Nazis in Milton? The only Nazi activity I've experienced in Milton lately has been "Soup Nazi" type activity. When I go to McD's in Miltion I get told by employees exactly where to stand. They have spots on the floor and they are extremely vigilant about what I'm doing when in the restaurant. It kinda reminds me of the "Soup Nazi". For whatever reason, the restaurants in neighbouring places like Mississauga and Etobicoke are not nearly as strict.
I guess this is a case of life imitating art.
Here is the "Soup Nazi".
This is what its like ordering food at Mcdonald's in Milton these days. Just like in the episode shown when I enter I must immediately walk to the right. When exiting the store there is also an exact path I must take. Employees enforce this pretty hard core.

A shadow ban is just hiding a user's posts from everyone else so they don't know they are banned, and everyone else just thinks that person stopped posting. We don't do shadow bans.
Yeah I was just copying Farvacola's usage. On note about different usage of words, the UK has an official shadow cabinet. A shadowy group of people waiting to supplant the current government and pounce into power.

Well, yes, they no doubt want to pounce into power, but given they are members of the opposition, they just don't have hte votes for that. I certainly wouldn't call them shadowy people. They are all out in the open and everything, they just "shadow" the actual government's positions.

I vaguely remember doing that for someone. Do you remember who it was for?

Preemptively noting this post. Someone was quick to the report button trigger because I missed out by about 5 seconds lolol.

And secondly, the thing with modern Germany is that it is trying not to be racist, not pretending to not be racist. I don't know why you are comparing your situation as a (i assume) working canadian expat in germany with a refugee from Syria or Iraq, but you do you.
Edit: And then you keep posting and every post is triggering me again. I am now going to watch Critical Role in the hopes it restores the balance.
Some of them were, but probably not as many as in the United States back then. Germany had no colonies, and there was very little immigration back then. Some Nazis had racial views, like Himmler. Hitler himself did not.
Here is one of Hitler's "talks."
Pride in one’s race – and that does not imply contempt for other races – is also a normal and healthy sentiment. I have never regarded the Chinese or the Japanese as being inferior to ourselves. They belong to ancient civilizations, and I admit freely that their history is superior to our own.
They have the right to be proud of their past, just as we have the right to be proud of the civilization to which we belong. Indeed, I believe the more steadfast the Chinese and the Japanese remain in their pride of race, the easier I shall find it to get on with them.
I just said I shoulnd't reply to you but I cant help myself. You are saying, with a straight face, that Hitler wasn't a racist? Like... in what alternate reality do you live?
First of all you have to define what you mean by race, but yes, I just said that Hitler was not "racist," in the common Anglo-American usage of that word. He at one point even said that the Jews are not really a race.
Hitler was just one of the commonly misunderstood and vilified figures in history, like so many people just demonise Osama Bin Laden. Both terribly understood people.
You can understand what another person is saying, even if you do not agree with it. Many people it seems today have this odd "You vs. Me" mentality.
User was temp banned for this post.
I admit it was hard to understand his point at first, but after going through more of his recent posts I don't find anything I read condemnable. It's not like Xxio who was citing crime statistics to make black people look bad. Moltke was just arguing semantics.
Guess you can say it's a terrible idea to follow "Hitler was not "racist,"" with "Hitler was just one of the commonly misunderstood and vilified figures in history", especially after seeing people have problems understanding your point, but there's no nazi apologism in Moltke's posts. Or at least I didn't see it there. Just being wrong about some facts and being really bad at explaining himself.

too close to full on hitler apologia for my taste, even with all the leniency he may deserve. if you can’t clearly articulate yourself enough to not sound like you’re saying ‘hitler was just misunderstood,’ then maybe not posting is the right call.
