I am up 900 or so mmr in the last few weeks. The key, like everyone says, is farming and awareness. The only changes ive made were making sure im farming when not fighting and when im safe, literally playing from the minimap like I'm back playing starcraft. The changes to my gpm and xpm are bonkers. Its like something just clicked. Only took me 2400 games or so to figure that out. 73% winrate this month also. Loving it.

Was playing a KotL (since somebody took my tree I had to random) where I couldn't really do a lot early game. They got a fast shadow blade on shadow fiend so I decided to get a gem since we had a line-up good at pushing as 5. Played so-so after that and we heavily abused the tp to base and recall back to siege them down. Game is over and I check my stats, realise I died 0 times and only undying on our team didn't get a force staff. :D (Also went abyssal since I wanted another item to protect people from lifestealer and glimmer felt boring when I got 5k from the push and team fight. Sadly never got to use it from 500 range from level 25 talent. In last push abyssal melee range was good once.)

Got to make a great underlord play. Tp back to base after two went back to repel Am split push. Am leaves and goes back with his team to go on our two heros bottom. I underlord ult the three of us back, team wipe, game and match.

Playing WD and our mid switches to Drow from OD just before he picks. We're all, what the fuck, we already have to babysit Luna (who he's partied with). Flames ensue, he loses mid to an Omni and dies many many times to ganks that I'm calling out continually (I get the "put wards put wards" when I'm telling them exactly where their Axe/Venge/Pudge are), and I end up flaming my team and putting them all on mute. I just put my head down, follow the carries so they don't die, and eventually we turn around a 3 rax disadvantage. They even started listening to me (well, my pings at least)

Ok, i don't play much, cause work, family etc, and because of this i've never tried to climb the mmr. When i play dota i really just want to have some fun, work stresses me out enough during the day.
But this evening i finally reached 3k solo mmr playing, i'd say, 85% of my games as a pos5 support. i'm so satisfied and happy about this ^^

Made a comeback from megas when our throne was at 400 hp. Defended for 20 mins and won. Checked the replay and saw that SF sold his items to buy moonshards for quest when our throne almost died. Felt so good, that SF must have been so pissed off!

I've had a bizarre run of good games lately. Think I've had around 5 of my last 20 games be the sort of game where you give everyone else on your team a commend and they all commend you back. I've won 14 of my last 20 games, including two 6 game winning streaks.

Just tonight I played a game where the enemy team was definitely winning but my whole team was kind and communicative and joking and we ended up making an awesome comeback and winning at 68 minutes. I don't know how I've pleased Gaben so well, but as they say, the Gaben giveth and he taketh away. I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Had a pretty below average Invoker on my team that I got into a massive flaming battle with as the other team is killing us. Lo and behold, we get paired in the same team again, I'm crushed and looking forward to the -25 MMR, but he picks Rubick and plays one of the best games I've ever seen a support play, smoking around the map ganking and helping make an obscene amount of space for me playing Morphling. We end up crushing that game in 30 minutes and I didn't really have to do anything. Don't flame your teammates for bad games everyone plays bad sometimes, but they can also be really good players just having a rough go.

lost a 75 minute game as rubick against tinker and dusa. we were two rax up at one point.

it was still fun though as nearly came back from a terrible laning stage.
really back and forth game.
stole stone gaze in literally every single fight.
highlight was when an anti-tinker ward spotted the courier buying medusa's rapier and I manged to snipe it as rubick,
letting our storm spirit get rapier (still not sure how lost after that :D)

back in the good old days I would just love dota, win or lose. I would be full of adrenaline, heart racing and happy at the end of every game.

but things went sour. it got to the point where i intensely hated every single loss.and even half my wins.

This was honestly the first dota2 loss Id really enjoyed playing in maybe 1.5 years.
it seems to have been a mental turning point as well, every game since I have been able to ignore all flaming/whinging/bullshit that had been getting to me. I'm enjoying every single game again and it feels amazing :D

I'm happily convinced low priority is actually Dota as Icefrog intended. I got placed in low prio after leaving to ahng once with friends and one game where the servers and my internet combined to get me locked out of a game and got super upset. Since then I've played nothing but hilarious 5 carry games on both teams, and an 85 minute epic. The 85 minute epic was the result of us throwing real hard and then the other team throwing it back and us then throwing it back again like some insane game of catch, but still.

After all these hilarious trolly games and the one epic game, I've had the most fun playing dota in low priority. It's really weird. But like in a good way.

Playing on SEA at 200 ping. Friend from Pakistan told me it was his first time mid Kunkka (he usually goes offlane) and I'm the lowest MMR on the team. Normally I'd be nervous, but I'm on a winstreak. Drafted Warlock after my teammate first-picked FV (because I can amp his damage in chrono and provide secondary stun after chrono and break CM and Pudge Ulti) and I know Tidebringer/Torrent/Boat + FAtal Bonds is strong. Start the game 2-1-2, but notice their abaddon is solo. Having played both Abaddon vs. Void and Void vs. Abaddon, I know that whoever gains the level advantage wins that lane. So I began to harass my enemy with fatal bonds and right clicks. Instead of Aphotic, he skilled his passive before even coming into lane (!) and didn't have an orb of venom (!) and got destroyed by my harrass. Me and Void were both L2 to his L1, but then I noticed that bot had died 3 times to Pudge's L1 30% slow rot. I immediately ran bot lane. Pudge was as good as advertised and clearly was used to bullying scared opponents. Instead, I held my ground, hit him with W, then connected him and CM with fatal bonds. Funniest thing happened...Pudge's Rot + Fatal Bonds got CM killed! I got a double kill. Then I blocked the pull camp, broke CM's clarity, and zoned out LUna. With my L6, we killed her when CM and Pudge went roaming mid. We won all 3 lanes and rolled over the enemy. For once, I played a complete game where my laning, rotations, and ganks were on point. For the past week, I've been feeding, getting crushed in lanes, dying to ganks, and wasting away in LP with heroes I can't play. Now...I'm on a 6 game winning streak and it feels like everything is coming together.
