Don't post in this thread to say "gay gamers are like everyone else, why do they have a special thread?" It is something that has been posted numerous times, and this isn't the place for that discussion.

Um, I'm goin' with a friend, but I don't know how big of a room I'm goin' to be gettin' this year (get it free through work) and me and friend are splittin' cost of gas to get there. I think Grav said somethin' about goin' too, but I think he's also goin' with friends. Also in regards to my room, the hotel is about ten minutes from where they held MLG last year (so its a bit of a drive unfortunately compared to the like ninety hotels in walkin' distance).

not sure if welcome or troll.... but for now, I'll just welcome you as well XD
I have never hopped on the JGL train. I honestly don't even find him attractive. He's a great actor though. 3rd Rock from the Sun was one of my favorite shows growing up.
Bump and selfish "haha, I sort of have a life" moment.
Had a date last night with a medical technologist that one of my classmates met, talked to, and introduced me to. Tons of fun; went for food and a couple drinks, and ended up just talking until like 1:30 am. Super fun having enough of a connection to someone that there isn't really any need for something other than talk to fill the time. He was knowledgeable enough about current gay politics that we had quite a decent conversation about that, which was great. Always fun to laugh about how ridiculous legislation is, and how hypocritical a lot of anti-gay people are (George Rekers anyone?). Definitely plan on seeing him again!
TL;DR: had date, no sex, still had great time, will see again.

Haha now I'm just imagining George Rekers as the announcer from the first one, and am finding it delightfully disturbing. "This. One's. FORM-idable!" "It's a one-hit-wonder!"
And of course, the move names. Oh, the move names... ;D I suppose the most fitting of them in his situation would be "Selfdestruct" (or Explosion hahahaha).

In some way this may belong in a thread of its own, but it belongs here first. The entire play "8" is on youtube, and it is a must-see:
"Featuring an all-star cast including George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Martin Sheen, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jane Lynch, Kevin Bacon and others, "8" is a play written by Academy Award winning screenwriter Dustin Lance Black and directed by acclaimed actor and director Rob Reiner. It is a powerful account of the case filed by the American Federation for Equal Rights (AFER ) in the U.S. District Court in 2010 to overturn Proposition 8 [LINK], a constitutional amendment that eliminated the rights of same-sex couples to marry in the state of California. Framed around the trial's historic closing arguments in June 2010, 8 provides an intimate look what unfolded when the issue of same-sex marriage was on trial."

What a fantastic play. Enjoyed watching it a lot. And seeing all these great actors (George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Martin Sheen, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jane Lynch, Kevin Bacon and others) playing on stage, gave me a warm, fuzzy feeling inside. I specifically liked this monologue part here:
"I don't want to draw people's criticism. In fact, quite the opposite. I would really like people to like me. I would. So, since I know I have this trait that I can't change that people don't like, I go to great lengths to develop other traits that people will like. So I put a significant amount of time and energy into being, well, likeable. So that when discriminatory things happen, maybe I can turn it around. The decision every day to come out or not -- at work, at home, at PTA, at music, at soccer -- it's... it's exhausting. If, for example, I'm on a plane and somebody comes up and I saved a seat for Sandy but she's not there yet, and they say, "Is that saved?" And I say, "Yes, it's for my partner." And they say, "Oh, well then could you please move so I could sit there?" Or, if we're at a store, and people wanna know if we're sisters, or cousins, or friends. And I have to decide every day if I wanna come out everywhere I go and take the chance that somebody will have a hostile reaction. Or just go there and buy the microwave we went there to buy without having to go through all that again."
Here's hoping that the eventual Supreme Court decision will be in favor of the motion to legalize same-sex marriages.
