So I've seen QQ-threads, hatethreads, threads about the matchmaking, about terrible allies, feeding, raging flaming, but what about the good moments of dota? Every dota player who played this game for years will have to admit that it's more likely that when you solosearch for a game, you'll get teamed up with egoistic supports, feeding carries and so on, obviously only one hero out of five has to have a bad day to give you a bad impression of the whole match, but that doesn't change anything about the impression the game leaves in you, does it? (And yes, that happens often enough in the v. high bracket too...) So I created this thread so people can remember the sweet moments of dota, this is not about your own glorious survives, your big plays or your godlike streaks.
This thread is dedicated to your moments that really made you appreciate your teammates. We all know the glorious feeling of playing a carry in a solo-matchmaking game, getting nuked down to low hp and suddenly that random support player salves you and lets you stay on the lane and get farmed like that. The feeling when you make a mistake as a carry and think you're dead, but a dazzle shallow graves you, forcestaffs you out and gives his life for you, not blaming you for it afterwards, but telling you that he's happy he could save the carry. The feeling when you offer your carry a bunch of tangos and he refuses, trusting into your heal in critical moments instead and telling you that you will need it more. The memory of the omniknight who saves your ass numerous times throughout the early, repels you in teamfights and makes sure he uses his ulti to save your ass and not his own or the memory of that great treant protector with the necessary mapawareness to help you out whenever you need it while you're up against a trilane.
This is a thread dedicated to the moments in dota that make the game worth playing, but not those that you brought about, but those that were created by your teammates to help you, the carry that actually carries you, or the support that wins you the game from the second row.
TLDNR: post your goddamn bro-stories of dota already
Update: Thank you for everybody who posted in this thread, it's nice to see that people still have fun in that pit of hatred I love so much, I really didn't expect this thread to be succesful.

Last night Let's go for a AP game, I start with a "hey" on the chat, all mates answer, we discute about the drafts, i finally get safelane as slark with Maiden babyssitting me, 54minute game with a lot of action a good play, i get a 5 killing streak and that was awesome. 2 new friends on my steam account.
Sometimes, this is just, great.

A much better thread idea than a brag thread.
Last night playing all random. Start out with Luna but because we already have three other carries so I repick. I end up with naga instead. Not the best but it is fine.
The game is real close and is back and forth. We take an early lead but end up giving it up as es and enigma get their blink daggers. It is looking bad but we pressure their tier 2 not and I initiate with song. Team doesn't run and instead turns to fight. We end up taking it with a 4 for 1 trade (I died but its okay).
From there we end up rolling. I get a blink and after that we don't lose another fight.
For 5 random it was awesome. Bonus points because they paused foe a guy who was having lag issues. Commended everyone on the team after that.

So I meet up with my best friend since childhood, which I haven't seen in two years and recently returned from abroad. He needs to stay a couple of days in town so we decide that it would be awesome if crashes over for good time sakes. We take lunch at this chic turkish restaurant during my work break. I see the waitress, tell him I think she's cute. Than he suddenly tells her what I said and proceeds to do the best wingman/setup I ever witness.
After both my and her work end, we pick her up, hit a couple of drinks and come back all three at my apartment where we light a joint and chill. He leaves us alone, and I proceed to what it turned to be one of my best love making sessions I ever lived.
She falls asleep, and me and him move to kitchen table with our laptops. We started to play Dota. We got crushed in each and every game. About 12 of them. 12 painful games of trying to do your best, sometimes failing, sometimes doing it but for nothing ,since we lost them all. I felt frustration, rage and later tiredness but we kept playing game after game telling ourselves one more, we win and go to sleep. We never did win. And I never went to sleep.
Instead I went directly to work after taking a quick shover. He played one more, alone, fast win, fast sleep.
Now I'm at work tired as hell after trying to win a dota game all night. But in the end... It does not matter, I got laid.

"I wanna jungle can some1 pick an offlane?" Someone actually picks a good offlaner and doesn't feed.
|
Lost all three lanes quite early. Enemy team got insane random luck, (random'd Lina/SD/Spec) and proceed to stomp our safe lane (myself as Nyx and our Void). BH offlane gave first blood to solo Gyro top and mid Tinker died twice to Bane pretty early. Looked pretty one sided. 35 minutes later after some good plays from everyone, we finally can start taking our own fights. 10 minutes later we win.
:D oh yeah before anyone asks, was a jungle Axe. Felt good coming back from such a horrible laning phase.

that reminds me
the other day i was offlaning as drow against a void and earthshaker (2v1). when he hit 6 i dodged his chronosphere by moving down, around the side of it and back up and survived the gank (one of many attempts). later on i got a RAMPAGE midgame (before tier 3s).
yesterday i levelled up my warlock like ive never done before, since opposing team had an AM and didnt want to quit. i went scepter refresher shadowblade (for the lols) then hyperstone mjollnir. dat attack speed

Wow dude! How are you so fucking good? You are insane! How has a pro team not picked you up yet? You gotta be going to TI4 right?
Anyways on topic ... a few days ago I played a couple Compendium matches (the RoxKis vs EG lineup thing). I knew instantly that this was going to be a good game when everyone snatched up the support heroes first. Everyone played their role. There was constant warding and dewarding, smoke ganks, meks and pipes. It was a close game but we were able to eek out the win. I had such a good experience playing in that game that I immediately queued for another Compendium match. Amazingly, my next team was just as cooperative as the first time around. Our opponents though were not as organized and the 2nd game was pretty much a stomp but both games left me feeling great about the game of Dota.

Every single time I jam a Mana void into multiple heroes who have like ~700-900 hp and yell Fuck Magic.
no screw that
every single Mana Void is a good one.

had a bane today who warded intellegently and got off good nightmares and fiend grips
man , it sucks that you have to be happy when people simply do their jobs.

There is no better feeling than having the enemy team kill all your raxes and then your team facerushes the enemy throne, even with glyph up and buybacks. And your team proceeds to five man wipe. But still win because a manta illusion ticks that last 10 hp off the throne. Games like that make the rest of the shitty games worthwhile.

Ugh, the point of this thread is to talk about the moments that have made you appreciate your teammates, not to jerk yourself off...
Yesterday had a Dazzle that saved my ass enough times that it turned a bad to mediocre game on my part into a solid 40-min victory. It's amazing what that hero can do with the right comp.

I played as Jakiro once. We had to defend our mid tier two and I went a little bit too far out. I got nuked pretty hard, and I should have died but Dazzle comes out and is like "sup" and uses shallow grave. That gave me time to get a 4-man icepath into 4-man macropyre. I die but my team cleans up. That ends up being a turning point and we win the game behind our carries who farmed well. I type into allies chat after that team fight "Great grave"
His response? "Yeah I know". I commended him.
I'll never forget you, thug Dazzle.

I actually looked up my recent dazzlematches to check if that was me, though apparently it wasn't Sounds like me though
