Made me think of BNET 2.0 full of shiny gimmick but missing the essential and a pain in the ass to use.

Yes, because with a design change, the ONLY route is to make everything overly colourful, flashy, and full of gifs. /sarcasm.
OR it could take the route of a design that overall consists of CLEAN, simple visual elements, without retaining it's "old school", web 1.0, web design look and feel that has been replaced in modern times with very good reason.
Is commenting on someone's age really necessary? You're belittling someone by making negative implications about their age in a context that has nothing to do with someone's age (ie the opinion on web design). I am a professional web developer, and personally think that this page is in need of a design overhaul. Are you going to make negative implications about my age because of my opinion on the design as well? I know other web developers who have been very successful in their professional career that share the exact same opinions as myself in TL's design.
