Do you have a favorite progamer? Do you cheer wildly in your bedroom when Pusan rampages with his zealots? Do you giggle like a school girl when YellOw plays in proleague? (LastRomantic I'm looking at you!) Are you willing to stay up until 5am just to watch Sea crush the life out of another zerg? Then this is just the contest for you. We need an army of TL'ers to write.
TeamLiquid is looking for your enthusiasm and progaming knowledge to help support a future project. We need brief biographies written for the pro players that have entertained us over the years.
Entries shouldn't be too long, a couple hundred words or so are fine (obviously this varies depending on the player).
Entries should mention any achievements in leagues, play style, or foreign scene impact.
Any outside anecdotes are good to include (check out the 50 progaming incidents in the articles section for ideas).
Bertrand Grospellier was a member of the AMD / Hexatron franchise, one of the few proteams to carry active foreign players in Brood War. He began his televised playing career in early 2002, and finished in mid 2004. He played terran for most of his career, and is considered the second most successful foreigner in Korea after Guillaume Patry.
Elky's biggest achievement in Korea was reaching the semi-finals of the SKY 2 OSL in the summer of 2002. In the semi-finals Elky battled the Emperor, Boxer, in a best-of-5. That series was marred by controversy as Boxer used the allied-mine trick, causing a regame. Elky fell in the semi-finals to Boxer, and then lost a disappointing set to Yellow for the 3rd place spot. Nevertheless, no other player since Elky has even qualified for individual play, and his reputation as a legend is intact.
Outside Korea, Elky proudly represented his country at four WCG final tournaments. In the inaugural WCG in 2001, he made the finals after beating GoRush. There he had to face Boxer for the second time in the tournament but was unable to emerge victorious.
Elky retired from competitive StarCraft in 2004 and now plays professional poker for a living.

I encourage you to pick your favorite gamer and tell us what you know. If there are repeat entries for the same player, the best one will be chosen by the staff. I suggest you use the Articles Section and the Search Function to find all the information you can.
Your reward? Your name will be prominently featured on the player's profile page. In addition, the top writers for this contest will receive a contributors star on TL.
There is a great number of players to write about. The popular ones will of course fill up quickly. If you are a fan of a more obscure player, support them by writing them up! Players with no bio's are lonely T.T
First bursting on the pro-gaming when it was just only starting off, he impressed many with his Protoss vs. Zerg play, as well as his many uses of hiding buildings. Playing for Hanbitstars, winning two OGN Starleagues and being known as the protoss who has revolutionised modern P, he eventually retired, settling onto a life of commentating with OGN for Proleagues and game designing with a company. His last hurrah was during the Panasonic OSL, where, even though he was semi-retired, was able to put on an excellent last stand, especially against the Emperor, SlayerS_`BoxeR`.
GARIMTO won two major OnGameNet Starleagues in Freechal (defeating SKELTON, 3-0) and the Emperor himself in the SKY 2001 OSL, BoxeR (3-2), where the latter would go on to have a tough time in later OSL finals. Besides the OGN leagues, he would rarely appear in Teamleagues for Hanbit or KPGA Tournaments.
After his military service, he decided, it's time to show the world who was the best protoss. He quit his job as a commentator, and signed a lucrative contract with KTF MagicNs. He is listed on the roster as a player, but most view him now as more of a mentor and a coach. The TL.net community hope that he will be thrown for some games in the Proleague, to see how well he goes these days.
The most popular Starcraft progamer ever to grace the e-Sports scene, Boxer was originally a Protoss player, but the lack of Terran players changed his mind to make a full-time switch to Terran. His first major win was the Hanbitsoft OSL, a great victory for the Terran race and Boxer himself, as there were no Terrans at all the previous OSL. His near-undefeated run through the whole starleague (with only one loss to Kingdom in the semi-finals) would start a new era of pro-gaming.
Participating in 6 OSL finals, winning 2, losing 4, 1 KPGA Championship and 2 WCG's under his belt, Boxer has been touted as one of the most sucessful progamers ever. He, along with GARIMTO and YellOw, have been said by many fans as the people who have revolutionized modern pro-gaming strategies, with such strategies as the Tank Drop and the Double Barrack Cheese. Memoriable moments have also came from these finals, such as EVER 2004, Game 4 vs iloveoov with the do-or-die marine/medic rush which forced the series to go to Game 5 and Coca-Cola, Game 4 vs YellOw on The Ragnarok where he bravely managed to avoid an offensive sunken attempt to defeat him, also to make the series go to a 5th game.
After his loss to Reach in the SKY 2002 OSL, his father disputed with the team he was currently in, IS (now Lecaf), and Boxer was forced to make his own pro-team, initially containing talents such as Sigamari (who is in Samsung), IntoTheRainbow and the monster Terran, iloveoov. This team, Orion, would go on to become SK Telecom T1.
Boxer, like any other major sport star, has been marred by many controversies through-out his career, the IS-Father dispute just one of them. He has been bitter enemies with Autumn, for the abuse on Game-Q forums between them. Unfortunately they have never played eachother in a major tournament. The Elky allied mines incident, as well as KBS interviews have been other incidents.

마재윤 Ma Jae Yoon ID: sAviOr (formerly IPXZerg) Race: Zerg Team: CJ Entus Nicknames: Maestro, JesusZerg, Matler DOB: November 23, 1987 Notable Accomplishments: UZOO MSL Champion, LG CYON MSL Runner-up, Pringles 1 MSL Champion, Pringles 2 MSL Champion, Shinhan Bank Season 3 OSL Champion, GOM TV MSL Runner-up Other: KeSPA Best of Player of 2006
Anyone who has even been in the same room with someone who follows the StarCraft professional scene in the past year has heard his name before. Easily one of the most dominant players in existence and the most accomplished Zerg player of all time, he is currently termed "bonjwa", the best, by other players.
sAviOr first garnered significant attention by battling his way through the UZOO MSL in 2005. However, as he soon discovered, most of this attention was extremely antagonistic after he beat the perennial favorite Reach 3-1 in the finals. A spot in the OSL repeatedly eluded him, but in the meantime, he made it to the MSL finals three more times, winning two of them. His infamy continued to climb as he downed S-class progamers one after the other. Although he was slowly gaining fans, many still felt that he had much left to prove.
In the first Superfight commemorating BoxeR's expected hiatus from the progaming, sAviOr unexpectedly destroyed the Emperor 3-0. By this time, people were forced to acknowledge sAviOr's dominance. He also qualified for the subsequent Shinhan 3 OSL, and to give you a rough idea of his skill level, he was quickly the favorite to win the entire OSL despite being a first-time contender. He fulfilled those predictions by convincingly defeating NaDa in the finals. His only crushing defeat to date came at the hands of the rising Protoss star Bisu in the GOM TV MSL finals losing 3 straight games. Sporting an inhuman win rate of over 70% for 2006, sAviOr was also named the KeSPA Best Player of 2006 and has stayed at #1 of the KeSPA rankings for over half a year. In recent months he has also played in far more televised matches than any other progamer. Statistically his best match-up is ZvP followed by ZvT.
His gameplay can generally be characterized as macro based. His trademark build is 3 hatch muta into lurk contain with mass expand into hive tech, something that he employed extensively to great effect when he was less well known. His skilled use of defilers is, in particular, unparalleled. Despite his relatively low APM, sAviOr is widely feared for his abilities to multitask, anticipate his opponent's moves, apply heavy pressure, counter attack, counter counter-attacks, and overall control the flow of the game, simply dominating his opponents. As other players started to dissect his style and the number of matches he played shot up, he has adapted his play to be more unpredictable, often preparing builds tailored specifically for certain maps and opponents.
When giving interviews, sAviOr is extremely straightforward and confident in contrast to the humility often expected from successful progamers. He has also stirred up controversy in several notable incidents, such as putting all the OGN members in his group during the Pringles 2 MSL selection ceremony, his "yawn rape" of JJu, and picking Terran against his former teammate GoRush. His matches against Nal_rA are characterized by fans as a "holy war" with Nal_rA as the pope and sAviOr as Hitler, a rather controversial comparison in the eyes of foreign fans.
sAviOr has been an extremely influential player, not only by reshaping the Zerg paradigm, but also ushering in a new era of supremacy by fresh young players. His future goals include leading CJ Entus to the Proleague championship and winning WCG.
Casy aka Han Dong Wook (한동욱) Team:OGN SparkyZ Race:Terran Nickname : The Neo Emperor Other id's used : AdamaS, really[aLive], iOi[aLive] Birthdate: 1986-09-25 Age: 20 as of 7/5/07
Casy is a member of OGN SparkyZ, formally known as KOR. He entered the proscene in 2003 and continues to play today. He is a very strong Terran user known for his brilliant micro and creativity,as to the point that he has been called the "Neo Emperor", a reincarnation of the legendary SlayerS_`BoxeR`. He shows many resemblances to BoxeR, as they both have a strong TvZ and a very weak TvP.
He has won 1 OSL, the 2006 Shinhan Season 1 OnGameNet Starleague(OSL), defeating ChOJJa(Z,KTF) in the finals at a score of 3-1. Other achievements include placing 4th in the 2005 Shinhan OSL, losing to iloveoov in the semifinals(3-2) and PuSan in the 3rd/4th place match(3-0). He has also placed 4th in the 2006 Shinhan Season 3 OSL, losing to NaDa in the semifinals(3-2) and IriS in the 3rd/4th place match(3-0).

yeah its short and shitty hopefully someone can make something better ;o
More known as the second Wook on OGN Sparkyz (the other being Casy, Han Dong Wook), Cloud has not had many individual accomplishments, but has had many teamleague accomplishments to his name (thus being dubbed the Giant Killer). Some of these include beating Nal_rA on his premiere map, Guilltoine and Chojja on Incubus 2004 in the deciding match of the SKY 2004 Round 3 Finals.
For individual accomplishments, he has not done much as of late, having only appeared in 3 OSL's (Shinhan 2005, Shinhan 2006 1 and Shinhan 2006 2), with his best performance being in Shinhan 2006 1, losing in the round of 16 to his fellow teammate Casy (who would go on to win it against Chojja). On the other side, he has not had much sucess in MBC leagues, most famously losing to IntoTheRainbow to a tank/zealot combo in the minor leagues.
DarkElf. The mere mention of his name strikes fear into the hearts of the mediocre. Who among us can forget his breakout 2 win streak from the first round losers game of the K-SWISS ODT on Christmas Eve 2005, defeating the ZvT monster Mumyung and the machine Hwasin (30% vs T at the time) securing a place in the second round?
But alas, what goes up must come down. His subsequent 0-2 loss was a crushing blow; truly this was his darkest hour. Not one to stay down for long, in April 2006 DarkElf managed a triumphant win against another giant of ZvT, none other than ZergMan himself (over 35% vs T). But perhaps, like Icarus, he flew too high, as this victory of victories was followed by a small, six game losing streak spanning the rest of the year. The ensuing hours were very dark, perhaps even darker than his previous darkest hour.
But all who speak the name DarkElf know that he is not so easily dismayed. In 2007 he has outdone himself: This year he has won more games than he has lost, bringing his overall record to a nearly-winning 50%. He has beaten the best at their worst, and he has lost to the worst at their most average. He knocked an out-of-form Anytime out of Survivor, before losing in the final match to a never-in-form Justin. He has racked up wins against Nada, Sea, and FireBatHero, and losses against TheZerg, Cool, and Tester. They say a strategist's most powerful weapon is unpredictability, and there is none more unpredictable than DarkElf.
Nal_rA - Kang Min Nick name: Dreamer Toss, Flower Toss, Runny-nose Toss^^ Team: KTF
Nal_rA is loved and revered by fans and players around the world for his daring and unique play. Known as the dreamer toss, his strategies both baffle and outwit his opponents. His play has moments of brilliant micro and superb strategical sense. Along with Garimto, he is credited with much of the innovation that protoss players live by today.
His PvZ is one of the scariest matchups that has ever entered the proscene. He is one of the few players that can pull off the reaver/sair strategy effectively and uses it frequently. He also is known for building massive amounts of cannons earning him the nickname the flower toss. He forces his opposition to play safe with his massive amounts of cheese, but he has deadly straight-up play too that can decimate players when they least expect it.
His accomplisments include an OSL and a MSL, making him the only protoss ever to hold both championships in his grasp. He is also the runner up of both starleagues and has appeared in the MSL numerous times. He is one of the oldest protosses still in the scene and was a founder of the protoss race along with the other two kings, kingdom and reach.
Master of long, drawn out games, Nal_rA brought to us one of the greatest Starcraft BW moments of all time. It occured on Parellel lines against GoodFriend. He successfully pulled off a double-recall with hallucinated arbiters even when GoodFriend knew it was coming. Many a fans swear, it is easily the best game they have ever watched.
Clearly Nal_rA has shown and proven that he is and will remain among the greats of starcraft for all of time.
Hey this is just a suggestion for all you guys doing write ups. I think you should make sure you have all their achievements detailed out with the exact starleague name and the date. Also the more statistics the better. I'd try to keep opinions to a minimum unless they are mostly universally agreed on. But when I read these I'd like to be able to follow their careers chronologically with dates so I can see the progression of their career with highs and lows, and it just gives you a better overall understanding of the evolution of progaming and that player's role in it.
You can obviously write these any way you want but that's just my opinion after reading some of them.

Those will be taken care of. The writeups so far are exactly what are needed.
Only starting out as a humble foreigner who only came for WCG, he eventually stayed and became a progamer, pausing his degree on IT at University. Slowly starting out, he eventually was signed up by Pirates of Space (now MBCGame) along with Brian 'Assem' Fransciolli. He showed how he can be a weapon in Teamleagues, demolishing Toona SG 4-0 (with his victims Sirasoni, Ogogo, Goodfriend and Rock).
Eventually, Legionnaire transferred onto Hexatron with Assem again, to unite with other foreign progamers, Dan 'Rekrul' Schreiber, Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier and Guillaime 'Grrrr...' Patry.
Daniel Lee (manager of Hexatron, now eSTRO) used Legionnaire effectively in the teamleagues, downing players such as BoxeR on XenoSky, XellOs on Neo Forbidden Zone and ClouD on R-Point.
Eventually, after a controversial set of events which forced Legionnaire to forfeit his game against Yooi in the MBC Minor Leagues after beating Soo 2-1 in the preliminaries, he decided it was time to hang up the mouse and keyboard and go back to Australia and concentrate his studies.
Legionnaire was a fan with many Team Liquidians, oftenly posting his experiences in Progaming. His Korean Legion (pun intended) of fans came from his signature Wink after victory pose, as well as his super-reaver play, which if I believe, broke the record of kills (with 55).
Xellos - Seo Ji Hoon Nickname - Perfect Terran, DDR Terran Team: CJ (formerly known as G.O.)
In 2003, seemingly out of no where, Xellos vaulted onto the Korean Progaming platform, and claimed permanent stardom since then on.
During the 2003 Olympus Ongamenet Starleague, Xellos reached an astonishing win rate of 70%. In particular, Xellos did not lose a single match on the map Bifrost, and hence claimed his nickname, “perfect Terran”. Xellos successfully advanced from the round of sixteen with a perfect 3-0 defeating Mumyung, [Oops]Lee and the favourite gnome cow-boy Chojja. Losing only to the ZvT monster Junwi, Xellos again advanced from his group and moved on to the semi-finals. Waiting for him there was none other than the Emperor himself, and this was where he pulled the biggest upset of the entire league, and showed to the world his true caliber. One set after another, within an hour, Xellos defeated the Emperor and crowned himself the victor with a convincing score of 3-0. Yellow on the other side of the bracket was secret smiling, for at last, his rival was eliminated and he would be playing a rookie in the finals, OSL title was only a stone-throw away. The battle was gruesome, and the score went back and forth, but eventually, Perfect Terran emerged on top, and forced Storm Zerg to type “GG” in the final deciding game. Perfect Terran received his title, and Storm Zerg remained as “Mr. Consistency” and “Mr. Second”.
One year later, Xellos was crowned the 2004 WCG Champion. Although he was heavily favoured to defend his WCG title in 2005, he was defeated by Silent_Control in the elimination round, and his teammate ForU eventually took the title.
Soon after his achievements, Xellos dived into a deep slump. A potential cause of this slump was shortly discovered in his team’s dormitory. On a white board, this message was found: "If Xellos restrains from DDR*, he wins OSL~~". From then on, “DDR Terran” replaced his former nickname.
* DDR also means masturbation "Ddal Ddal Re" in addition to Dance Dance Revolution.
By.Flash aka Lee Young Ho (이영호) Team:KTF MagicNs Race:Terran Age:14 as of 7/5/07
By.Flash is a member of KTF MagicNs and blew into the progaming scene in early 2007, when he became the youngest Starleaguer ever after qualifying for the Daum OnGameNet Starleague(OSL) 2007. He is a strong Terran user who was initially known for his TvZ and his great control of bionic units. Flash has a strong sense of micro and macro, and can be compared loosely to NaDa, who is also known for his excellent multitasking and bionic control. Flash has shown very strong results, being undefeated in TvP and defeating the likes of iloveoov and Bisu in Daum OSL.
Unlike other young progaming prodigies such as Sea and Light, he has shown results early by placing in the semifinals of Daum OSL 2007. Flash has shown in recent matches a very strong TvP, being undefeated in that matchup(8-0) and having only 3 losses in his entire progaming career, to Boxer, Savior, and Hwasin. His record overall is 13 wins and 3 losses (81.25%), impressive for a progamer so young and inexperienced. He has been criticized recently by the foreign progaming community(outside of South Korea that is) for using 'cheese' strategies to defeat Bisu 2-0 in the Ro8 in the current Daum OSL(5/06- ).

Sync is probably the most unknown out of all OSL winners. He started off in the pro-gaming scene in Hanbitstars. He sneakily cruised easily through the group stages of the Coca-Cola Starleague, then to be hit hard in the Round of 8 which included the likes of Boxer, Yellow and IntoTheRain.
After some bum performances in the KPGA Leagues, his breakout was the unfortunate forgotten NATE League, where he managed to defeat the likes of fOru, ChRh and then eventually HOT in the finals 3-1.
Sync then started to fall into one of many slumps, after the Panasonic OSL, failing to make another OSL until EVER 1. Meanwhile, in the MBC Leagues, he started to show up into the leagues, but not doing big. During this, he transfered to KTF along with Reach, leaving behind a former-great team into trouble without their star players. He was also invited to the annual KT-KTF tournaments, but with unsatisfactory results.
He eventually snapped out of his slump, showing back his impressive Spark Terran form from a bygone era, with some brilliant games showing his style, against Siva, JJu and Eliza. His impressive performance in EVER 1 was short lived however, as he was taken down in the quarter-finals by Boxer. After this, some league appearances by Sync with unfufilling results would cause a catalyst, meaning another slump has arrived.
These days, Sync has been a poor performer for KTF, only appearing in 1 1v1 game this season (where he got smashed by Xellos). He has been mainly been used as a mentor/2v2 player, but to poor results. Many predict KTF are waiting for his contract to expire, then for him to retire, possibly joining the Air Force team after that.
The nickname Sparks Terran derives from the build Sync used to demolish his Zerg opponents, which was a 3 barracks -> +1 Weapons -> Academy build, with lots of firebats/medics. This build, along with Sync's ballsy micro, would break through any tough sunken line.
Flash just lost to Hwasin in Proleague on 7/4 and his overall record is 15-3 (83.33%) now. It's funny having all these old school players and then Flash with 18 total games but I really like him too so it's cool.
ID: July Zerg Name: 박성준 Park Sung Joon Nickname: God of War Team: SKT1 Race: Zerg
The age of Terran continued with Boxer's predecessor IloveoOv taking the crown of Terran King from NaDa. Since the very beginning of the Kespa rankings, November 2001, to March 2005, a Terran was at the top, but soon this would change for a new powerhouse was in town and he was not of the race of men. A new player by the name of JulyZerg arrived on the scene and stunned everyone with his fluid mutalisk control and agressive style. In the summer of 2004 at the Gillette OSL, July beat Reach in the finals 3-1 taking his first starleague title. Not only was it his first title, but the first Zerg OSL title as well. Not long after this though, he was hit with the OSL curse and fell off the OSL scene for a year losing 2-0 to Yellow in the quarter-finals of the Ever 1 OSL after barely clawing his way out of the RO16. After a season of rest the God of War fought hard towards his second OSL final in the IOPS OSL. This time his force was not enough and he was defeated in the finals by NaDa in a heart breaking 3-0 series. Getting trampled in an OSL final hurt ,but the God of War was able to keep his determination and hunger for another title. Again July made the OSL final in the Ever 2 OSL and this time he won 3-2 over NaDa's teammate, Goodfriend. In SO1, July lost to Iloveoov in the RO16, again succumbing to the OSL Curse. The following OSL July, for the fourth time, made the Finals in the Shinhan Bank OSL. The final was reminiscent of his final against NaDa though and he lost 3-0 to Iloveoov. In the KT_kTF premiere league #2, July took first over a fellow zerg Gorush in a 3-2 series.
iloveoov aka Choi Yun Sung(최연성) Team:SKTelecomT1 Race:Terran Nickname:Monster,Cheater,Busdriver,Gorilla(as affectionately named by our own forum members) Other ID's used: Birthdate: 1983-11-05 Age: 23 as of 7/5/07
iloveoov is a member of SKTelecomT1, recruited from the amateur rankings to join T1 by Boxer. Originally, iloveoov was known as a strong random player in Gamei, and a Zerg player later on, to be converted to Terran by Boxer(Not quite sure of the Zerg->Terran thing.) iloveoov is known for his incredible macromanagement; he has the strongest macro in the world without a doubt. He is known to be very close to Boxer, (who recruited him from the amateur ranks as stated before) who also took him as an apprentice and rival.
He burst into the progaming scene in 2003 winning 3 MSL's in a row, surprising everyone with his blunt and powerful macro-oriented type of play in an age where micro-oriented players were everywhere. He won 3 MSL's in a row and proceeded to lose to July in the finals of the 2004 iTV OSL 1-3. In total, he has won 3 MSL's and two OSLs(2005 Shinhan OSL against July and Ever 2004 against Boxer), as well as placing 3rd in 3 OSL's and 2nd in 1 OSL. He placed first in the 2006 WCG Korean Representative Preselection, defeating his teammate Midas, and went on to win the 2006 WCG by beating JulyZerg.

just because as this thread gets massive it gets harder to keep track of all of this
for example if you could make a list of all the pros you want covered (or i wouldn't even mind writing this up - or at least what i want covered - if you don't have one handy), and also note which have been done

whoops my source has bronze medals and gold medals, my eyes messed up ty
After watching a huge amount of vods and replays of progamers, he realized these progamers aren't that good, and declared himself one of the best protosses in the world. Unshaken from the comments made about his lack of skill and the accusation of him not knowing what explosive damage is, ahk-gosu comfirmed his stature by saying he had defeated some zerg progamers and handles pressure well especially after playing mufasa in his elementary school's "The Lion King".
Not known for his macro:
over 6000 minerals/gas combined while having only 86 population out of 116 max at over 33 minutes into the game
ahk-gosu is a micro oriented player incapable of hosting a reppack of himself, possibly due to the fact that he doesn't want any other players to study his style in case he plays in the korean leagues.
In a CLOSE series between himself and Tfeign.legend, ahk-gosu was dismantled by tfeign's hero dt [22 kills] and tfeigns army. The series itself is controversial as ahk-gosu had said he wasn't playing for real as it was a showseries and he hadn't plyed for weeks and was about to go to sleep. tfeign was then criticized for spamming hotkeys which the TL community frowned upon.
Canata aka Go In Gyu (고인규) Team: SKTelecomT1 Race: Terran Other ID's used: iloveoovJeju, Sea.Paris Birthdate:1987-06-25 Age: 20 as of 7/5/07 Photo:
Canata was praised by iloveoov and Boxer to be the next "big thing". iloveoov briefly mentioned him in his interview after defeating Boxer in the Ever 2004 Finals. He seemed to be a promising prodigy, as he was known to have defeated everyone in his team house during practice hours, but not making any major events and high standings due to bad nerves in front of the crowds and TV cameras. He seems to share this trait with his teammate Midas, also a T1 terran who seems to choke in front of the camera.
Canata has a good TvZ and TvT, but lacks in TvP with a win % of 35.29%(6 wins and 11 losses). A small reason for this might result in the fact that even though both iloveoov and Boxer had trained Canata and Midas as well, Boxer became Canata's roommate and Boxer is known to have a weak TvP but strong at TvZ and TvT. [Park Ji Ho] is the Protoss player that defines what it is to be a Protoss user today. The rate in which he improves is fearsome. I feel he becomes stronger and stronger, game after game. Now not only does he have a formidable macro but also a great strategic side to his play. - Lim Yo Hwan
In his younger years, Park Ji-ho was never the type to spend long days and nights playing games on a computer. His family did not even own a computer. One summer, his friends introduced him to the world of starcraft and within no time at all he was addicted. To practice he would tell his parents that he was going to the local temple to study then walk to the local PC-Bang to get some gaming time in. Despite his parents being barely able to make a living, when Ji ho wanted to get a computer to 'study' (play Starcraft) they bought him one. Ji ho was incredibly talented, within a year he was the top player in Junpo (his local region in Pusan) and won many tournaments, even winning $50 from placing first in a money-map tournament.
In 2001, after watching GARIMTO in the 2001 SKY OSL he decided to become a progamer. One of his school friends collected the details for all the managers in progaming teams and tried to get Ji ho a trial. He was accepted for a trial for team Plus. In his trial he beat every single member of the team and advanced so quickly that in 3 days he was able to play in the MBCGame Team Leauge. In his first ever television appearance, he crushed the foreign hope Bertrand (ElKy) of Hexatron. With this game he brought his 'Ji-ho mode' and unusual playstyle to the forefront and exposed the world to his macro. During his time on Plus, he formed a close friendship with his would-be rival Oh Yung Jong (Anytime[gm]) and the zerg player Sung Hak Seung (MuMyung).
In the early stages of 2005, after a turbulent time in Plus, Ji ho moved to Pirates of Space (P.O.S). During the fall season (So1 OSL), Ji ho, along with Yung Jong, took center stage blasting through to the semifinals of the tournament. Ji ho faced Lim Yo Hwan (Boxer) in arguably the standout Bo5 from the tournament. Although eventually losing 2-3 and then losing to Choi Yun Sung (iloveoov) 2-3 and coming 4th overall, he cemented his place in the progaming scene.
With his success in So1 he became one of the neo-toss kings, along with old friend and rival Oh Yeong Jong (Anytime) and Song Byung Goo (Stork). The following starleague, Shinhan 2005 OSL, was also good for Ji ho, despite losing to team mate Park Sung Joon (Julyzerg) 0-3 in the semifinals, he demolished future OSL champ Han Dong Wook (Casy) 3-0 to secure 3rd place.
Since then, Ji ho has met limited success, but showing some stellar performances nonetheless. At the beginning of 2006, Ji ho was caught on camera with what would be know as "Straw APM". At the last minute, Ji ho was included in the Mystery Map Invitational event which team Asia lost 2-3 to Europe (Ji ho lost to Fisheye 1-2). Also in 2006, P.O.S secured sponsorship from T.V. giant MBC to form MBCGame Hero; with Ji ho named as captain. Under his leadership, the team went on to win the 2006 Sky Proleague over SK Telecom T1. Ji Ho also participated in an IEF 2007 Showmatch against Chinese ex-progamer Luo Xian (LX) which he won 2-1.
Park Ji Ho cares alot about his parents, and feels remorse for going behind their back in his younger years. He loves them very much, and sent his first paycheck to them as well as supporting them financially through the time he has become a progamer.

Name: Firebathero - Lee Seong Eun 이성은 Nickname: BraQ, Blockbuster Team: Samsung KHAN DOB: March 2, 1988 Weight and Height: 180cm, 63kg
By PanoRaMa Last updated 7/5/07
The tale of this Hero is one that is wrought with emotion and a searing sense of self-determination. Lee Seong Eun's rise to stardom was quick and admirable, but was at the same time plagued with the realizations of his own shortcomings and the strive to find his own identity within the pro gaming world.
The Debut - Shinhan 2 OSL.
Firebathero made his presence known in the middle of 2006, sporting a unique ID and a stylish appearance. His first Starleague appearance would be in the Shinhan 2 OSL, landing himself in the same Group of 24 group as another debuting rookie, Bisu of MBCGame HERO. While Bisu would go onto defeat this group, composed of veteran ChoJJa and a then-unknown JiHyun uncontested, Firebathero found his way into the Group of 16 via a tiebreaker series, disposing of ChoJJa and JiHyun. Firebathero lost in the next round against another newcomer to the scene, IriS[gm] of CJ Entus, 0-2 in a best of 3. Dejected, Firebathero found himself headed to the ODT for Shinhan Season 3. Bisu would also lose 1-2 to Goodfriend of KTF MagicNs in this same round as well.
The Calling - Shinhan 3 OSL.
Firebathero's presence in Shinhan 3 was dwarfed by the fact that he was surrounded by players in a Group of 24 stage that boasted much better players than those in his Shinhan 2 group. A make up of previous OSL 2nd place winner Anytime of Lecaf Oz, YellOw[ArnC] of OGN SparkyZ, and Sea.Up of eSTRO would be a formidable test for Seong Eun. Only able to defeat Anytime in his group stage, Firebathero was sent to the wildcard stage where he faced two other Terrans, Shinhan 2 OSL winner and Pro Gaming legend, NaDa of Pantech EX, and Light[aLive] of MBCGame HERO. Grasping at his straws, Firebathero was able to beat Light[aLive] but not NaDa, which barely allowed him to advance to the Round of 16. Here, Seong Eun was able to oust the wiser, more experienced GGPlay of Hanbit Stars 2-1, using such strategies like Proxying a Factory into a fast Starport with 4 Barracks build, setting him up for a Round of 8 match against former OSL winner Casy of OGN SparkyZ.
It was this Round of 8 matchup that became Firebathero's calling - not only for him but for the fans he would make as well. After being able to take a win in the first game in a best of 3, Casy won both games after that to advance into the semi-finals. The hours of hard work and the multiple times of barely being able to hold onto that small glimmer of hope now meant nothing in this OSL. This photo, taken by Fighterforum, of Firebathero being consoled by his mother seared through the hearts of many.
Firebathero ended the season placing an impressive 6th place in the Shinhan 3 OSL. A month later, Bisu, whom had debuted in the same OSL as Seong Eun, stopped time and shocked the world with a mind-blowing 3-0 win against SaviOr of CJ Entus in the GOM TV 1 MSL Finals.
At this point, Firebathero's OSL (non-ODT) stats were 10-11.
The Identity - Shinhan Proleague 2007, GOM TV 2 MSL
Firebathero could not qualify into the Daum OSL 2007, but his hard work and increasing skill paid off. During the Shinhan Proleague 2007, his team Samsung KHAN made their mark as an unstoppable force - with 2v2 teams that were near-invincible, and 1v1 players that simply could not lose an ace match - or any match for that matter. At the forefront of this domination was Stork, who had begun to rise as a top-tier player, being undefeated for his first 8 games in the Proleague. Eager not to simply follow Stork's shadow, as of this writing Firebathero has yet to disappoint, being 9-1 in the Proleague, with 8 of those wins being in TvT. Many of these wins directly resulted in the emergence of Firebathero's persona - that of a hard-working, determined, yet lovable and immature player, evidenced by his victory dance ceremonies.
The Proleague ran concurrent with the GOM TV 2 MSL, wherein Firebathero had been posting impressive results as well. When he completed MSL Survivor, Firebathero was asked who he wanted to meet in the MSL. His response was "I want to meet Bisu. We became progamers at the same time. But he has already won a major league, and I don't want to be chasing behind him. I don't want to fall behind someone I started at the same time with." (Credit to Fighterforum, translated by LosingID8) As Bisu had already stunned the world, Firebathero eagerly awaited his chance to make himself known.
In his Round of 32 group, Firebathero was once again the underdog amongst a sea of favorites: The Emperor, BoxeR, had recently returned as a pro gamer for the Air Force and had turned heads after his completion of MSL Survivor. Nal_rA, the most consistent Protoss player of all time was also in this group as well as renowned TvT artist Canata. Despite being amongst such players, Firebathero was able to make his presence known after striding through the stage with wins against BoxeR and Canata.
Defeating two Terran titans was certainly a credit to Firebathero's quick improvement and overall prowess. On May 27th, three days after his wins, he faced Cloud of OGN SparkyZ in the Shinhan Proleague in the 4th set, where Samsung KHAN was trailing. In an hour-long game, Firebathero made a devastating comeback after being at a significant economic disadvantage for half the game and defeated Cloud, forcing the match to go into the Ace round where Stork was able to bring KHAN to victory.
Making such headlines for his TvT play was necessary, as his next opponent in the MSL was the famous Iloveoov of SKT1. After losing the first game, Firebathero was able to defeat Iloveoov in the next 2 games and proceed to the Round of 8. He would face SaviOr, the very player Bisu defeated to achieve fame, in a best of 5. The first game was climactic and deservedly so for a matchup of such proportions, lasting almost an hour long, Firebathero made an incredible comeback akin to his match against Cloud, and won in what many call the best game of 2007. Firebathero would end up winning the series 3-2, being one of the two Terran players in the world who could honestly say that they have defeated SaviOr in a best of 5 matchup.
Firebathero's path to glory faced an unfortunate roadblock - in the Round of 4 he was set to play his teammate and fellow rising star, Stork. Seong Eun lost the series 2-3, thereby crushing his wish to face Bisu, who was able to qualify again into the MSL finals.
The BraQ - An Aftermath
Firebathero's trek towards a championship surely does not end here. As of writing, he is still able to place 3rd into the current MSL, and he is already seeded for the next MSL as well. Firebathero's success in the Proleague has cemented his role within his team as a star player.
His play has evolved from being a standard Terran with mediocre micro/macro into one that strives to dazzle the crowd with neat tricks, whether it be using Nukes, using Restoration against Plagues, or Proxying Barracks in the tie breaking game of a best of 5 against the best player in the world. His play has become much smarter overall, from being able to perfectly dictate the flow of the game (vs. Sea.Up 7/2/07), conducting successful comebacks (vs. Cloud 5/27/07, SaviOr 6/24/07) to even being able to perfectly predict and counter certain build orders (vs. Stork 7/5/07 game 4).
Firebathero has faced many opportunities for success. These opportunities, however, are razor thin - whether it be advancing into the next stage via wildcard/tiebreaker multiple times, or being only 1 game away from progressing. However, his career, despite the emotional shortcomings at times, has been constantly improving with each Starleague appearance. While Bisu may very well win a consecutive MSL title, Firebathero will not be too far behind.
So here's a shorter version that took 1/32 of the time it took me to write the longer version:
Firebathero debuted in the Shinhan 2 OSL and was able to make it to the Round of 16 before losing to IriS 0-2. His second OSL appearance, in the Shinhan 3, acquired him more attention, after defeating GGPlay with flashy control in the Round of 16, and then losing to Casy in a close series in the Round of 8. Firebathero eventually placed 6th in the Shinhan 3 OSL.
His losses facilitated what could be assumed an extensive, determined training regiment, as his subsequent appearances displayed a tremendously-improved Firebathero. He is currently 9-1 in the Shinhan Proleague 2007, with 8 of those wins being TvT, solidifying Firebathero as a formidable mirror match player. In the GOM TV 2 MSL, Firebathero was able to defeat players such as BoxeR, Canata, Iloveoov, even the near-invincible SaviOr, landing himself in the Semifinals. He lost to his teammate Stork in this close series, and as of this writing has yet to play the 3rd/4th match to determine his overall placing in this MSL season.
Firebathero's recent improvement has cemented himself as a TvT specialist and an ace player for his team, Samsung KHAN, and is known for his humorously immature victory dance ceremonies.

ZeuS - Jun Tae Kyu - 전태규 Race: Protoss Birthdate: 13/02/1983 Current Team: Ongamenet Sparkyz Former Team(s): Korea E-sports Team (KOR) Nicknames: Sense Toss Trademark: Cool ceremonies Achivements Stout MSL - 3rd Pace NHN Hangame OSL - 2nd Place Sky Proleague 2005 - 3rd Place (KOR) 2nd KeSPA Cup - 2nd Place (Ongamenet Sparkyz) Bio Zeus is one of the original Protosses of professional gaming, and consequently is one of the older players in today's leagues. His strength lies in PvT, but originally found PvZ easier. He also is a fan of open center maps (like Luna). During his schooling he was given many nicknames, two of note are "Psycho" and "Rascal". Zeus quickly found starcraft success and from humble beginnings joined up with KOR. Zeus, along with SC_Side, carried KOR through KTF Ever Proleague and into OGN Neowiz Pmang Proleague.
Zeus made his move on the scene in April 2003. In Stout MSL, Zeus tore through the competition ending up 3rd after losing to Nal_ra then Nada. He also became synonymous with his awesome ceremonies during this time. The fans loved it, and Zeus became one of the most feared Protoss users as well as one of the most loved.
Following up from his success in Stout, Zeus moved onto the NHN Hangame OSL. Here, Zeus did remarkably well and won many fans along the way. Zeus defeated Silent_Control 3-0 but could not take on Nal_ra - losing 1-3. Zeus reached peak success about this time and was considered one of the greatest protoss of his era; along with Kingdom, Reach and Nal_ra. During this time he became the Ace for KOR.
Sadly, after NHN Hangame, Zeus slumped badly. Losing in both OSL (loss to iloveoov in the Quarter of Gillette OSL and failing to qualify for Ever 1 OSL) and MSL (0-2 in Trigem MSL and failing to qualify for Hanafos CENGAME MSL). Zeus himself has said that this was the most difficult time of his career. His position of Ace in KOR was given to Cloud and CaSy. Struggling to find form through 2004-2005 he did manage to aid KOR in achieving third place in Sky Proleague 2005. In 2006 Zeus was selected for the Mystery Map Invitational to play for team Asia, and was demolished by ToT)Mondragon( 3-0.
Following MBC's and CJ's sponsoring of Proteams, OGN followed suit sponsoring KOR. Thus, Ongamenet Sparkyz were born, with zeus as a critical component of the team. For the new year, each member of Sparkyz announced their resolutions for the forthcoming year on "G-People" which screened on OGN. While the rest of the team gave the expected "Do better in the leagues", Win OSL" and the like, Zeus gave a different and more insightful resolution. In the words of SuperJongMan;
He said no matter what, the death of a gamer is not when he cannot win or secure titles, but rather, when a gamer no longer has an impact in things. Zeus had felt that his 2 year slump was pitiful and weak. It's almost as if he had to re-adjust from becoming top tier to a bottom rung protoss. Still, during that episode, Zeus vowed to become an "impact gamer"
Zeus has followed through with this resolution and become an impact gamer for Sparkyz as their leading 2v2 specialist.
Currently, Zeus has become almost exclusively a 2v2 player. The Yellow[name]/Zeus duo is considered one of the top 2v2 teams alongside KHAN's team Sigamari/TT. Zeus plays the dominant role in the 2v2 team and usually decides which strategies to use.
Guillaume "X'Ds~Grrrr..." Patry Nicks: PlayGrrrr..., GiYoM, The~Insane~Frog Date of Birth: Jun. 19, 1982 Nationality: Canada Team: Retired Former Teams: Hexatron
Achievements: Third place at the AMD Professional Gamers League Season 3 championships under the screen name "The~Insane~Frog" Winner of the Spring 1999 AMD Professional Gamers League StarCraft tournament over SOSO Winner of the Battle.net StarCraft: Brood War Tournament World Championships 1999 over [B_Blade]Leader Winner of the Hanaro Communication Tooniverse Starleague 1999-2000 over H.O.T-Forever Winner of the OGN King Of Kings tournament 2001 over TheBoy 3rd place at Hanbitsoft April - June 2001 over Kingdom 3rd place World Cyber Games 2003 over Silent_Control
After dominating the first few online leagues arranged by Blizzard and AMD Professional Gamers League, Guillaume "X'Ds~Grrrr..." Patry turned his eyes to Seoul, South Korea, the perfect place for a progamer. Guillaume moved to S.Korea in the year 2000, and became an icon of Starcraft. He was the only foreigner in there at the time and was basically rolling over any obstacle. Patry never actually was a hard training player, more of a clever one who understood how the game works and used his strategic insight to win games. Over the years Reaver drops as well as his tendency to perform "gasrush" became Guillaume's trademark-strategies. As his era was before the time of flawless game mechanics, the upcoming players started to crush and dominate him by simply training more than him as well as the new Replay-feature, that came out with the 1.08a patch, ruptured his superior strategies. The biggest trouble for Guillaume became some SlayerS `BoxeR`. Patry used hotkeys very little by only controlling his units with them and leaving the buildings be, thinking useless hotkeyspamming was useless. Although the period of his dominance and success all in all in Korea was very short, he left a big mark on the progaming scene. He was the most innovative Protoss player of his time and his achievements in creating new strategies for the race can easily be compared to what boxer gave to Terrans. His favorite matchup was PvZ, and he gave an insight of his strategies in an interview done by SCLegacy in 2001. "My favorite match up is Protoss vs Zerg. I don't mean that I win PvZ all the time, but I mean that I like to play it. What I like to do against a 3 hatch hydra user is a simple zealot rush with fast gas, then stop making zealots after 5, tech quickly to templars and possibly expand even before my templar archives is done. Then I get psi storm/archons and zealot speed. I really like to get fast templar and fast expansion, and it's the best way. It works best at 12:00 on lost temple." At the time the interview was done, Guillaume had cut playing Brood War to 20 hours a week and he had started to get interested in other things in life. Soon after our most shining foreign star started to fade only to come and take his third place at WCG 2003.
Sigamari a.k.a Zerglee - Lee Chang Hoon - 이창훈 Race: Zerg Birthdate: 04/11/1984 Current Team: Samsung KHAN Former Team(s): Orion, SK Telecom T1 Nickname(s): The Commander (2v2), Nexus Killer (1v1) Trademark: Killing many Nexuses in ZvP Achievements: KTF Ever Proleague - Most Valuable Player KTF Ever Proleague 2003 - 1st Place (Orion) MBC LG IBM Team League - 1st Place (Orion) MBC Tuscan Team League - 1st Place (Orion) KeSPA Cup 2005 - 1st Place (Samsung KHAN) esFORCE Magazine Best Teamplayer 2005 Korea E-Sports Award for Best Teamplay 2006 (With [EroS]~TT) Bio: Lee Chang Hoon, the most dominant player in Proleague. Chang Hoon Currently holds the most number of wins and most number of appearances in proleague to date. Chang Hoon's field is not the ever so glamorous 1v1 stage, but teamplay. Chang Hoon is the greatest 2v2 player to ever grace the battlefields of Starcraft.
Despite doing very well in local teamplay events, he focused primarily on 1v1 until he was recruited to join Lim Yo Hwan in team Orion. During his early 1v1 career, Chang Hoon was renown for exploiting any weakness a player would have in his base and consequently destroying their nexus or command center. This skill of his was particularly used against Protoss and the nickname 'Nexus killer' was born.
Chang Hoon never really made an impact on the scene until he persuaded Coach Ju Hoon to let him play in the match against the best teamplay combination of the time; Kang Doh Gyung and Park Jung Suk (H.O.T-Forever and Reach). Together with Kim Sung Jae (IntoTheRainBOw), he emerged victorious and was entrusted with all teamplay matches in the future. Chang Hoon left SK Telecom T1 in the early stages of 2005 for struggling team Samsung KHAN.
When Chang Hoon joined KHAN their victory rate was 30%. Within 6 months this percentage had increased to 75% and had won the first ever KeSPA Cup. In addition to this, paved the way for KHAN to reach the 2005 Proleague Season 2 finals against his old team; SK Telecom T1, which they lost 2-4. KHAN's dependence on Chang Hoon's teamplay became evident in 2006 when the league format reduced the number of teamplay games to 1. After this change, KHAN's winning rate dropped back to the 30% area. Currently, with inform players such as Song Byung Goo (Stork) and Lee Sung Eun (FireBatHero) and the ever dominant Chang Hoon, KHAN is placed first in the 2007 Proleague.
Chang Hoon spends an enormous amount of time on his teamplay strategies and attempts to show the audience that teamplay can be as interesting as 1v1. In an interview Chang Hoon said:
I like Lim Yo Hwan the best. He always makes the audience anxious, making them wait in anticipation. In the same way, I want to be a person that makes the audience come with great expectations for teamplays. I wish that teamplays will be acknowledged by all people, just like the individual games. I will strive to make this happen.
Chang Hoon shows this in his games very often. Whether it be using a Zerg/Protoss on a Zerg/Terran map, or using old strategies like Hydra-Gaurdian, Chang Hoon is always trying to be innovative and different. Samsung's coach Yoo Ji Kang ([Oops]January) has remarked that Chang Hoon is particularly good at teamplay due to his immense understanding of the different situations which can arise in the game. Hence, his other nickname, The Commander, for his unparalleled control and execution of teamplay strategies.

On July 05 2007 20:53 Cambium wrote: Xellos - Seo Ji Hoon Nickname - Perfect Terran, DDR Terran Team: CJ (formerly known as G.O.)
In 2003, seemingly out of no where, Xellos vaulted onto the Korean Progaming platform, and claimed permanent stardom since then on.
During the 2003 Olympus Ongamenet Starleague, Xellos reached an astonishing win rate of 70%, and hence claimed his nickname, “perfect Terran”. One set after another, within an hour, Xellos defeated the Emperor and crowned himself as the victor with a convince score of 3-0. Yellow on the other side of the bracket was secret smiling, for at last his rival was eliminated and he would be playing a rookie in the finals, OSL title was only a stone-throw away.

][Min][Gu][ - Kim Min Gu - 김민구 Race: Zerg Birthdate: ?? (anyone know?) Current Team: eSTRO Former Team(s): KTF MagicNs, CJ Entus Achievements: N/A Bio The name Kim Min Gu is not very well known in todays progaming environment. Yet this veteran has been around for many many years. Starting off as an unknown Zerg in KTF MagicNs, he remains an unknown zerg in eSTRO. Min Gu has never really shown us his full potential in a match. He occasionally manages to win large game; and usually by a lot. But, this has not been enough and has always stayed out of the top 25 in KeSPA rankings. Min Gu has found slightly more success in MSL as opposed to OSL.
Despite lacking fan recognition, he is a well respected progamer renown for his politeness and good manner. After defeating Seo Ji Hoon (Xellos) back in April 2005 they became good friends. Whenever Ji Hoon would go on battle.net, Min Gu would message him and they would talk and game. This friendship would ultimately lead to his arrival at CJ Entus after leaving KTF. Park Jung Suk (Reach) also remarked about mingu's manner as well as being his trusted PvZ practice partner.
Min Gu's peak in fame came around UZOO MSL. This came from something very unexpected... In the UZOO MSL opening he breakdanced. This humiliating feat gained him a small number of fans.. or were they anti-fans? At the end of the day, Mingu got his name in the progaming circuit and will forever be remembered for this one act.

Siva - Ahn Seok Yeol - 안석열 Race: Zerg Birthdate: ?? (if anyone knows plz tell me) Current Team: Retired (Army Service, declined ACE) Former Team(s): Samsung KHAN, Hexatron Dream Team, Pantech & Curitel Curriors, Pantech Ex Achievements: N/A Bio Ahn Seok Yeol has arguably the saddest progaming story out of all pros who have their name immortalized by a game. The zerg player with an amazing amount of talent and one hell of a nice guy, retired in 2007 having accomplished nothing at all. In the words of jkillashark;
Every retirement reminds of Rekrul's Korea Story. He talks about how a bunch of young 20-year-olds who will never make it big into OSL or MSL gaining no work experience and pretty much becoming surplus people in Korea.
This is exactly what happened to Seok Yeol.
Seok Yeol was recruited by Samsung KHAN in 2003 was renown for his strong ZvP and good manner. He plodded along in KHAN playing teamleagues and was relatively unknown until the early 2004 when he played Lim Yo Hwan (Boxer) on Enter the Dragon 2004. This epic fight is now immortalized due to Yo Hwan's incredible control. And is still worth the watch today. In May 2004 in KHAN vs KTF Seok Yeol played another epic game against Byun Gil Sup (Sync) on Nostalgia. The match earned Seok Yeol a lot of respect amongst fans.
Later on in the year he went on to join Hexatron (same time as Leg, Elky, Assem and Rek were there) to fill the zerg hole the team had. While achieving nothing noteworthy during this time he was reported to be a really good guy. In 2005, Seok Yeol moved to Pantech & Curitel Curriors where he formed a close friendship with Park Yeong-Hoon (Stay[Hyo]). Together with Shim So Myung (silver) they formed the backbone of P&C's zergs.
In 2007 Seok Yeol announced his retirement and in his particularly saddening interview said:
-Who was inconvenienced most [by your departure]? ▶Pantech teammate Park Yeong-Hoon(Stay[Hyo]). We are same age, so I played with him, and worried with him. During my farewell party, we said goodbye feeling so sad. And we talked "after this, who would play with me?".
He also expressed no interest in joining ACE while doing his service in the military and said that he would begin a new life independent from e-sports.
While seemingly insignificant, Seok Yeol's story shows us the life of an ordinary progamer. Not one with amazing flare. Not one with incredible skill. Having never made the major leagues, his career in essence was a failure. But what emerged from his story is something one cannot win in tournaments; friendship and respect. It is always sad when friends like Seok Yeol and Yeong-Hoon must depart, and undoubtedly Yeong-Hoon will soon follow a similar path, but one would hope to think something has come out his friendships and time spent with KHAN, Hexatron and Pantech. What has Seok Yeol's story shown us? If nothing else, it is a reality check for those wishing to go pro and the difficult path one must walk to succeed, and the price of failure.

Sang-Wook Jeon was for a long time known for his fierce TvP match-up, which was widely accepted as the best in the world. His winning percentages in TvP have been breath taking throughout his career. Sang-Wook is a player who has never won anything big, but rather been a solid player for his team SKT1. He is probably one of the most consistent terrans in history, although slumping now pretty badly.
In 2004 people were amazed and many hadn't even heard of this DdangG as he was reaping through the WCG Korea with astonishing 10-0 stats and earned his place in the grand finals in San Francisco. At the grand finals he proved himself again and fought his way in to the gold-match to face Xellos. The games were intense but midas ended up being crushed 2-0 by The Perfect Terran.
The highlight year of Sang-Wook's career this far has been 2006. The year he placed 4th in MSL and 3rd in OSL and also gained 3rd place in WCG. In 2006 as some unknown Zerg called IPXZerg, better known as Savior, started to dominate the Brood War scene Midas was actually thought to be his best rival. By that year the TvP virtuoso had become very scary in every other matchup also., even his TvZ was also considered as one of the best in the world. Midas challenged Savior in the Ongamenet Starleague Shinhan 3 2006, by being seeded higher he picked him to his group. It was widely considered as a suicide move, but Baby-bear actually pulled it through and beat the Maestro. After the groupstages Midas got to pick his next opponent and he picked Ma Jae-Yoon again, but this time the prey fought back and sank Sang-Wook in to oblivion.
The 2007 first starleagues have been rough for him, being eliminated from both very early. Midas is still a very strong player but it seems he lacks selfconfidence even more than before, and right now he is showing the audience not much more than akward ceremonies.

ChRh is one of the oldest players in SC progaming, both by age and experience. During the early days of televised Starcraft, he was considered the best random player in the world, with toss being his primary race. His playing style is focused on economic domination. A game where he holds the initiative will see the opponent crippled by lack of expansions, with himself dominating much of the map. This have more than often left him weak in the early game though.
He peaked around 2002, finishing 3rd in the Nate OSL, grabbing 4th place in both 1st and 2nd KPGA Leagues, as well as in the second GhemTV Starleague. Around this time he also gave up on playing random, but instead of as anticipated chosing his best race, Protoss, he chose Terran solely because he found it more fun to play. During this time he also sustained an injury to his wrist while rollerblading.
ChRh is best known for three things; being considered one of the best looking progamers in the world, getting beaten by an amateur called NaDa on the pro vs amateur show, and having one of the worst slumps in progaming: 1402 days without a win, a streak that recently ended with him beating top-player Bisu on Monty Hall in the Proleague.
He joined the army in 2005, and was recruited for ACE by Lim Yo Hwan in 2007.
Jang Yong-Seok Aka\'s: FreeDom.WeRRa Age : 26.04.1988 Team: Samsung Khan
WarCraft 3 Achievements(Winner of) : Prime League 3 Ongamenet Ongamenet Prime League 5
Jang Yong-Seok, FreeDom.WeRRa is a former Warcraft 3 player that switched to Starcraft after the modifications of WC3 maps in major leagues in 2005. He was a Night Elf player, which was considered as the most dominant race in the first years of the game. Yong-Seok obviously didn't like too much of the idea that the maps were made rigged in favor of other races in an effort to balance the game. Yong-Seok did well in the Warcraft 3 scene, winning four major leagues. Interesting thing is that originally he actually started as a Starcraft player and switched to Warcraft.
Two years have passed and Freedom hasn't been in the spotlight too much. He has stayed in the same team where he originally started as a Warcraft player, Samsung Khan. Yong-Seok is in a solid team and not too old to make it big some day, but by now the only achievements worth mentioning are his games in the GoMTV 2 MSL. He made it through the Survivor tournament, but unluckily got too hard of a group for him to handle in the MSL itself. In the Survivor on his way to the MSL he beat `Slayers` Boxer and won his group shocking everyone. The groupstages didn't look all that impossible after his Survivor show, but Bisu and Oversky were the ones to advance from his group. Freedom hasn't been used that much in Proleague, if at all.
JJu - Byun Eun Jong - 변은종 Race: Zerg Birthdate: 23/02/1983 Current Team: Samsung KHAN (Captain) Former Team(s): Soul Nickname(s): Silver Bell, Straight Zerg Trademark: 5/4 pool, being unpredictable Achievements: NHN Hangame OSL - 4th Place KeSPA Cup 2005 - 1st Place (KHAN) (MVP of Tournament) Pringles 2 MSL - 3rd Place (Tied with Nal_ra) Photo
Bio "There's nothing but a straight (punch) for a man" - An infamous saying by Byun Eun Jong. An amateur boxer turned Starcraft gosu, Eun Jong has been one of the most successful Zergs of all time. He has acquired the nickname "Straight Zerg" from that saying of his, as well as his 'straight' style and is also known as "Silver Bell" (Eun - Silver, Jong - Bell) among team mates and fans. Eun Jong has had a long career and has been one of the most unpredictable players ever.
Eun Jong started out small in team Soul. His time with Soul was very special to him, and he treasured his roots. After winning the first KeSPA cup with KHAN and being named MVP, Eun Jong remarked that the first thing he would do with his money is buy all his old team mates from Soul dinner. His friendships in Soul also lead to the match between himself and Seo Ji Soo (Tossgirl) in Superfight 3. His time at Soul was also critical for his development. Despite posting mediocre results in tournaments in this time period, he was always a feared user of the swarm. However, good results were just around the corner as he placed 4th in NHN Hangame OSL.
In 2004, Eun Jong, Park Tae Min (GoRush) and Park Sung Jun (Julyzerg) were considered the 3 most feared zergs and dominated left right and center. And in the following year Eun Jong was recruited into Samsung KHAN and his presence immediately improved the teams success. Within 6 months of being recruited KHAN had won the first ever KeSPA Cup in 2005 for Samsung KHAN by beating Kim Jun Yung (GGPlay) in the 7th set securing their 4-3 victory over Hanbit. Eun Jong also showed a new found unpredictability and a willingness to use 5 or 4 pools as well as using obscure units and spells like ensare. With this 'new' level of skill came a new appearance; he began to wear sunglasses in matches. This became somewhat of a Eun Jong trademark.
Eun Jong carried through his unique style of play to this day. He is considered quite a fearsome ZvZ opponent (despite being a well-rounded player) especially in 2005-2006 and completely dominated on "Rush Hour" having a near perfect record. Eun Jong has remained modest throughout his career and in UZOO MSL revealed that his goal was not to win UZOO MSL, but to simply attain a Seed. From there, he said, he would move on to take first place. Eun Jong's next big success came in Pringles 2 MSL where he placed 3rd Equal with Kang Min (Nal_ra). Also in 2006 he became famous for his 'neck roll' ceremony.
Eun Jong made somewhat of a blunder in an interview by saying ZvP is easy; which he later regretted losing almost all of his remaining ZvP's. Eun Jong stepped up to the next level in 2007 by adopting a 'Smart' strategy by beating Park Ji-Ho (PuSan) 2-0 overcoming his losing streak in ZvP. By out thinking his opponent and playing a smart game he was able to attain a decisive victory, and in his winners interview said "ZvP is hard" - admitting his previous mistake.
Throughout his career it has been impossible to tell how far he will go. On the day he could be the hottest player in the world, or a complete dud. This is one of the many reasons the fans love him, you never know what you're going to get. Also, he is one of the more 'emotional' players as you can tell what he is thinking by the expression on his face. He certainly is a fun player to watch and support.
In the words of Eun Jong himself
I may not be the best player right now but I think I can beat any 'best' players. I'll beat all the best players and become the best player. Watch me.
Eun Jong currently captains Samsung KHAN which in first place in proleague at the moment.

Ma-Jae Yoon has developed into one of the most feared and respected progamers currently competing in Korea and has already cemented his place in history as one of the best ever with his many impressive results. In particular the competition where he has really excelled is the MSL, where he advanced to the finals 5 times in row and was champion 3 of these 5 times. In doing so he won matches against some of the best- final series against both Reach and Nal-rA and an all-time classic 3-0 semi-final trouncing of the feared T>Z monster iloveoov, a series of games which really showcased Savior's amazingly skillful late-game multitasking control of hive tech units and big armies and won him many fans. Then to cap this accomplishment he went on to become champion of the Shinhan season 3 OSL 2006/7after a thrilling knife-edge semi-final against teammate Iris and a powerful display of composure in the final against the imposing Nada. This was a very important milestone due to the respect that the OSL has among the progaming community. This win places Ma-Jae Yoon in the top tier of progamers along with Lim yo-hwan (Boxer), Lee yun-yeol (Nada) and others. The feat of simultaneously making it to the MSL final and winning the OSL final was recognised by Ma-Jae Yoon winning the best player of 2006 at the 2007 Korean e-Sports Awards. Ma-Jae Yoon has maintained an incredible pro-record against protoss of over 70% but even more notable than this is the success he has had against terrans, traditionally a race that so many zerg pro-gamers have struggled so much against. Savior still has a higher-than 60% average against terrans and he has beaten many of the top terrans. Savior has not been shy of controversy and his taunting of Jju via his neck-roll ceremony and tough-talking during pre-league pool selections have antagonised some in the pro-gaming world. However many other fans appreciate his blunt honesty and self-confidence. Although only(!) making it as far as the quarter-finals of both leagues so far in 2007 Ma-Jae Yoon is still young and has the potential to go even further in the future. His stated goals are to compete in the next WCG and help his team (CJ) win a proleague.
JunioR - Na Gyung Bo - 나경보 - Zerg Span of Career - 2001 to 2004
With a career record of 39-44, it isn't really enough to shout out "good player" for many people, but in my eyes, Junior was a great Zerg that just got unlucky. He started off slowly, cruising through KPGA Tournaments, but his breakout was during the infamous NATE Tournament where he crushed Sync, fOru and knocked BoxeR out of the tournament. In the Round of 8 though, things weren't good for him as he lost to ChRh and Oddysay.
Junior started to slump, participating in ghemTV starleagues and OGN minor leagues to poor results. He finally had another chance though of making another starleague, as he managed to walk through IntoTheRain, Sunny, Reach and Oversky to get a chance for a fourth seed in the next OSL at the time, mycube. Unfortunately, he met a Zerg in Side, and it was obvious ZvZ was both their weak point. Side managed to slide through 3-2. He would go on to lose in the Round of 16. Many felt Junior deserved that seed, but life goes on as many people say.
He then kept playing on for Soul in Teamleagues, as well as trying to qualify for the indiviaual leagues. His last sucess was in the Cengame MSL, where he bowed out to both rA and Yooi. After some ugly performances in the next Dual Tournaments and Minor Leagues, he was eventually released from Soul. Many said that he would go onto sign a contract with SK Telecom, where at the time, they needed Zergs. This never happend. Junior would eventually join eNature for one season, dissapear from the progaming scene forever.
Junior went on to eNature Top Team and played for them for one season (the season where they only had 1 win against Soul)
Then he went on to host shows on OGN. He did some commecials, too. He also helped sell gaming PCs on those Korean home shopping channels. I think he went to the army after that.

Shark[gm] - Seo Gyung Jong - 서경종 Race: Zerg Birthdate: 07/03/1987 Current Team: MBCGame Hero Former Team(s): N/A Achivements SKY Proleague 2006 - 1st Place (MBCGame Hero) 2nd KeSPA Cup - 1st Place (MBCGame Hero) Bio In 2003 a player by the name of Seo Gyung Jong played his first televised game, losing to Na Doh Hyun (Silent_Control) in LifeZone KPGA Team League. The very next day he defeated Park Gyung Lak (Junwi) also in LifeZone KPGA Team League. This 16 year old would not be seen on the progaming circuit for 2 years and would remain relatively unknown until 2006...
MBCGame Hero started the season off strongly, defeating KTF, OGN, Soul and eNature before dropping two games against Pantech and SKT1. MBC came back however, and defeated Samsung and then CJ convincingly but were once again stopped by Hanbit. Facing exclusion from the final four if they dropped another game, MBC pulled together and won 3-0 against Lecaf. The stage was now set for MBC to make its way into post season playoffs.
Their first match would be against a strong KTF MagicNs side. It was here that the unknown Gyung Jong would expose himself to the world. After Park Sung Jun (Julyzerg), Yum Bo Sung (Sea) and the Kim Taek Yong/Kim Dong Hyun (Bisu/Saint) team expectedly won their games, the 4th set was between the unknown Gyung Jong and Lee Byung Min (Goodfriend). KTF needed a win here to prevent a 4-0. What would happen next would go down in proleague history.
Opening with a 9 pool on Sin Cultivation Period, Gyung Jong moved into 1 base ling/range hydra and with perfect control and timing demolished Byung Min. The teamliquid forums were in shock;

And with Gyung Jong's victory MBC defeated KTF 4-0 and moved onto the next round against rivals CJ Entus.
Once again, MBC sent Gyung Jong out on Sin Cultivation Period. This time his opponent would be the 'Perfect Terran' Seo Ji Hoon (Xellos). Using pure lings after an 12 pool opening, Shark completely destroyed Ji Hoon as he did with Byung Min. At this stage, Shark had deservedly earned the title of 'Sniper' for MBCGame Hero. MBC went on to defeat CJ 4-2, but lost to SKT1 in the finals 1-4.
Gyung Jong was also credited with developing a new style of mutalisk control around the same time. By grouping mutalisk's with larvae, stacking of mutalisk's is incredibly easy and the previous method of grouping with an overlord can become quite annoying when overlords are traversing the map or when they have speed.
After Gyung Jong's sniping efforts in the first season of proleague 2006, he has not resurfaced to the same degree since. However, he is showing signs of hope with various entries into MSL and his recent entry in Daum OSL but was stopped short by two of the greatest players in todays scene, Park Jung Suk (Reach) and Byun Hyung Tae (iris). Nevertheless, Gyung Jong's future is a bright one, and we all look forward to the time he explodes onto the scene.

Anytime after defeating Julyzerg
Anytime after his victory in So1
The Three Neo-Kings, Left to Right; PuSan, Stork, Anytime
Achievements So1 OSL - 1st Place Shinhan 2 OSL - 2nd Place Bio: The starcraft world was severely shocked after the finals of the So1 Starleague. An unknown Protoss using the alias "Anytime[gm]" demolished the Terran Emperor 3-2 in the final and in doing so walked the royal road. Oh Yeong Jong had come from the troubled Plus team lacking the financial support of a sponsor, to the glory of becoming and OSL champion.
in 2003 Yeong Jong entered the Yuhsoo Amateur Game Festival along with various other amateur gamers. Despite placing 4th, he had caught the eye of Han Sang Yong, coach of Plus, and was quickly recruited into the team. Under the guidance of Park Ji-Ho (PuSan) he quickly mustered an impressive macro earning him the title of "Zealot Factory". Yeong Jong and Ji Ho's friendship would be a critical part of his development.
After Ji Ho left Plus, Yeong Jong assumed the position of primary protoss in the team. He continued to develop under the direction of Sang Yong. It was not until 2005 that Yeong Jong burst out onto the scene like a bullet. Tearing through ODT, he became the 4th seed for the So1 starleague. And following on from his ODT success defeated Choi Yun Sung (iloveoov) 3-1 in the semi finals and then Lim Yo Hwan (boxer) 3-2 in the grand finals.
Yeong Jong became a star over night, and with it became associated with Dark Templar play earning him the nickname "Sasin Toss". It is fair to say that he pioneered Dark Templar openings for the new generation of protoss. In addition to this he became one of the neo-toss kings, along with old friend-turned-rival Park Ji-Ho (PuSan) and Song Byung Goo (Stork).
After So1, Yeong Jong dropped off the scene. This came as no surprise as he succumbed to the OSL winners curse. Impressive showings by team mate Choi Ka Ram (Shinhwa) in conjunction with Yeong Jung's starleague efforts earned plus financial backing from Lecaf and thus Lecaf Oz was born. It would not be until the fall that Yeong Jong would rise again.
In the fall of 2006, in Shinhan 2 OSL, Yeong Jong once again blasted through opponents with an impressive showing. Defeating Park Sung Jun (Julyzerg), Kim Jun Yung (GGplay) and Park Tae Min (Gorush) before destroying Jun Sang Wook (Midas) 3-2 in the semifinals. This time however, he could not go all the way- losing to Lee Yoon Yeol (Nada) in an epic final. Once again, Yeong Jong slumped; earning him the pseudo-nickname "Fall Toss" for only being strong in the fall.
Today, Yeong Jong, along with Lee Jeh Dong (Jaedong), is Lecaf's ace player and their team is currently 3rd in proleague. Fans everywhere love Yeong Jong and eagerly await the fall; and with it another impressive run by their beloved 'Sasin Toss'.
Achiements: 4th at World Cyber Games 2003 lost to X'Ds~Grrrr... 3rd at Ongamenet Starleague NHN Hangame December 2003 - March 2004 over Jju 4th at Ongamenet Starleague Gillette April - July 2004 lost to iloveoov
In the end of 2003 a rising progamer started show off his skills and beat great players on his way to glory. He had already made an impact in the World Cyber Games of the same year placing 4th, losing only to Lee Yong-Bum (Ogogo), Guillaume Patry (PlayGrrrr...) and Fredrik Keitel (Fisheye). The crowd was on their toes as the unknown star cheesed his way to the bronze match of NHN Hangame OSL. As much as he got fans as the rising star he surely made alot of people burst out. 2004 was the perfect year for Doh Hyun, as he got recognised and actually rolled his way through to the 3rd place match of OSL twice in a row. Both times cleaning his way with more or less cheese strategies. Doh Hyun disappeared from the Starleagues as suddenly and quietly as he had appeared.
He was not seen anywhere for a while, except for the Proleague where he made an impact with his team Pantech & Curitel Curriors. They won the second round of Proleague 2004 and continued later on in the year to face Hanbit Stars in the grand final. But that match they lost.
The most dramatic day for Doh Hyun of his career was 14.5.2004 when he suddenly collapsed and fainted, just before a Ongamenet Starleague Gillette 2004 match against Park Tae-min (GoRush). He obviously was just over exhausted, because of massive amount of training and that caused him to faint on the stage. The community went wild as rumors of him having some serious disease, people even talked of tuberculosis, started to spread. The stories how ever stopped pretty soon as official information was released by the team. Silent_Control agreed to play a rematch against GoRush on 21st day, and went on to finish 4th in the tournament. But after these events Doh Hyun started to fade from the proscene, as he took some time off of StarCraft under the request of his family.
He made a surprise comeback in 2005, when he fought his way through the WCG Korea second time in his life and got a spot to represent his country in the Grand Finals in Singapore. Not much was expected of him but in the single-elimination brackets he gave the community another shock as he defeated Xellos, the reigning champion, in the first round with a 2-0 score. But as if it was a curse once things start going well for him he must drop down as the russian player Andrey Kukhianidze ([3D]Androide) 2-0'd him delivering us the biggest upset of the whole tournament.
In 2007 Doh Hyun has played only in Proleague, but it seems that the new progamers have caught him up and passed the line he still stands on a long time ago as he is getting crushed in most of the games. Doh Hyun is one of the most controversial progamers around, he divides opinions to both extremes and sometimes it feels that its not even possible to decide if oyu hate him or love him.
DaezanG - Park Dae Man - 박대만 - Protoss Teams: Hanbit Stars, Air Force ACE Guilds: [GnH] (Gamei New History) Nicknames: Big Boss Span of Career: 2004 - Present
Although DaezanG gained his professional licence somewhat late in his career, he has shown brilliant spurs of performances in both amateur and professional sides of e-Sports. In his amateur/battle.net days, he was known for his arbiter usage, as well as his special PvT play, where he would sacrifice early economy for major damage in the early game.
He sacrificed playing time to complete his studies, and eventually in early 2004, finally earned his pro-gamer licence. Early on, he participated in qualifiers without a team, until he was sought after by Hanbitstars and then eventually recruited. In his first year with Hanbit, he was a valuable weapon in the proleagues as he took down BoxeR, RainbOw and Rock.
After this, he would go on to be the key Protoss player for Hanbit until Free was drafted. He was a major player in teamleagues. Unfortunately, his individual league sucess would not come until later in his career.
MBC's Minor Leagues would prove to be the turning point for DaezanG, as he would go on to qualify for his first, and only major league, Pringles 2. After some nice performances against JJu and ChOJJa in the group stages, both sAviOr and SiLvEr would knock him out in the bracket stages.
After failing to make it past the next season's minor leagues, his last game for Hanbit would be against the lowly Child of STX. He lost in a humiliating fashion, and subsequently was drafted into the Korean Military. He, along with Oversky, had announced their intentions to join the Air Force ACE e-Sports team. Currently, DaezanG is doing basic military training. It is expected that he will be in the team next season and will be a regular in proleague matches.
Junwi - Park Kyung Rak - 박경락 - Zerg Teams: Hanbit Stars Guilds: _[saM] (Three) Span of Career: 2002 - Present Overall Record: 194 Played, 99 Wins, 95 Losses, 51.03%.
Known as the Terran Killer, in his first match, Junwi did not demonstrate his name, losing to ChRh on Emperor of Emperor in a ghemTV game. After this, he would go on demolition, qualifying for both the Panasonic OSL and WCG 2002. After bowing out in the ghemTV Starleague semi-finals to HOT 3-2, he had his sights on the OSL ahead of him.
Although being invited to participate in the 4th KPGA Tour, he showed no signs of fatigue, demolishing known TvZ specialists in BoxeR, XellOs and Sync. Unfortunately Sync would get his revenge in the OSL, but with a 2-1 record, he would go onto the round of 8, where he comfortably made it to the semi-finals, only to be knocked out by Chojja in 5 nail-biting games.
Junwi would go on to place 4th, and had his sights on the next OSL, Olympus. Unfortunately, he drew the worst group he could probably get, with the likes of fOru, BoxeR and NaDa. Junwi would eventually bow out to BoxeR, but he managed to defeat fOru and NaDa, escaping from an extremely tough group 2-1. He would eventually make it to the semi-finals where he would lose to Yellow 3-0 and come 4th again.
It seemed that it would be a groundhog day for Junwi, as again, he breezed through the next OSL, mycube, quite easily, to eventually make it to the semi-finals again, where he would meet with the eventual winner, Kingdom. Unfortunately due to the poor maps that season, he would lose 3-0 in the semi-finals, but would win the 3rd/4th place match against Reach 3-2, whom he was about to transfer to KTF.
Between this and the next OSL, he participated in many teamleague games for Hanbit, as well as the KT-KTF Premiere League. In the next OSL, NHN, he would eventually stop his streak of semi-final runs, losing in the Round of 8. After this, it hasn't been the same for Junwi. Besides a 4 game winning streak during the SKY Proleague, he would go on to lose most of his matches, whether it would be qualifiers, teamleagues or proleagues. Albeit the Terran Killer he once was, he hasn't been able to adapt to the macro-style playstyles that many Terrans use these days.
His recent attempt to make another starleague was foiled, as he unconvincingly lost both games in this season's OGN Starchallenge League. With GGPlay now taking the reigns as premiere Zerg in Hanbit, Junwi's career is all but over it seems.
ID: Nada, [ReD]NaDa, Sea.s2, ilovesil, Skyinthesea Name: Lee Yun Yeol Race: Terran Nickname: Prodigy or Genius of Terran, Grandslammer, The Machine, Tornado Terran Teams: Ideal Space, KTF MagicNs, Toona S.G. -> Pantech and Curitel Curriors -> Pantech EX (current)
Nada is a serious contender for the greatest StarCraft progamer of all-time for good reason. As the most accomplished player he has achieved a major championship every year since he started including 3 MBC Starleagues (in a row) followed by 3 OGN Starleagues to win the Golden Mouse (the only player to have done so to this date). Almost universally feared, it says something that the opponent with the greatest success against him is Iloveoov, in many ways his successor. Nada also carries his team in proleague having twice won the KeSPa award for most proleague victories out of all the players. In fact Nada has a near 65% win rate with almost 900 games played (more games than anyone else including Boxer, and one of the top win %s of anyone with a significant number of games).
First bursting onto the scene in 2002 as a member of Ideal Space (an early powerhouse team which also had Boxer and Yellow) he spectacularly won the second, third, and fourth KPGA Tours (the equivalent and precursor to today’s MBC Starleagues) earning himself nicknames as a Prodigy and a Genius. First in the KPGA 2nd Tour he triumphed over YellOw (who previously had struggled conquering Boxer in finals). In the KPGA 3rd Tour he convincingly tore apart [Oops]Reach 3-0 who had just defeated Boxer 3-1 in the OGN Starleague. Then in 2003 as he won the fourth KPGA Tour he also traveled the Royal Road to dominate the Panasonic OGN Starleague (despite the collapse of Ideal Space which caused NaDa and Yellow to head over to KTF, then to the new team Toona S.G. with Yellow going back again to KTF) with a jaw-dropping record of 11-4 (including 3-0 against ChoJJa in the finals whom he also routed in KPGA 4th tour) to be the first person to win the only major starleagues simultaneously. Two months later Nada would also make the finals for the GhemTV Starleague (now discontinued) and triumph against HOT-forever 3-0. If that were not enough, that year he also crushed the Terran Emperor Boxer 3-1 (after going an outstanding 13-0 in the previous matches) in the first KT-KTF Premier League, the league with the greatest payout at the time. In the 3 MSLs following his last championship he still managed to place 2nd (to Nal_Ra), 3rd (to iloveoov), and 2nd again (to iloveoov). His exploits in 2003 earned him the title of Grandslammer for winning three different Starleagues at the same time and the KT-KTF Premier League as well.
It was at that time it was said among the progaming circuit that “if you let Nada secure his natural then he has won.” His playstyle then was noted by first taking a relatively early expansion and then pummeling the enemy into submission through his unprecedented combination of overwhelming macro and killer micro. Consistently having an average 400 APM Nada was largely responsible for the first shift oriented towards perfect mechanics. He has admitted in interviews that he often does not focus on map or player-specific builds but rather works out of straight up builds executed to perfection. This is how some termed him as a Machine.
If Nada’s career had ended at 2003 he would still be known as a great player, however it has been his steady results through the years that have turned him into a legend, included with both the 4 Kings of old (with Boxer, Yellow, and Reach) and the Bonjwa (with Boxer, Iloveoov, and Savior). For a short period he passed his impossibly long reign of invincibility on to Iloveoov and was merely a “good player who had only won one OSL and it was a while ago.” Some even dared to call it a “slump.” However in 2005 he won the IOPS OSL, this time with his new and improved TvZ. Featuring almost purely SK Terran strategies Nada went 0-1 vs Terran (Iloveoov), 0 games against Protoss, and 10-2 against Zerg (including another 3-0 final this time against the previous winner JulyZerg who had burst onto the scene and especially renowned for his ZvT). Additionally Nada placed 3rd in the second KT-KTF Premiere League and almost won the YatGK MSL but lost in the finals to GoRush, another killer ZvTer who was responsible for his 2 losses in the OSL. Nada also participated in a few international leagues placing 2nd at the China-Korea Cyber Games (to iloveoov), 1st at the International E-sports Festival (over iloveoov), and 2nd at the World E-sports Festival 2006 (to Savior).
Unfortunately it was shortly after this point that tragedy struck and Nada’s father died in a traffic accident (see http://teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=29638). The shock of this would drive Nada all the way out of the preliminaries and into a true slump. A true fighter, Nada clawed his way back out of the offline preliminaries, through the preceding Dual Tournaments, and back into the StarLeagues. After winning his second OSL he had joined the ranks of a few players (Garimto, Boxer, JulyZerg, and later Iloveoov) that could wear two badges. Nada however, sought the fabled Golden Mouse (given to anyone – that is no one yet – who could win three OSLs). He had stopped July’s attempt and Boxer had also failed.
Nada reached the finals of the 2006 Shinhan Season 2 Starleague to face Anytime[gm], the same player who beat Boxer a year earlier. Anytime was backed up by the powerful Legend of the Fall which dictated that a Protoss player would find victory in the fall season. Nada was backed up by something even more powerful though, a burning desire to be known as the best of all-time. Nada has said before that he wants to be the first 30 year old competitive progamer. In a dramatic 3-2 series Nada face trounced Anytime using a classic dropship harass strategy in the fifth game to lay his claim to fame as the only player to win 3 OGN Starleagues and in completely different eras. Additionally, Nada remains the best example of someone breaking the OSL Curse, where the champion of the previous Starleague often performs poorly in the following one, by rocketing all the way to the finals of 2006 Shinhan Season 3 (albeit he only scraped past groups as a wild card) before losing to sAviOr 1-3. Nada would be able to overcome the grand Maestro sAviOr in early 2007 in the Shinhan Masters tournament of champions.

edit: holy shit I finally semi-finished this, I'm still looking to update this and if anyone wants to offer quick suggestions/corrections I'd be happy to include them. For example if anyone could provide me with his birthday or some other stats it would be nice It's over 800 words and I had to cut a ton stuff out in order to try to reach 500 words, obviously I failed but nada's career is just too amazing. I think I'm going to do a write-up of Iloveoov's next, dunno if anyone has done it already but I think I can do a decent one... other players i'm eyeing after finishing oov: reach, kingdom, rainbow, gorush, casy...
haha holy shit GTR-2-GO maybe you're really the machine and not nada
edit6345234: i've been editing this constantly (word choices, adding in some stuff like his GhemTV win, his second/third places, breaking the OSL curse) and considering adding stuff about Pantech dropping the sponsorship due to business troubles but i don't know too much about that

Although Jaedong has not been around much, his above-winning record has been extremely impressive to many fans and critics. His Zerg is powerful all around, but with his ZvT being his most favourable matchup.
Jaedong has been the star Zerg player for Lecaf ever since MuMyung left for SK Telecom. He has carried the reigns for them, overshadowing the struggling ShinHwA. For half of the year, he was mainly playing Proleague matches, until his first spout of individual sucess came with the 1st GOM TV MSL. He unfortunately was eliminated in the first round with a deadly group which included the likes of Pusan and Savior.
After this, he would go on to be one of the best players for Lecaf at the 2nd KeSPA Cup, netting in an impressive 4-1 record there. After failing to make both Daum and GOMTV2, he had his intentions to be the best player in Lecaf for the Proleagues.
Him, along with Anytime and fOrGG, have managed to carry Lecaf all the way to second place on the table. This is an impressive feat, when you think of it, Lecaf were the minows of proleague gaming somewhat 3 years ago. He has played a total of 18 games for Lecaf this proleague season. He is also in the running for the 4th seed of next season's OnGameNet Starleague, having to face Sea[Shield] in the Quarter-Finals. If he wins, he will have to face either Yooi or Shudder. It will all depend on luck for Jaedong to get that precious 4th seed.

The future looked bleak for this 15 year old gamer.
In 2005 Byung Goo defeated Lee Jae Hoon (fOru) 3-1 in the challenge league final; earning himself the coveted 4th seed in EVER 2 OSL. In the group stages of EVER 2 OSL, Byung Goo landed himself in an extremely tough group consiting of Hong Jin Ho (YellOw), Seo Ji Hoon (XellOs) and Lee Byung Min (Goodfriend). Despite this formidable group, Byung Goo forced a tie-breaker between himself, Jin Ho and Ji Hoon; which Ji Hoon eventually won. Byung Goo was making a name for himself outside of OSL as well. Already he was being noticed as a strong point in Samsung KHAN (which he joined in 2003) and brought a new style of protoss to the world.
Byung Goo followed up his EVER 2 appearance by qualifying for So1 OSL. Despite losing 0-3 to his group, he was still noted as one of the three protoss new hopes; dubbed the 'three neo-kings'. Fellow members consisted of Park Ji-Ho (PuSan) and Oh Yeong Jong (Anytime). Each of the three brought a new element of protoss gameplay to the forefront. Byung Goo brought a strong sense of Macro, as well as a high level of mechanics (similar to Park Yong Wook (Kingdom)) but most notably turned the scarcely used Arbiter into a necessity for late game PvT.
Shortly after his elimination from So1, Byung Goo, along with Byun Eun Jong (Jju) and Lee Chang Hoon (sigamari), won the first KeSPA Cup for Samsung KHAN. Byung Goo showed enormous consistency by qualifying for his third straight OSL- Shinhan 2005 OSL. Byung Goo met another tough group in OSL and made an early departure, coming third with stats 1-2. The season 2 Proleague Finals 2005, held very soon after the group stages of Shinhan OSL, marked a turning point in Byung Goo's career. Firstly defeating the promising Ma Jae Yoon (Savior) on Requiem in the 7th Set clinching the victory for KHAN by using a 2gate -> Sair/Reaver strategy which was well received by fans and critics alike. Secondly, he defeated Park Tae Min (Gorush) using a fast expand -> sair/reaver strategy which was even more impressive than the Jae Yoon game. Byung Goo would become infamous for his awesome Sair/Reaver usage; only topped by Kang Min (Nal_ra). Byung Goo was named most promising player of 2005 by the coaches of the proleague teams following the conclusion of Proleague 2005.
Byung Goo suffered a large slump in 2006. He failed to make all starleagues during the year and was rarely used in proleague. In an exclusive teamliquid interview with Lim Yo Hwan (Boxer), Byung Goo was Yo Hwan's pick for best up and coming Protoss player. Despite all thw hype and potential in this young player nothing had actually eventuated. However, 2007 would prove to be a great year for Byung Goo.
Qualifying for both Daum OSL and GOM TV 2 MSL, Byung Goo reached the semi-finals of both. Meanwhile, in proleague Byung Goo attained an amazing record and dominated left, right and center aiding his team in reaching 1st place for the 1st season of proleague 2007. In addition to this, he is considered the 'heart' of the team as many junior players call on Byung Goo's guidence in matches, as in the case of Park Sung Hoon (TT) phoning him for advice before defeating Jun Sang Wook (midas) in MSL. Despite losing the Daum OSL semifinal to Byun Hyung Tae (iris) 0-3, he made the GOM TV 2 MSL Final against Kim Taek Yong (BiSu) which will be played later in the month.
Saint[z-zone] - Kim Dong Hyun - 김동현 Race: Zerg Birthdate: 12/01/1988 Current Team: MBCGame Hero (Captain) Former Team(s): Pirates of Space (P.O.S) Nickname(s): N/A Achievements: SKY Proleague 2006 - 1st Place (MBCGame Hero) 2nd KeSPA Cup - 1st Place (MBCGame Hero) Bio Often forgotten in proteams are the 2v2 players, none so more than Kim Dong Hyun. In the 2005 player draft the team 'Pirates of Space' picked up two unbelievingly valuable additions to their team; Kim Dong Hyun and Yum Bo Sung (Sea[Shield]). The remainder of the year was uneventful for Dong Hyun but with a new proleague season just around the corner he was ready to shine.
In his first Proleague game for 2006 he played against the ZvZ God, Jo Yong Ho (Chojja), and was destroyed. However, in his first 2v2 game with his partner Moon Jun Hee (Junitoss) he scored a victory. But this success was short lived as the combination lost their next 2v2 encounter. Struggling to find his position in the team, he was used as MBC's Ace against rivals CJ Entus. Dong Hyun was victorious over Park Yeong Min (Much[gm]) and secured the victory for his team.
In an effort to find a suitable 2v2 combination, after trialling 6 combinations, coach Ha Tae Ki had a dilemma. The most successful team, the Park Sung Jun/Kim Taek Yong (July/Bisu), used up one of his deadliest 1v1 weapons, Park Sung Jun. He was in desperate need for a new, viable combination. Given Dong Hyun's various success in Proleague thus far, he tried a Dong Hyun/Taek Yong (Bisu) combination. This combination found success, and won the next 2 2v2 sets with ease before being stopped by CJ. The Dong Hyun/Taek Yong combination would be used throughout the remainder of the proleague season with great results and became the preferred PZ combination.
In the latter half of 2006, Taek Yong became a lethal 1v1 weapon, preforming extremely well in Shinhan 2 OSL. At the conclusion of the 2006 season, Taek Yong was being used primarily as a 1v1 weapon. Dong Hyun remained good friends with his ally, aiding him in practice whenever need be; most notably in Taek Yong's preparation for the GOM TV 1 MSL Finals against Ma Jae Yoon (Savior). Dong Hyun has also shown some valiant 1v1 efforts, very reminiscent of Park Sung Jun (JulyZerg), but has met limited success in individual league. However, he has managed to clench some crucial 1v1 games for his team.
In the 2007 proleague, Dong Hyun has not found another partner that he has worked that well with and fellow team mate, Jung Yung Chul (TheZerg), has become the more successful 2v2 player in MBCGame Hero. Currently, Yung Chul plays Zerg in combination with Terran and Dong Hyun plays Zerg in combinatino with Protoss. Although Yung Chul is taking more of the 2v2 responsibility. Dong Hyun has also become captain of MBCGame Hero for the 2007 season after Park Ji Ho (PuSan) captained the team in 2006

Seeing as I've been a fan of Peter's since the trial WCG (the one he didn't go to) I thought I'd add a tid bit.
Only starting out as a humble foreigner who only came for WCG, he eventually stayed and became a progamer
Even when he went to his first WCG Peter knew there was a good chance he could get on a pro-team if he got a good manager. He was sponsored by iStar (http://www.istarzone.com.au/main.php) at the time , as they were heavily involved in Australian starcraft and they had a few Korean links. When he went to his second WCG Peter realised that he could use his pro-gaming career as an "extended" holiday playing a game he considered a hobby. He got a manager and negotiated a deal with POS. Even though there were many other foreigners around at the time who were arguably better than Peter none were wise enough to hire a proper manager and secure a deal with a pro-team.
On a personal note:
For Peter the whole affair was pretty light-hearted, just like his personality, which is not saying he didn't want to succeed. He truely enjoyed Starcraft and played fearlessly, which is why he tried to showcase innovative and spectacular plays whenever he could. This, however, was sometimes to his detrement. I think, for Peter, the game of Starcraft was about enjoyment. An enjoyment he tried to share with the crowd when he winked at them . Litte did he know how famous he'd become. However, once gaming became a burdain with all the controversies and pressure he decided it was time to hang up the mouse. I think Peter achieved what he wanted to achieve. He got recognition, he further served to change the image of foreigners and he had LOTS of fun.
Light[aLive] - Lee Jae Ho - 이재호 Race: Terran Birthdate: 28/03/1990 Current Team: MBCGame Hero Former Team(s): Pirates of Space (P.O.S) Nickname(s): The Dark Sorcerer, Super Terran Achievements: SKY Proleague 2006 - 1st Place (MBCGame Hero) 2nd KeSPA Cup - 1st Place (MBCGame Hero) Bio It cannot be said of many gamers that they exploded onto the scene, but it can be said of Lee Jae Ho. Signed to 'Pirates of Space' (P.O.S) from 2006 draft at the young age of 16, he made his first T.V. appearance in proleague the following month. Despite statistics of 3-7 he showed considerable promise with a dominating performance against Oh Yeong Jong (Anytime). In the second half of the proleague season Jae Ho became one of the strongest members of MBCGame Hero. Destroying his first 4 opponents with ease earned him much respect within the team and was even used for Ace on a number of occasions.
Shortly after the 1st season of the 2006 proleague he participated in the i-Station Dual tournament and qualified for Shinhan 2 OSL. Despite losing 0-3 in a tough group (Eventual winner, Lee Yoon Yeol (NaDa), an inform Park Sung Jun (Zergman) and Jang Yook (jy)) he continued to show strong performances in the 9th MBC Movies Survivor League and qualified for the GOM TV MSL. In the 2nd OGN Dual Tornament Jae Ho showed an amazing performance finishing 1st from his group and qualifying for Shinhan 3 OSL. However, once again he met an insane group (Eventual winner Ma Jae Yoon (Savior), 2nd place Lee Yoon Yeol (Nada) and Lee Sung Eun (firebathero)) and departed 0-3.
Through his efforts in the latter half of 2006, Jae Ho earned the nickname "Dark Sorcerer" for his unparalleled multitasking which could only be achieved through some kind of dark magic. It was this amazing multitasking that Coach Ha originally saw in Jae Ho when he signed him onto P.O.S and this feature of Jae Ho was brought out very nicely by him. Using his amazing multitasking, he was able to turn the TvZ balance on Arcadia from deeply in zerg's favor to strongly in terran's favor. This also was considered an amazing feat, and his methods on the map were copied extensively by other terrans.
Jae Ho would build on his 2006 success in 2007 by placing first in his group in GOM TV MSL and making his way to the tiebreak round for entry into the semi-finals losing a close match 1-2 to Jin Yung Soo (Hwasin). Jae Ho earned himself the 6th seed for GOM TV 2 MSL, and came 1st in his group. Jae Ho would lose to eventual finalist and team mate Kim Taek Yong (Bisu) in the first round and again to the other finalist Song Byung Goo (Stork) in the first round of the wildcard matches. Jae Ho also qualified for Daum OSL where he lost 1-2 to another tough group. For MBCGame Hero in 2007 he has also proved a valuable weapon aiding his team in winning the 2nd KeSPA cup in 2007. As well as that he boasts a 66.7% win rate in proleague for 2007 (stats 4-2).
Jae Ho is currently only 17 years old and has had an explosive career thus far. With his trademark multitasking he is a terran user that is to be feared by all and has a bright future ahead of him.

Yum Bo Sung would make his name known throughout teamliquid a year later in 2006.
Yum Bo Sung, in the latter half of 2005, played in various Survivor League tournaments but never managed to strike it big. However, once Bo Sung focused his attention on the K-SWISS ODT, he blasted through Kim Jun Yung (GGPlay) and then Park Jung Suk (Reach) to earn himself the right to fight for the 4th seed for Shinhan 1 OSL. Destroying Cho Yong Ho (Chojja), Hong Jin Ho (YellOw) and then Kang Min (Nal_Ra) earned the 4th seed for Bo Sung. In addition to this achievement he was noted for two things in particular. Firstly, his age; at this stage he was only 16 years old and being significantly younger than any progamer before him to achieve something of this magnitude earned him extra recognition from tl and Korea alike. Secondly, he became known as the "KTF Killer" for defeating 4 of the most prominent faces of KTF in quick succession (Jung Suk, Yong Ho, Jin Ho and Kang Min).
The hype around this young terran prodigy only built as he stormed his OSL group 3-0; defeating another member of KTF along the way (Lee Byung Min - Goodfriend). Then, in an impressive show lost 1-2 to up-and-comer Park Myung Soo (Yellow[ArnC]) in the round of 16. Just as the hype began to cool off Bo Sung rocked the progaming world with a particularly daring build against Lim Yo Hwan (Boxer) in the finals of season 1 of Proleague 2006 on 815. Bo Sung was hailed as a master and gained much respect from all areas of the SC community for this feat.
Bo Sung followed up his Shinhan 1 OSL success by qualifying for Shinhan 2 OSL through the i-Station Dual Tournament. Once again Bo Sung destroyed his group 3-0 using what would become his trademark super aggressive play. This was particularly noticeable in his demolition of Ko In Kyu (Canata). Once again Bo Sung was stopped in the round of 16 by a zerg; this time Park Tae Min (Gorush). Also, in his exclusive retirement interview to teamliquid.net, Lim Yo Hwan (Boxer) stated that the most promising player for terran in his opinion Bo Sung.
Over the next two years, which terran, protoss, and zerg players will be the best? ... and for Terran (and this is to encourage him to make more of an effort), Yum Bo-sung (Sea[Shield]) - Lim Yo Hwan
Bo Sung however, did not stop. He continued to destroy anything he could in proleague and clenched the final set in the Proleague grand final against SKT1 against Park Tae Min (Gorush) to secure victory for his team (MBCGame Hero). In addition to this, he would be a large factor in the team winning the 2nd KeSPA cup as well. Bo Sung would continue his proleague dominance through 2007 sporting stats of 15-5; an incredible win:loss ratio for any gamer.
Bo Sung was denied entry into Daum OSL by none other than Park Jung Suk (Reach) in an epic struggle on HitchHiker. However, he did make the MSL and went 2-1 in the group stages. Bo Sung was then for the third time cut down by a zerg in the round of 8; namely Park Tae Min (Gorush) once again. Due to Lee Joo Yeong (Oversky) leaving to the army, Bo Sung was able to try for a spot in the MSL through the wildcard tournmanet. After a crushing victory over Choi Yun Sung (iloveoov) he took a build order loss to Seo Ji Hoon (Xellos). To this day, Bo Sung has maintained a high winrate against KTF players sporting stats of 10-1.
Notable Games Sea vs Gorush Part 1Part 2 Sea vs Canata (from Shinhan 3) - MISSING (any help would be appreciated) Sea vs Boxer (from proleague season 1 finals) - MISSING (any help would be appreciated)
Iloveoov arrived onto the progaming scene after being recruited along with other promising talents IntoTheRainBoW and ZergLee onto Boxer’s new team in 2003. They would be joined by players such as kOs and Kingdom (and later Mumyung and Terato). Legend has it that iloveoov caught Boxer’s attention by defeating him online with all three races on Lost Temple. As an amateur iloveoov played all the races and had an account over 2000 on gamei with each race. He was especially noticed for his Zerg play, but his bad manner had prevented previous teams from recruiting him. After gaining his pro license and seeing the need to focus on a single race however, iloveoov ended up picking Terran as he believed that it was the only race with which he could consistently beat Nada who was at that time tearing up the leagues (and who had also been the best player on the ilove clan as ilovesil).
Iloveoov rocked the Brood War pro-gaming world as soon after he joined Boxer’s pro team he entered the Trigem MSL where Yellow had thought that by dispatching Nada 2-0 in the winner’s finals he would finally be able to take home a Starleague victory. Instead, iloveoov clawed his way through the loser’s bracket after a first round loss to Nada himself to overwhelm Nada 3-1 in the loser’s bracket finals and then the perennial punching bag Yellow 3-0 in the Grand Finals. He followed this initial splash with two more MBC Starleague championships much in the same way as Nada before him had conquered 3 MSLs in a row, powering over Nada 3-2 in the finals for Hanafos MSL (having only dropped one other game the entire tournament) and Kingdom 3-2 in the finals for Spris MSL (on an amusing side note, close observation yields a certain IPXZerg playing in a Starleague for an unremarkable first time winning one game before losing to TheMarine and then GoodFriend).
At this point in iloveoov’s career one should look to how game-breaking his play style was in order to reach win percentages unachievable even by Nada. In fact iloveoov started out with a ridiculous 27-0 TvZ streak. It’s important to remember that iloveoov is put into the category of Bonjwa not just by a magical run through a single tournament but by dominating his opponents thoroughly for a significant period of time and sweeping Starleague caliber players 2-0, 3-1, and 3-0 in sets. Iloveoov’s play could be characterized as devastating macro backed up by the best defense in the history of StarCraft. With a distinctively “low” APM of around 250, iloveoov used his superior game sense to out macro each and every opponent if undisturbed. Earning nicknames of “Cheater Terran” for having impossibly large armies and “Bus Driver” for crushing his opponents mercilessly, perhaps the scariest part of iloveoov at the time was that he also seemed uncheeseable. Adversaries who feared iloveoov’s unstoppable macro also failed in early gambits to pierce iloveoov’s ironclad armor. One interesting myth associated with iloveoov was the “iloveoov curse” where upon after oov smashes an opponent they spiral into a slump from the brutality. Players possibly affected include Yellow, Nada, Nal_Ra, Boxer, and Reach.
Concurrently to cruising through Spris MSL in mid 2004, iloveoov landed himself into both the Gilette OSL and the short-lived iTV Starleague. This was somewhat accidental because the preliminaries for the OSL had proven very difficult to work through and he had instead focused his practice on MSL maps where he found great success. In the Gilette OSL, iloveoov found himself the target of the previous OSL Champion Nal_Ra who picked him in his group as the deadliest player he could find. Nal_Ra had torn through the previous OSL with high level strategy and perfectly timed builds. For the first game of the Starleague iloveoov faced Ra down on Requiem, a virtual TvP nightmare, and showed off his excellent defense anyhow as he first deflected early zealot+cannon cheese followed by dark templar drops and then artfully uses dropships to strike at Nal_Ra’s main for the GG. Meanwhile iloveoov was performing unspectacularly in the regular iTV tournament (ranking 9th before the final round) only to display his why he was the scariest player in the world at the time and win 9 straight matches (against the players ranked 2 through 8) to advance to the finals against new sensation JulyZerg. JulyZerg would live up to his hype by pouding iloveoov in early July 2004 in the iTV finals to stop him at his first finals (iloveoov is the definition of a clutch player being 5-0 in MSL+OSL finals) and then again a week later in the OSL brackets which JulyZerg would win.
Denied his Royal Road trip and reeling from double losses to JulyZerg with people questioning whether iloveoov’s reign had ended, iloveoov came back with a vengeance in the next OSL, EVER 2k4. EVER 1 was one of the more memorable OSLs as the final 8 included six previous OSL champions, some newb named YellOw, and iloveoov. On his route to the finals against his mentor Boxer, iloveoov took down the fiercest opponents at the time including GoRush, NaDa, and Reach (to whom he lost a macro war for the first time only to come back and stop 3 cheeses). A nail-biter of a series, iloveoov was 2-2 with Boxer ahead in the final game only to get away with an un-scouted expo and inexorably rise to victory. At You are the Golf King MSL (the best name ever) iloveoov would drop his nemesis JulyZerg 2-0 only to lose both in the Winner’s and Loser’s bracket to another opponent who seemingly counters him, XellOs.
As sAviOr’s reign started in the MSL, iloveoov meandered around the following OSLs, succumbing to the OSL winner’s curse in IOPS (losing again to JulyZerg), being taken out in EVER 2k5 by XellOs, and falling to the eventual So1 Champion Anytime[gm] 1-3. Winter of 2005 arrived and iloveoov could taste blood, placing 3 relative no-namers in his OSL group and then demolishing Boxer 2-1, Casy 3-2, and even JulyZerg 3-0 (who was on his quest for the Golden Mouse) in the finals to join the elite group of players with 2 OSLs (Boxer, Garimto, Nada – 3, and JulyZerg).
Throughout 2005 and 2006 iloveoov displayed his versatility, being a core part of the SKTelecomT1 2005 proleague team that won three finals (as well as domineering the regular season), and placing well in international tourneys including World E-sports Festival 2005 (second to Savior), China-Korea Cyber Games (first over Nada), International E-sports Festival (second to Nada) and the World Cyber Games 2006 (first over JulyZerg).

This was another incredibly fun one to write, and yeah this is way bigger than I intended but it's just so hard compressing players such as iloveoov into 500 words or less although if it's necessary I can cut out more stuff also once again I would appreciate it if anyone offered suggestions on how to improve this
players on my hit list: Reach, Kingdom, Rainbow, Gorush, Casy...
edit: i've made a few revisions to this since i first posted it, mostly word choices but i also added the oov curse and maybe some other stuff

However, he did make the MSL but did not pass the group stages losing 1-2 over all. To this day, Bo Sung has maintained a high winrate against KTF players sporting stats of 10-1.

Sea's nickname is L'enfant Terrible
He went 2-1 in his MSL dropping one game to a 2gate -> dt rush by Stork
in the round of 8 he lost 0-2 to Gorush, marking the third time a Zerg had kept him from the semifinal in a major league, and the second time Gorush had done so
then since oversky went to the army, Sea was entered in the wildcard matches, where he destroyed oov and then took a huge build order loss against xellos
Thnx steve; i thought l'enfant was seas nick but wasnt sure~ and thnx for he corrections
im tempted to add those into sea's but its more of a "OMG REACH IS AWESOME" vod rather than a "Sea is godly" vod... if you can give me a reason then ill chuck it in

PokJu[S.G] - Seol Hyun Ho - 설현호 Race: Protoss Birthdate: ??/??/1990 Current Team: HanbitStars Former Team(s): N/A Nickname(s): N/A Achivements N/A Bio Picked up in the 2005 draft by HanbitStars, Seol Hyun Ho would struggle with his struggling team. the 2005 season was not very good for HanbitStars, nor Hyun Ho who attained a 0% winrate going 0-3. However, his games showed potential especially considering his age. Against his match with Lee Yoon Yeol (NaDa) in proleague he attained a large advantage, before Yoon Yeol staging quite an impressive comeback. The potential in this young player was very evident.
Nevertheless he struggled on, aiding his team where he could and he became an extremely valued practice partner. Not only for his team, but the fabled 'God of War' Park Sung Jun (Julyzerg);
- You're the first to advance to the semifinals this season. ▲ Advancing to the semis feels great every time. But this time my emotions are very high, because I have a clear goal. I would like to thank SauL[gm] of eNature, and free[gm], PokJu[S.G] of Hanbit for helping me practice. We praticed a lot for this match. I even played a 50-minute marathon past midnight. Those three players have gotten much better. Watch out for them this year. - Park Sung Jun
Hyun Ho would not reach the level of excellence his teammate Yoon Yong Tae (free[gm]) would in 2006, but he developed a strong macro at least equal that of Yoon Tae.
In MBC Movies 10th Survivor League, Hyun Ho demonstrated some of the potential that had been observed in the prior year. He opened by demolishing Lee Yoon Yeol with super agressive play, only to lose on the incredibly imbalanced PvT map Desert FoX to Ku Sung Hoon (HiyA[fOu]). Then showed some incredible macro against Lee Yoon Yeol in the final set, but unfortunatly his micro was not up to par and Yoon Yeol lived through the masses of units and sent his metal armies to victory.
Pokju displayed some impressive macro alongside some very unimpressive micro this game. His continual reaver harass was mostly unsuccesful, but despite losing 5+ reavers and a few shuttles he managed to build up a decent ground army AND a carrier force and achieve some success with them... for a while. His carriers were perpetually caught and killed by Nada, who defended himself from reavers, goon/lot attacks on all fronts, storms, carriers and pretty much everything flawlessly before finally rolling out with a huge metal army that Pokju couldn't stop. - Sir Alex
In 2007, Hyun Ho has only played in proleague; with disappointing results. Sporting yet another 0% winrate going 0-3. However, he is still young (17 years old in 2007) and despite his career record of 1-11 (8.33% winrate) he promises to make an impact in the near future.

But yeah, I thought some of the shittier players deserved some description. Thanks a lot.
The last game I saw of his was when he faced off against Bisu and fell victim to a manner-pylon-turned-into-proxy-2gate. The entire time I was like "how the fuck do you die to that?" and I was watching it before my very eyes.

To showcase their 2 brand new maps, Longinus and Blitz, MBC showcased a MSL Map Prematch featuring one protoss, one terran and one zerg player duking it out over the 2 new battlefields. The players selected were all amateurs, the protoss being Kim Jae Hoon, terran being 정현식 (Only[S.G]) and the zerg being Lim Jae Duk (zergbOng).
The show opened with a rather average TvZ on Longinus between the terran and zerg. Then it was Jae Hoon's turn to play. In his first televised appearance, he dominated Jae Duk convincingly on Longinus. Then, in the next match against 정현식 he caused a feeling of great excitement within the commentators and showcased Spirit-esque (PuSan-esque) macro which impressed everyone watching.
the commentators actually started to get excited during this PvT game - Fishball
That P was very Pusan-esque. I'm sure he picked up his style from his teammate. - HonestTea
He followed up his performances against 정현식 on Blitz but lost to Jae Duk after a failed proxygate. After this impressive showing as an amateur he failed to make an appearance for a while- which of course is expected.
In the dieing months of 2006 Jae Hoon is building up quite a formidable reputation as a 2v2 player. Struggling to find a suitable replacement for the Kim Dong Hyun/Kim Taek Yong (Saint/Bisu) combination (as Taek Yong was being used as a 1v1 weapon) MBCGame Hero experimented with many combinations eventually settling on Jae Hoon as the preferred protoss for 2v2. Together with team mate Jung Yung Chul (TheZerg) they achieved good results. Including the epic fast expand build on vampire in a critical set against CJ, and they have also defeated the fabled Lee Chang Hoon/Park Sung Hoon (Sigamari/TT) team which secured a 3-0 of Samsung KHAN.

RainBOw - Kim Sung Jae - 김성제 - Protoss Teams: Ideal Space, SK Telecom T1 Guilds: IntoThe (Into The) Nicknames: Reaver Toss, Girl Toss Span of Career: 2002 - Present
Initially being in the Ideal Space pro-team along with BoxeR, YellOw and NaDa, Rainbow was known as the apprentice of former IntoThe star, IntoTheRain. Rainbow is known for his powerfull spell usage, as well as reaver micromanagement. While in Ideal Space, Rainbow got off his pro-gaming career by playing in various KPGA, ghemTV and OGN leagues with little sucess.
At the end of 2002, he announced his intentions to leave Ideal Space, right after Boxer's departure to form his own Orion team. Ideal Space, using the sport contract system, tried to keep Rainbow into his contract and force him to stay onto the team. Eventually, Orion (now SK Telecom) managed to get around this and Rainbow was re-united with his former teammate.
Rainbow would now proceed to be Orion's main Protoss player until the arrival of Kingdom some months later from Hanbit. It was obvious that his PvZ was his strongest match-up, but his PvP and PvT were not too appealing. Rainbow's first major league was NHN, where he would get an impressive 2-1 record, but unfortunately be eliminated via Tiebreak games.
After qualifying for the Gillette Starleague, and losing out in the group stages, it hasn't been the same for Rainbow. His impressive style of game has been overcome by newer, impressive play-styles. Although participating in many teamleagues, and a KT-KTF, it looked liked the end of Rainbows career.
Until he managed to miraciously qualify for both Shinhan 2005 and Shinhan 2006 1. Along with his qualification for the CYON MSL, it looked good for Rainbow. Some impressive games in all leagues would have fan's hope for a comeback, but unluckiness of the draw got the better of him, as he was eliminated in bracket stages of all leagues.
After this, he has taken a more lenient look at pro-gaming as newer Protoss players fill in his shoes for SK Telecom. After some poor losses this season, he has bound to be retiring soon.
thank you oh so very much, gtr. i don't mean to whine, i was wondering why no one had done a writeup on the man whose harrassment plays are an art form. and great jobs, guys!

It seems that the reaver, when conjured up by Protoss users, only listens to Kim Sung Jae perfectly. He is its true owner. - OGN Commentator
Rainbow's style is totally unique. You can tell he's not great at killing pushes or doing really good against large terran armies in general, but man his shuttle control is amazing. Constant reaver drops, storm drops, dts drops with lethal timing and precision. It can pretty much be compared to Boxer-TvZ-like harrassment. - PoP
"Even if you know it's coming, you can't protect yourself from his reavers."
There is no one in progaming who has influenced the scene more without winning a single major title in his career than Kim Sung Jae. Sung Jae and his reavers have left an irreversible mark on the progaming scene is a protoss legend to the fullest extent of the phrase. Sung Jae started out in the progaming world as the protégé of veteran Im Sung Choon (IntoTheRain). In many ways, his time as understudy had a large influence on the unique style of his own gameplay. Sung Choon's fabled spell usage and wizardry of the protoss race is still seen today in Sung Jae's very own spell usage in particular the use of storm.
Sung Jae was signed to Ideal Space, which boasted the incredible lineup of Lim Yo Hwan (Boxer), Lee Yoon Yeol (NaDa), Hong Jin Ho (YellOw) and Kim Hyun Jin (kOs) among others. Sung Jae would participate in many leagues but find little success in his time in IS. Towards the end of the year the condition in IS deteriorated rapidly resulting in the departure of Yo Hwan. Sung Jae also tried to get out of the environment, and but to contractual difficulties things remained very uncertain for his playing career. Yo Hwan's new team (Orion) managed to settle disputes with IS and was handpicked by Yo Hwan for the team, assuming the role of premiere protoss. This was despite claims by Yo Hwan's father that Sung Jae was a bad practice partner.
Sung Jae's distinctive style was very much in the fore front during this time. Notable in his 2nd challenge league matches (2002 3rd OnGameNet Challenge league). But could only manage a win against Kim Jeong Min (TheMarine) in ODT falling one step short of qualification. Sung Jae also put on an impressive showing at WCG Korea 2003 only losing to eventual representative Kim Hwan Joong (Rage).
Sung Jae was gaining momentum, and even qualified for the NHN Hangame OSL. His skill was undeniable and this was clearly evident in his game against Cha Jae Wook (Cloud) where he mind controlled an SCV and proceeded to build tanks to defeat him. But the defining moment of his career was the 4th KBK Jeju (2003). With stats 6-1 and defeating starcraft greats such as Lim Yo Hwan (Boxer), Kim Jeong Min (TheMarine) and Lee Jae Hoon (fOru), he won the tournament. Using his micro oriented style, with tons of flare and reavers, he became a fan favorite and was loved by all.
Once he defeated Seo Ji Hoon (XellOs) after his win in Jeju island, he looked to become one of the great protoss's like his predecessor Im Sung Choon (IntoTheRain). He went 2-1 in the group stages of NHN Hangame OSL including a notable victory over Lee Yoon Yeol (Nada) and looked to be on fire. However, he was denied entry into the round of 8 in the tiebreak round - losing 0-2. Sung Jae followed up his starleague performance by qualifying for Gillete OSL In the group stages he once again beat Lee Yoon Yeol (Nada) but went 1-2 overall.
Sung Jae was not one to take failure as the end of the world, and powered ahead and preformed amazingly in the Tuscon MBCGame Teamleague even preforming a all-kill of Soul. With KT-KTF looming around the corner, Sung Jae received an invite for his performances and crowd entertaining control. Despite going 3-8, he showed some skillful games and solidified his position as master of the reaver.
Sung Jae remained quiet for the first half of 2005, but in the second half he qualified for both Cyon MSL and Shinhan 2005 OSL. In both tournaments he showed that his micro-oriented style could keep up with the wave of macro players that had flooded the scene. In a famous game against Lee Byung Min (Goodfriend) on R-Point in Cyon MSL he demonstrated 'victory by a thousand punches' using pure reaver harassment to win. Sung Jae's run in Cyon MSL was stopped after defeating Byung Min (2-1) and Ji hoon (2-0) (XellOs) by Park Jung Suk (Reach) losing 1-2.. In Shinhan 2005 he lost once again in a tiebreak to once again miss out on the round of 8.
In 2006, Sung Jae made the wildcard round of the Shinhan 1 OSL where once again he lost; and was again denied entry into the round of 8. In 2006 he was awarded the award for best display of talent and skill by KeSPA. Since then, he has had mixed results but manages to win when it counts the most like against Kim Taek Yong (Bisu) in the 2006 Proleague final.
Sung Jae's style over the years had remained constant and always impressive and in the words of Kim Dong Soo (GARIMTO)
Unlike most Protoss users that use the firm Protoss characteristics of strength and power, IntoTheRainbow skillfully dances around his opponents, taunting them with clever movements just outside their reach. Unlike most Protoss users that develop the traditional macro-oriented style, Rainbow is unusually highly developed in agitating the enemy with micro-intensive skills. - Kim Dong Soo
For such a remarkable player with a career which has impacted the the starcraft scene so much, it is only fair to give the last word to Sung Jae himself on the subject of his playstyle;
It's not just the reaver. I have fun with all expensive high-tech units; I save money that way. When I use guerilla-attacks for a long time, my units just keep piling up. I guess I've become accustomed to controlling the game using high-tech units. - Kim Sung Jae

Achievements 2nd KeSPA Cup - 2nd Place (KHAN All-kill) Bio After earning a formidable online reputation in his guild, n.Die_, Lee Seung Hoon was signed to KOR after the 2006 draft after impressing coaches in trials with current members. The investment would pay off, and despite losing his first proleague match, formed a strong 2v2 combination with Ju Jin Chul (Side_LeGenD). Together they would be the crux of the OGN 2v2 effort.
Seung Hoon first made his name on the scene in a rather embarrassing way. In in OGN/KTF proleague match in season 2 of 2006, Seung Hoon accidentally used the 'to-all' chat command and typed '아놔 씨발', which translates to 'Ah Fuck!' (screenshot here). This was appropriate for his team, as they were getting destroyed by Park Jung Suk (Reach) and his partner Lim Jae Duk (Zergbong). However, for the viewing audience it was not appropriate, and the team was fined and docked a point in proleague.
Seung Hoon was dissatisfied with his position as 2v2 player and vowed to make it big in the 1v1 stage. He practiced hard, and at one stage won no games for three days straight. However, with pure determination became one of OGN's strongest 1v1 players. His first chance to show off his new found skills was at the 2nd KeSPA cup; where he proceeded to all kill an impressive Samsung KHAN lineup (Song Byung Goo, Byun Eun Jong and Park Sung Jun - Stork, JJu and Zergman). This earned him many fans in both Korea and Teamliquid.net. He then proceeded to advance from the 11st MBC Movies Survivor to qualify for GOM TV 2 MSL.
In Season 1 of Proleague 2007 he took center stage for OGN, demonstrate countless ceremonies. All of which were highly entertaining. Some say that he inspired the wave of ceremonies to erupt from almost all progamers in 2007. Nevertheless, with his new found strength and unmistakable agressive style in combination with his shameless ceremonies he quickly became a fan favorite. He has met more controversy in his playing career, like the time he forced a draw on Nemesis against Ahn Gi Hyo (Nal_Rock) when he was clearly in an inferior position.
Despite not doing too well in GOM TV 2 MSL and having no other major league results, he is on the verge of becoming an extremely successful protoss user reminiscent of teammate Jun Tae Gyu (Zeus) who also had very flamboyant ceremonies.

Boasting a proud and formidable online record, much was expected of this young gamer;
With an amazing record of 0/10 for 2002 Junitoss is failing to live up to his online reputation
Sadly, he just couldn't cope under the ever watchful eye of the T.V. Camera.
In his FighterForum career interview, Jun Hee talked about his shyness and how he gets embarrassed and nervous very easily. Thus the moment he was put on T.V he struggled immensely. Some people compared him to V-Gundam;
junitoss is like v-gundam he sucks in fron of auidence --; he can never be a real progamer.. -bizkit
It has always been an uphill struggle for this player.
In the offline qualification tournament for the challenge league. Jun Hee became one of the most hated men alive when he denied none other than Seo Ji Soo (Tossgirl) from entering the Challenge league. And of course, he went on to lose in the Challenge league adding to everyone's fury.
After a 12 game losing streak to open his career, he finally won a game against Na Gyung Bo (Junior). Jun Hee would preform well under his online skill and post inconsistent results throughout his career, however he did manage to beat American Progamer Assem. His self-proclaimed most memorable game would be played against Park Myung Soo (Yellow[arnc]) in the loser's match in the 2004 proleague. However important to him, the game was glossed over by essentially all.
Jun Hee's claim to fame would occur in 2005 in the final match in his ODT group against none other than Lim Yo Hwan (Boxer) on Forte. Due to the design of forte, the mains are very small in addition to this it was one of the first times Yo Hwan had played a televised game on this map. While playing the game Yo Hwan typed "Main is too small T_T" and Jun Hee nerves broke. He scouted every possible place for a proxy, his entire game fell to pieces and Yo Hwan stomped him like a USEast pubbie. In response to this, KeSPA created a rule which banned all speaking to all players unless it was an act of surrender or to pause the game.
Jun Hee would also prove to be a wildcard player for MBCGame Hero. In the 2006 season 1 proleague finals against SKT1, Jun Hee was used on the map (Old) Peaks of Baekdu (incredibly imbalanced PvZ) against Park Tae Min (Gorush). Despite expected a Terran player, he demonstrated one of the greatest games of his career using a 1base Goon-Reaver build to almost topple the great master of the swarm. Since then, people everywhere have become wary of Jun Hee's sniper potential.
Because Jun Hee is a first rate online player, he is an invaluable practice partner. He is often cited by teammates as a excellent practice partner and thanked very much. So despite his career winrate of 15.15%, he is a well respected member of MBCGame Hero and in his own special little way, has impacted the scene forever.

ID: GoRush, [STAR]GoRuSh Name: Park Tae Min Race: Zerg Nickname: Magician of Management (Result of Management Zerg and Wizard of Operations) Teams: Suma Greatest Ones (GO), SKTelecomT1 (current)
GoRush is one cool dinosaur. A witness to the growth of the StarCraft professional scene in South Korea, GoRush seized the gold medal at the World Cyber Games Challenge in 2000 (the forerunner to today’s World Cyber Games) by outplaying fellow zerg I_Love.Star (probably the forerunner to YellOw as he also placed second in two KBKs) and top non-korean NTT (forerunner to every non-korean – I’m looking at you Elky, Fisheye, Androide etc. - that has managed to beat a Korean in WCG only to lose to the gold medalist). With an automatic berth into WCG 2001, GoRush still took the bronze to a Boxer - Yellow finals.
It was then that GoRush realized the need for proper schooling and took a break from pro-gaming to continue his studies. After the two years needed to finish High School he returned to his passion in 2003. Joining the GO team he gained renown for his high level of game strategy understanding and hardworking practice ethic. Taking the crown for strongest ZvZ he killed zerg greats such as Jju 3-0 (to win Challenge League), Chojja (former ZvZ all-star), Junior (in the 1st KPGA Teamleague finals), and YellOw (in the Neowiz Pmang Proleague finals to help Suma GO win the championship). Riding into the NHN Hangame OSL as the OGN Challenge League champion he attained a record of 11 consecutive wins, breaking Boxer’s record of 10. Although he would lose to Silent_Control’s famed cheese to be knocked out of NHN he definitely had made his presence felt.
As 2004 arrived so did GoRush’s heightened ZvP skills. While he was barely knocked out in the first rounds of both Gilette OSL and EVER 1 OSL he was still able to make it back into the next ones in part due to his stellar ZvP. For 11 months he went undefeated ZvP before losing to Nal_Ra in an intense match on the KT-KTF Premiere League. Throughout all of 2004 that was his only ZvP loss. It wasn’t until the second half of 2004 however that his ZvT ascended to the next level to match his legendary ZvZ and now seemingly unstoppable ZvP. Entering IOPS OSL, You are the Golf King MSL, and the second KT-KTF Premiere League he worked with rival JulyZerg to usher in an era of zerg power. As the only truly top tier zergs since YellOw, July would be the first Zerg to win a Starleague (Gilette) and GoRush would be the first Zerg to win the MSL by defeating a very-much-in-shape NaDa 4-2 (yes, a bo7 marathon). At the same time he placed third in IOPS OSL losing a very close 2-3 series to NaDa; establishing himself as one of the best ZvTers. Meanwhile, JulyZerg and GoRush were ripping up the KT-KTF premiere league to inevitably meet in the finals where GoRush’s ZvZ failed him as he fell 2-3 to JulyZerg (previously suspected of having weak ZvZ), forever placing July above GoRush in the eyes of spectators.
This was the zenith of GoRush’s play, placing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in three major leagues at the same time. At his prime it was as if he had no weak match ups (nearly undefeated ZvP, near-impossible ZvZ streaks, and being the only zerg who could stand up to NaDa in a series) and was all over the scene. His play was defined as being the master of game management (a skill that Koreans prize as one of the three pillars with macro and micro) being able to control the flow of an entire match, always with the right units in the right positions. In many ways he set the stones for sAviOr to dominate with an advanced management style in 2005 and 2006. GoRush’s ownage in this period also convinced SK Telecom T1 to recruit him and his teammate Midas[gm] (this was when SKT1 and KTF were the only sponsors with money and were able to buy skilled players from homegrown teams like Suma GO). He became a critical component of SK Telecom T1’s reign over the 2005 Proleague and still hung around for a bit in individual leagues placing 4th in the EVER 2k5 OSL.
Eventually losing to a 4pool from Chojja in OSL and another 4pool from Oversky in MSL to get knocked out of the next leagues GoRush started the dreaded slump. 2006 featured a small resurgence as he appeared in all three of the Shinhan Bank OSLs for that season being eliminated by ZergMaN, Anytime, and Much, and advancing at least to the top 16 each time. 2007 has given GoRush fan’s a taste of his brilliance once again by his impressive streak through the GOM TV MSL (winning 2-0 in the dual section by beating sAviOr’s terran with a sicknasty queen infest strategy, 2-0 over prodigy terran Sea[Shield], and 3-0 over JulyZerg before falling 1-3 to finalist and previous champion Bisu[Shield]).
2007 also brought GoRush an interesting teammate in the form of JulyZerg who was released by MBC Hero as “too expensive”. This is only the latest in a number of teammates that GoRush has had time to learn from and share with which includes XellOs, sAviOr (as IPXZerg), and Nal_Ra from Suma GO as well as his SKT1 associates such as Boxer, iloveoov, Kingdom, Midas, and now July.

Just adding on to Cambium's excellent write up, since I have some stuff to add about Xellos's personal story.
He was undefeated on the map Bifrost and hence claimed his nickname, “perfect Terran” (his winning streak would eventually be ended by Nada).
Xellos's journey to the 2005 WCG Grand Finals was the subject of a documentary by the National Geographic Channel, the first time such in depth coverage had been offered to a pro-gamer on international television.
Xellos comes from a single parent family. His father passed away in a traffic accident when he was 12. Originally, his mother was absolutely opposed to his playing computer games and took several drastic measures to stop him. These included moving the computer to the living room, hiding the mouse and keyboard, and even doing away with the computer altogether. However, Xellos continued to play on the sly at night as well as in PC bangs.
When Xellos was signed on by the G.O. team, his mother claimed that she was only too glad to see him go. However, she eventually accepted his career choice and has since turned into a loyal supporter. Xellos has also been a filial son, supporting his mother with his earnings.
Xellos was once nicknamed "The Monster" and "The Monster Among Amatuers" before being signed on by the G.O. team. Since then, he has been seen as the lynchpin of the team, sticking with it even when the team could barely pay him.
* DDR also means masturbation "Ddal Ddal Re" in addition to Dance Dance Revolution.
Kingdom - Park Yong Wook - 박용욱 Race: Protoss Birthdate: 06/12/1983 Current Team: SK Telecom T1 (Captain) Former Team(s): Hanbit Stars, Orion, Dong-Yang team Nickname(s): Devil Toss, Tea Toss Trademark: Devilish micro, devil probe Favorite Unit: Dragoon and Probe Achievements Hanbitsoft OSL - 4th Place Mycube OSL - 1st Place SPRIS MSL - 2nd Place Sky Proleague 2005 - 1st Place (SK Telecom T1) Pringles 1 MSL - 3rd equal (with Midas) Bio
I believe all Protoss units have a lot of potential, they are just very hard to use. - Kingdom
Park Yong Wook is one of the most formidable protoss opponents anywhere. Known for particularly amazing control (specifically probe and dragoon control) and for being one of the 3 original protoss kings he is one of the great protoss users of our time. It has not always been easy for Yong Wook he had to overcome parents, slumps and school to get to where he is today. In many interviews he states that the hardest time in his career was when he was fighting against his parents by going pro.
Before his contract with Hanbitsoft, Yong Wook was already a well established protoss user. He had already participated in various KBK tournaments but did not turn pro until much later due to his education. So when Yong Wook made his first OSL in 2001 (Hanbitsoft OSL) he was doubling as a part-time gamer and full-time student. Given his skill and how far he had advanced into the tournament, his teacher (who had taugh him during his time in KBK tournaments) realised his potential and gave him time off to practice for his match against Lim Yo Hwan (Boxer). Despite finishing 4th in he OSL, he did remarkably well for a full-time student.
Obviously, when he turned full-time pro in the late half of 2002 Hanbitsoft readily took him aboard. But to do so, meant that he had to turn his back on his parents. They were pushing for him to continue in his education, or be sent to the army and did not approve of his career. Nevertheless he went to Hanbit and lived his dream. Yong Wook would follow Lim Yo Hwan to Orion after Hanbit after he decided to leave he team. The manager for Orion, Joo hoon, talked to Yong Wook before recruiting him, and upon hearing the issues with his parent went to sought it out. Thus, Joo Hoon organized a conference in which he persuaded them to let him play with their blessing, thy agreed.
About this time he earned the nickname "Devil Toss". Popular myth would have you believe that the nickname stems from Yong Wook being the anti-Hero to Park Jung Suk (Reach). However, the real root of the nickname came from two things. Firstly, when he was little he would always root for the bad guy over the good guy; he would always try to be the opposite. And secondly
Well let’s see… it probably started around the Hanbit Tourney… I think it was Jong ill-hoon who said it first I guess that’s how nicknames start usually. At first it was weird but after a while I wanted it to have a strong impression so I worked harder -Park Yong Wook
In the MyCube OSL, Yong Wook would show an impressive semifinal against Park Gyung Lak (Junwi) defeating him 3-0, and then go on to defeat Kang Min in the final 3-1. This impressive MyCube performance solidfied Yong Wook's claim as the third Protoss King. Defeating Kang Min here would start the fan circles dreaming up the "ra > reach > kingdom > ra" triangle. This victory is also noted by Yong Wook as the highlight of his career, as he got to win in front of his parents.
After the expected OSL Curse slump, Yong Wook bounced back in 2004 blitzing his group 3-0 in Gillette OSL while simultaneously reaching the winner bracket semi-finals in SPRIS MSL. While just losing out to Na Doh Hyun (Silent_Control) 1-2 in the Round of 8 in OSL, he stormed through MSL; losing to Choi Yun Sung (iloveoov) in the winner's final, defeating Kang Min (nal_ra) in the loser's final, and losing again to Choi Yun Sung in the Grand Final 3-2. Yong Wook has remarked that of all terran players, Choi Yun Sung is the hardest for him to play against.
During WCG Korea 2004, Yong Wook lost 1-2 to Park Sung Jun (Julyzerg) but on Korhal of Ceres earned himself an unpimpest play award for preforming a proxy 2 gate zeal rush; only to trap his zealots in with his gates. This move, dubbed 'Kingdumb', has gone down in WCG and Starcraft history as one of the worst rushes ever preformed. Yong Wook was invited to participate in KT-KTF 2004 and preformed weakly, going 4-7 overall.
In You Are the Golf King MSL, Yong Wook would showcase another impressive performance. Notably against Kim Hwan Joong (Rage) on Arizona where he defeated a fully operational base with 2 dragoons (he had lost his main thanks to a zealot rush). This display of micro is one of the most impressive demonstrations of control recorded on T.V. and has been immortalized because of it. However, he did not go too far in the tournament losing in the Loser Bracket Ro8-2.
Yong Wook made appearances in Starleagues during 2005, but did not get out of the group stages. However, he did play a vital role in SK Telecom T1's 2005 Proleague victory. Aiding his team in winning both Round 1, Round 2 and the Grand Finals in 2005. He would also aid in the the 2006 Proleague Season 1 victory over MBCgame Hero.
Yong Wook also participated in both Pringles 1 and Pringles 2 MSL. In Pringles 1, he made an impressive showing; including a mind control rush against Park Jung Suk on 815 III, and demolishing old-time barrier Choi Yun Sung 2-1 and the Emperor himself- Lim Yo Hwan, on his way to the semi-finals. Despite losing to Kang Min (Nal_ra) 3-0, it was an impressive showing nonetheless. In Pringles 2 he again made an impressive showing. Against Lee Yoon Yeol on Blitz he showed some uncharacteristic insane macro, which completely destroyed his opponent. He eventually lost out to Shim So Myung (Silver) in the quarter finals.
Yong Wook assumed the captaincy of SKT1 after Lim Yo Hwan departed for the army and has not qualified for any SL's in 2007.

"Starcraft 1.08 Build Order" by Intotherain, themarine and jinnam.
Im Sung Choon, better known as IntoTheRain started playing Original Starcraft since 1998, October, and started progaming since 2000, spring from Game-q Star League. He decided to start playing with Prototss, because Terran was too simple, and Zerg was too disgusting. And he always used to like some magic stuff before Starcraft, so decided to choose Protoss. Sung-Choon never liked crowded places, with people watching him playing. He mentioned in a number interviews, that he sweat a lot, and that he often made some mistakes when playing in front of massive live audience. He felt that he couldn't prove all his skills. Before his progaming days Rain was in a guild called IntoThe, the very same team from where his apprentice, IntoTheRainbow, would also rise a bit later. When the guild was first founded, the leaders made a bunch of id's from which the players could choose from. Rain never got the best id in his opinion, IntoTheAiur, as it was already taken. So he was forced to take in his opinion the worst one, intotherain.
Sung-Choon made himself known by winning one of the Game-q tournaments finals vs boxer(3-2), and went later on to win the Gembc race wars also vs boxer( 3-0). Although Rain will probably stay considered as one of the best Protoss players ever, he never made it big in the Starleagues making it only to the second round twice, Hanbitsoft and Coca Cola starleagues. The main reason why he never got to show his skill in high level OGN is probably what I've already mentioned earlier; he was pretty nervous to play in front of a audience. One of the things that seem to prove this point is that he annihilated most of the players in the Game-q tournaments because the games were played in closed chambers, no audience to worry about. Ironically considering the history with Boxer in Game-q tournaments, he was the one to drop Sung-Choon from his last Starleague, the Coca Cola Starleague. Although IntoTheRain did well against every race, he earned himself to be known as one of the best PvZ'ers because of his storms.
After his progaming career Sung-Choon, went on to become a commentator for KT-KTF. He also mentioned in his interviews of the possibility of opening his own internet café. But today now that IntoTheRain is long gone, and his apprentice IntoTheRainbow also fading, it is time to get nostalgic.
TT - Park Sung Hoon - 박성훈 Race: Protoss Birthdate: 22/04/1985 Current Team: Samsung KHAN Former Team(s): N/A Nickname(s): N/A Trademark: Cheese, Proxies Achievements 1st KeSPA Cup - 1st Place (Samsung KHAN) Korea E-Sports Award for Best Teamplay 2006 (With Sigamari aka Zerglee) Bio Park Sung Hoon was one of the youngest progamers to play a televised game in his day. At the young age of 17, he played his first televised games in the Ghem TV Starleague. He preformed averagely going 1-2 overall. However his unique "style" was quickly exposed. Sung Hoon would be the master of the proxy strategies and cheese rushes. While at the time, fans had a mixed response to this, this would ultimately lead to him being labeled a "newb" by most of the community;
And yeah, [EroS]~TT's still a newb and he CRUMBLED under ChRh's methodical onslaught. - mensrea
He would find some success in his 2nd Ghem TV appearance. His proxy/cheese rush style would be great for one-off matches. And consequently he scored wins against great players such as Seo Ji Hoon (Xellos) and Kim Jeong Min (TheMarine) but sadly, his strength did not lie in non-cheese games and crumbled against Park Jung Suk (Reach) preventing his advance any further.
In Proleague and Teamleague he preformed well for Samsung KHAN, scoring wins against Elky and Grrr in relatively quick succession. But could not be counted on for results when it mattered. And for this reason Sung Hoon never got that far past group stages in any major tournament. Also qualification for these tournaments would be up in the air, as his style is a very chancy one.
Sung Hoon would find his strength in 2v2. He, along with his partner Kim Geun Baek (Saferzerg) would be Samsung KHAN's primary 2v2 team from 2003 to 2004. He was also considered KHAN's main 2v2 force, even pairing with Choi Soo Bum (DoGGi) on Neo Jungle Story in some matches. Sung Hoon's 2v2 effort would go in vain until 2005, when KHAN picked up the valuable Lee Chang Hoon (Sigamari/Zerglee) who was the 2v2 specialist from SKT1. The two would become the 2v2 force behind KHAN's strong Proleague run in 2005.
Despite being the 2nd half to the 2v2 team, he received little credit as Chang Hoon took all the fame. Being a zerg player allowed him to play in all team matches on all map, hence got a far greater exposure. Nevertheless, the two were a formidable team.
Sung Hoon made a strong 1v1 effort in 2006 and it got some results for him. He cheesed his way into Shinhan 2 OSL, where he proceeded to Cheese his way over Hong Jin Ho (Yellow) (which made many people angry at him), cheese through the wildcards and then get out-cheesed by Lee Yoon Yeol (Nada) in the Round of 16. After this OSL effort he moved on to MSL, where he did poorly as well.
By many he is still considered an average gamer, and one that will never make it big. Often he is blamed for losing the 2v2, and has even been labeled a choke artist;
Sudden Death: TT > YellOw @ Arcadia 2 I swear OSL gave a freebie to YellOw. A choke artist vs YellOw on an imba Z map. Stupid KTFers and their stupid slumps. - jkillashark
Still he persists in various leagues, and makes a strong case in 2v2. But ultimately, no one believes he will ever make it big.

ShinHwA[Name] - Choi Ka Ram - 최가람 Race: Zerg Birthdate: 10/01/1985 Current Team: Lecaf OZ Former Team(s): Plus Achievements N/A Bio Choi Ka Ram started out his Progaming career as an amateur. Just like every body else. But, in the year of 2003 he would begin his career. Lacking the backing of a team, and still essentially an amateur he participated in both the OSL prelims (for entry into challenge league) in July and December, and MSL Prelims in November. And again, through 2004 he participated in various challenge leagues. Winning the occasional game, and set- but never qualifying for the Dual Tournament or Survivor (he did however, make the challenge league). However, he remained unsigned all of 2004- but was picked up in 2005 by Plus.
In 2005 he made it into the Dual Tournament (after Dual and Challenge leagues were merged) however he lost. From here he began to make appearances for his team in Proleague. Despite having an abysmal T.V record, he never gave up determination and in 2006 he rose through the ranks rapidly. Following on from team mate Oh Yeong Jong's (Anytime) success in So1 OSL, Ka Ram looked to follow in his footsteps and aid in bearing the team through proleague with Yeong Jong. With such moves as fake-tech in zvp (he had 9 larvae and as soon as spire was built he spawned 9... fully upgraded hydralisks- promptly destroying the protoss) he was hyped up to be one of the greatest newcomers around.
After Shinhan 2005 OSL, the tournament was expanded to 24 players. Some fans complained that this was just to ensure that Lim Yo Hwan (Boxer) qualified for the OSL. In Group A of the 2 extra groups, Ka Ram went 2-0 and convincingly made it into Shinhan 1 OSL. After landing himself in a tough group (Lim Yo Hwan/Boxer, Park Ji Ho/Pusan, Byun Eun Jong/JJu) he went 1-2. Thanks to the newly invented wildcard round- Ka Ram was given a second chance at the Ro16. Defeating fan favourite, and newly revived Kim Sung Jae (Intotherainbow) 2-0 scored him a place in the Ro16. His opponent for this round would be none other than Lim Yo Hwan - who had defeated him in about 5 minutes in their group games.
The fans predictions were obvious;
Boxer will throw away one game for the sake of the fans, he's that sexy, but end up winning it anyway because he's just so hopelessly uber. - Fireblast
lol there is no way boxer is going to lose this, you guys are freaking stupid if you think otherwise. - rel
wtf you guys are on crack. How shinwa is even here is a mystery, and him beating a Boxer who's ona what? 15-0 streak tvz? is not gonna happen in this millennium. -ToKoreaWithLove
No predictions needed because Boxer will beat ShinHwa so bad that it is already a fact. -[X]Ken_D
The fans were dead wrong. Ka Ram defeated Yo Hwan 2-1 in the upset of the OSL. Fans around the world went crazy with disappointment, and often hatred for Ka Ram.
FUCK - ilikestarcraft
In addition to this, it would be Yo Hwan's last OSL before entering the army.
However, for Ka Ram this would prove to be the highlight of his career to date. After defeating Yo Hwan, he lost to Hong Jin Ho (Yellow) 1-2 and proceeded to drop out of OSL- not even securing 5th or 6th seed (losing 0-2). Ka Ram was denied entry into all OSL/MSL's following Shinhan 1 and has played in very little 1v1 Proleague games; being replaced by the trendier Lee Jae Dong (Jaedong) for the position of number 1 zerg for Lecaf. His position in the team nowadays resides in the 2v2 team with Lee Hak Ju (Dongrae).
Dongrae and Shinhwa have been Lecaf’s ZT stalwarts throughout the season. Competent 1v1 players in their own right, they have considerable experience playing Vampire (they were assigned the map last season as well). They boast a 6-2 record this season, which compares favorably to even the highly regarded Samsung Khan 2v2 teams. - thedeadhaji
The future is uncertain for this promising zerg player. But nonetheless, we wait to see what Ka Ram has in store for us next.
Notable Game Too lazy to find any myself, tell me if you got any
Hammered out a rough draft for Reach's. Some bracketed sentences are only half-serious. Eliminate if necessary.
[Oops]Reach – Park Jung-Suk; 박정석 Race: Protoss Birthdate: 12/27/1983 Current Team: KTF MagicN’s Former Team(s): HanbitStars Achievements: 1st, SKY OnGameNet StarLeague 2002 2nd, KPGA 3rd 2002 2nd, Gillette OnGamenet StarLeague 2004 2nd, Uzoo MSL 2005 1st, poll amongst progamers [to select best looking one] (I’m serious)
Bio: From PuSan, Park Jung-Suk was initially taken on by Hanbit to be a 2v2 specialist. Partnered with H.O.T.-Forever, he gained a fearsome reputation as a powerful teamplayer. After the release of revealing photos depicting an unclothed Reach posing with a similarly naked H.O.T., his fame increased.
However, he showed lackluster performance as a 1v1 player. In 2001, he made somewhat of a splash in SKY 2001 – though he was eliminated early on, he was the only Protoss player in the tournament to have a winning record against BoxeR – and the only plto player in the tournament aside from GARIMTO to have taken a game from Him.
The win was due to those qualities that made him famous – his incredible macro, uncanny storming abilities, and godlike micro. The macro, especially – he was the prototype macro player; before oov, there was Reach. While his micromanagement of all Protoss units shone, his ability to crank out legions of holy Protoss to do his bidding led to the rise of his star.
The following year, he won the 2002 SKY OnGameNet StarLeague, again beating BoxeR in a convincing set of games in the finals to take the crown. [Of note is their game on Neo Forbidden Zone. Signature shuttle/templar play from Reach, therefore Mudang Protoss] From then on, he was hailed as the Hope and the Hero of Protoss – throughout the dark times of Protoss, he maintained top 5 kespa rank for longer than any Protoss – indeed, for longer than almost any other progamer. [Not TOO sure about this, since the literature on top 5 ranks isn’t as extensive as top 3 ranks; YellOw might have been top 5 for longer]
Sometime during early 2004 Reach was offered an 80,000,000 won per year contract by KTF; he took them up on their offer [who wouldn’t?] It was renewed the following year for 230,000,000 won. During the crisis of the Mercury era [Gamevil OCL, G-voice OCL, Gillette 2004 OSL, EVER 2004 OSL] Protosses were being annihilated. Mercury holds a sub-30 percent win rate for PvZ; but in that time, Reach lived up to his name, and trampled his way through all opposition.
Yet, in Gillette, he still fell to a horribly dressed watermelon 1-3 in the finals, losing on such maps as Fuckury and July’s-Favorite-Map-Where-Mutalisks-Are-Unstoppable. In EVER, he lost 2-3 to the monster known as iloveoov in semifinals. [epic game 1 on Mercury]
In the third place match of said tournament, he beat his friend and teammate YellOw 3-2. In the post-game interview, he announced that the second game on Requiem was his favorite because he won “in true protoss fashion” with a two-gate rush – he ended by claiming that “a true man’s pride should be his zealots”. Along with such statements as “Protoss is a man’s race – it is both tough and straight”, these publicity affairs gave him an aura of manliness.
The following year, Reach triumphed over his teammate ChOJJa 3-2 [game on Rush Hour loudest decibel level of any pro-game ever -_-; ] to advance to the finals of UZOO MSL. There, he suffered defeat against the up-and-coming ipxzerg – another loss to another zerg 1-3 in the finals. Shortly thereafter, he entered a long slump – the fabled KTF Captain's slump - and again he reverted to his old role of 2v2 specialist in ProLeague, partnering first with YellOw and subsequently with ZergbOng.
Yet, in 2007, after over a year in offlines, when all hope seemed lost.. Reach woke up, and remembered he was the Hero of Protoss. [or GARIMTO took over the captaincy and things got better -_-;] Trampling through offlines with a perfect record, and then losing only one game in Dual Tournament, Reach returned to the arena in Daum OSL. Amidst cries of his fangirls [and fanboys], he advanced with a perfect record to quarterfinals. Yet, tragically, he lost to Stork 1-2, and was eliminated from the tournament.
He continues to be a valuable 2v2 resource for KTF, and also has played a large part in the upbringing of their newest [and first in-house raised] star, Flash.
“why do you not belive it? The legend has alived!” – Korean fangirl, on Reach’s DCinside.
rofl i can imagine koreans checking out reach's tlpd profile and going "ha? what is fuckury sumida?"
i know i'm in not in a position to comment as i've not contributed to this project, but perhaps you could make the writeup less informal, lr? your knowledge and passion definitely show through (which is what i assume mani is looking for), but it'd be much more suited for tlpd if you cleaned it up a bit!
i loved the nuggets of info you slotted in, like the ktf captain's curse, and mercury being a pvz graveyard, but there are more objective ways of delivering them i think!
Just an update on this. I am still working on it, but had a break because of Blizzcon. As you probably now know these will be entries into the TLPD. I am going to edit them so they are a similar style, but everyone will be getting their credit of course. I will post a list of players finished soon, and then people can take the ones that arent done yet.
Choi Hong Hee, also known as Asuka-Jr is a new rising protoss in the team Samsung Khan. He is mostly known for his PvZ matchup. He emerged to the progaming scene and to the knowledge of foreign community in 2006, but not by winning something big. He made his name known through Afreeca, a software that allowed foreigners to follow lesser promatches and tourneys such as the JoPD. During the prime of PGT he ravaged his way through to earn olympic ranking in the ladder, when many of the korean progamers and semipros were playing it, under the screenname nan[hanjihye]. The most enthusiastic fans were already calling his unorthodox pvz and smart pvt as the next Nal_rA himself. He was often thought to be the next big thing in the Protoss lines among with Bisu and Tempest. The matchup that made Asuka-Jr known was PvZ, his style in the 2006 was amazingly different than the usual strategies versus Zerg. He used dragoons as the backbone of his army, supported by reavers. He didn\'t feel any kind of a need to expand as soon as possible to his natural, instead he expanded after harassing, when he knew it would be safe. It was widely discussed if his weakness would be some intense and dedicated mutalisk harrass, but replays against strategies such as that never leaked. No matter the matchup i think its safe to assume that everyone was pretty much amazed by his macro which was and is really good. That may be one of the reasons he got compared to Anytime and Pusan in the beginning. Even though using creative strategies and having a great macro his unit control didn\'t please everyone especially in the late game. On the other hand his early game control seemed to be impressive, fighting off early lings with first Zealots seemed to be no problem to him. Asuka-Jr is now a member of Samsung Khan, but hasn\'t got to play in too many televised matches and is starting to get forgotten. Although on Monday 20th of August 2007, it looks like OGN will hold their offline qualifiers for the upcoming Star Challenge Season 2 (Challenge League or ODT R1 for those not aware). As many know, this is more commonly known as PSL or PCBang Star League (for OGN atleast). And Asuka-Jr is fighting in the tournament in the group E accompanied with atleast Gorush and GoodFriend. Even though the group seems hard, maybe this tournament is the one where he finally makes it big.
i think azndsh's savior write up and the other person's ( sorry didnt see your nick!!) writeup should be combined and we would have a nice comprehensive one :D
Oh Chung Hoon - Shudder_V Team: SKTelecom T1 Date of Birth: 1990-05-12
Oh Chung Hoon is the rising Terran player of the wellknown Terran factory SKTelecom T1. Taught by players such as iloveoov and midas, he has played quite a few games for the team in proleague in both 1v1 and 2v2 games. He has stayed in the shadows for some time now, without making it into the big leagues. Who would have guessed, that in the year 2007 in the preliminaries to both 2nd MSL and 2nd OSL Shudder_V finally broke through finishing first in his groups. He faced and crushed players like Luxury, Free and UpMagic, and earned his place in the toughest competitions of StarCraft: Brood War. SKT T1 has used Shudder_V in quite many Proleague matches during the first round of 2007, with changing success. He has faced some tough opponents, of which Nada, Stork and Anytime should be mentioned at least. On 27th of June he faced Anytime in Proleague match versus Lecaf Oz a match which SKT T1 lost 1-3, Shudder being the only player to bring a victory to his team. He beat his opponent with a well executed marine scv rush. At about the same times Shudder was also fighting in another tournament, the 2007 OnGameNet StarChallenge Season 1, in which he had advanced from the group stage by beating BestGod and FrOzean[Name] a month earlier. On 11th of July 2007 the Tournament continued and Shudder got to play against Yooi. It was a best of three match up and the winner would continue in the tournament. First game was played on Python and by the time of "gg" Shudder was the one winning the match. The next two games however didn't quite go as planned and he got destroyed twice in a row and got eliminated from the tournament. Two weeks after Shudder_V finally pulled it through when it meant the most and he got his ticket to the 2nd OSL of 2007. This was soon followed by the qualification to the 2nd MSL of 2007 as he gave a warning to other progamers and fans to watch out for him in the upcoming leagues.
Jo Hyung Kun - Clon Date of Birth: 1984-10-16 Teams: Air Force ACE, Hanbitstars
On the 3rd of December in 2005 a progamer called Jo Hyung Kun gathered up his mouse and keyboard after just losing a MBC Movies MSL Survivor best of three match against Hwasin with a dissapointed look on his face. Well who wouldn't look sad or beaten after being denied access to a Starleague although being so close. The difference is that Jo Hyung Kun - Clon knew that this would be his last moment in the spotlight as a progamer. He had had two other beaks during his gaming career, both lasting two years and being basically forced to them by his parents in order to finish school. Ignoring the pressure that was brought on him by his family he returned to the game again and again. Seven years with computer games as a lifestyle and also as an occupation had just ended. Clon is one of the first progamers to emerge, having been there with the Hanbitstars ever since the beginning.
Clon's choice was a tough one, because of having breaks earlier and not making it big yet in any leagues. He was adviced by his fellow progamers such as Kingdom to take a deep breath and think it through, and what ever he would choose he should make the decision quickly. Soon enough, he had decided to retire on the grounds that he would give himself enough time to restart his studies after his national service before it was too late. "I never really set out to achieve anything big, I never had the ambition or drive. I just wanted to play the game because I loved it so much. So in retrospect I think I lacked too much motivation". During his career he made it to two Starleagues, those being Sky OnGameNet Starleague in 2001 and Iops OSL in 2004, and won a Proleague title with his team Hanbitstars. When asked in the interview right after his to be last televised games whether he had any thoughts about returning to the progaming, the answer he gave was "Perhaps I will have changed my mind, I don't know. If there is a place for me again somewhere, and I am wanted, I probably couldn't resist. Who knows?"
Little did Jo Hyung Kun and his fans know in 2006, one year after his retirement, the Air Force of South Korea informed of new plans; Air Force ACE progaming team. The team entered proleague with no other than Lim Yo Hwan as the captain of the team. Clon's help was wanted and needed as The ACE team would enter the Proleague and show the strength of the oldschoolers such as H.O.T-Forever and ChRh. And suddenly Jo Hyung Kun was back in action and ready to play the game he so much loves. His return however hasn't been as glamorous as his old fans would have wanted as he hasn't been able to do what for example his new captain has: make it to yet another Starleague. The ACE hasn't been successful which didn't excactly surprise anyone, and Clon's personal record in the Proleague hasn't been any better than the team's record. 9 losses in a row during the 2007 ShinHan ProLeague Round 1 isn't probably the way he had imagined his return, although he has beaten tough opponents in the games in which he came on top, such as TheRock and the newest Starleague champion GGPlay.
By entering the Air Force ACE team Clon has decided to extend his career, which already is long and rocky. For player like him, a player who used to be a dedicated backbone of the team HanbitStars, I would gladly grant another shot in Starleague, to finally be able to prove himself. But ACE evolves as younger and fresher players come to do their military service in Air Force's dedicated gaming team. The newest additions being Oversky (the player Clon managed to beat in his first televised match after his first break) and Daezang, it seems that place in the ProLeague line-up may become too hard of a task for Clon to achieve. Was this just a chance for Jo Hyung Kun to relive his memories or a chance to revive his skills to make it back to proscene for real? That remains to be seen until his mandatory service ends.

PUBBANANA HALP ME
What do you mean by "early" forums?
HAY PUBBANANA :DD
like, before progaming, when top PCBang players would meet and discuss strategies online
yes? or am I going crazy?
I dunno what you're talking about, actually. There wasn't any real distinction between a top player (or a progamer, even) and everyone else back then, so I don't know of any forums where only good players posted.
They sometimes posted on the Game-Q forums, though.
