appearances in Starleagues during 2005, but did not get out of the group stages. However, he did play a vital role in SK Telecom T1's 2005 Proleague victory. Aiding his team in winning both Round 1, Round 2 and the Grand Finals in 2005. He would also aid in the the 2006 Proleague Season 1 victory over MBCgame Hero.
Yong Wook also participated in both Pringles 1 and Pringles 2 MSL. In Pringles 1, he made an impressive showing; including a mind control rush against Park Jung Suk on 815 III, and demolishing old-time barrier Choi Yun Sung 2-1 and the Emperor himself- Lim Yo Hwan, on his way to the semi-finals. Despite losing to Kang Min (Nal_ra) 3-0, it was an impressive showing nonetheless. In Pringles 2 he again made an impressive showing. Against Lee Yoon Yeol on Blitz he showed some uncharacteristic insane macro, which completely destroyed his opponent. He eventually lost out to Shim So Myung (Silver) in the quarter finals.
Yong Wook assumed the captaincy of SKT1 after Lim Yo Hwan departed for the army and has not qualified for any SL's in 2007.
