REDS! buddy, red are so fuckin awesome for gaming. I'd choose reds either way

That keyboard has big debouncing problems so be prepared to continually return them until they give you a keyboard that doesnt have this problem.

Otherwise it's a very good keyboard. Its brown switches have a different feel from the Filco's for example (I have a Celeritas and a brown Majestouch). Less actuation force needed I think. It feels very nice and easy. I'm about to receive my Noppoo Choc Mini with red switches, and I'd venture that Celeritas' browns are closer to reds than Filco's. Maybe I'll confirm that when I get the keyboard. Celeritas' big problem is that fuc*ing space bar though, definitely ;D

Keyswitches of the same type feel roughly the same (I think about a 5g variance can be expected), given the same age.
Noppoo Choc is an excellent SC2 keyboard.

Which one do you belive is superior in quality of them two (MK 50 and Celeritas)?

Very good read.

OHGOD.
So when I got my Rosewill 9000 with Reds today, I was so fucking excited.
Honestly, when I first pushed the keys, it felt weird because I was so used to the feedback from the blues.
Just got done with my first session of SCII with this thing and my god, its amazing to game and type on. It took only a few minutes for me to adjust semi-well to the keys and the lightness of each keypress is amazing. Such a difference.
Totally worth the 100~ usd

Guys---
Anyone shed some light on a Brown switch Tenkey with N-rollover (not needed, but liked) that has a wrist rest. Wrist rest is the selling point here, dont like those tacky belkin soft ones and what not.
I have an Xarmor U9BL or whatever it is with the wrist rest but its garbage. I've had two keys fail me now in 4 months.
Thanks guys!

Is there a reason, why there's no mention of a Cherry G81-3000? I've seen it listed as a mechanical keyboard and it's only about 30 EUR. Plus, it's a Cherry, so it probably would pwn every gaming brand in build quality.

Topre Realforce 33-40-45-55g varying force(or whatever it's called) first impressions:
Typing on this is incredibly comfortable! It's actually amazing how light the keys you press with your pinky are, and they don't strain you at all. Even after typing on this computer for many many hours today, none of my fingers are tired at all, which used to happen just about ever.
There's been some complaints about this keyboard being kind of quiet in comparison to some mechanical keyboards and that it doesn't quite have the same mechanical feel, but I'm going to have to disagree completely, The keys are relatively loud and they sound really nice in my opinion, especially the enter and the backspace have the kind of a "thock" sound that I absolutely love.
The build quality is just amazing and I'm kind of stunned at it to be honest. The space bar is super solid, none of the keys are wobbly at all, this black keyboard looks sexy as hell, and so on. Pressing the very edge of the space bar still makes the entire spacebar lower itself evenly and it feels completely smooth all the way through, just like every other key does.
The switches themselves feel really nice, and they have some tactile feel, though it's not as present as in the brown switches(I've just tried those in store at once so might not be the most accurate analysis). I feel like its possible to type pretty well without bottoming out and it feels really comfortable and natural doing so, all you need to do is have a slightly lighter touch. Especially the 33g pinky keys are really easy to press and all you need is a light tap, it makes it a lot easier to control your power if you want to type without bottoming out.
The keycaps feel amazing and are actually the best-feeling keycaps I've ever tried. It's pretty difficult to describe it but they feel a bit... rough in a way.. meh whatever, but still they feel really nice! Also, the keys are set up so that it's kind of ergonomic, for instance the top of the keycaps of the bottom row are facing straight up and in the second row they are facing a little bit more forward, I'm guessing that this is so that it feels smoother or whatever and it sure works o_O Best explanation skills I have... But the texture is very unique and I have never seen a keyboard have the keycaps shaped quite like this, so it's something special definitely in my opinion, and this also means that you can't switch the keycaps around or replace them as every single keycap is designed for specifically that position.
The actuation point is actually before even the halfway point and hence you can really speed up your typing by not bottoming out the keys while typing. There's absolutely no bouncing and everything feels incredibly solid and sturdy(have I mentioned this build quality is amazing?)
I guess I typed way too much about this and most of it doesn't even make sense, and to be honest this was all just an evil ploy for me to be able to type something random with this keyboard because it just feels so incredibly nice! Even this sentence I'm typing only for the purpose of being able to type some more with this keyboard that feels amazing.
For starcraft I'd say that this keyboard is good but there's some problems I guess, the ergonomic layout of the keycaps feels slightly strange in the beginning as you're not having your fingers like they normally are and so some keys feel slightly out of place or to be of a strange shape, also it might be a bit confusing that some keys are easier to press than the others. It doesn't bother me though and it just took a few games to get used to it and now it already feels way better for gaming than my last keyboard as well, but I just thought I would mention that in case someone was interested.
Wow that was a ton of fun typing ^-^ I'll do a full review sometime after I clean my desk so that I can take pictures without completely embarrassing myself, but this is the best purchase I've ever made and I have a feeling that it's going to last me many many many years as I can't imagine a keyboard like this possibly breaking anytime soon.
So my sneak peek verdict: Absolutely recommended buy, the only thing that should be stopping you is the price.
(This took me like 6-7 minutes to type, what's my WPM?)

And they're PCB mounted, making them lighter than plate-mounted keyboards which makes them feel cheaper and flimsier.
|
I also can't find anywhere what switches those cherries use, but yeah they are incredibly boring looking but if they do have the cherry switches then they indeed should be worth trying and would probably be a completely viable budget option for a mechanical keyboard!

ahh I can't decide red or brown?! cannot find them in stores eaither to try out
|
I thought in sweden as well as in finland you are entitled to ordering items, testing them, and returning them if you don't like them? So you could order both, test both, and return the one you don't like.
|
If he's ordering from Sweden than I think that's the case yes. Might have to pay for shipping or something like that though.
|
Does anyone know how I could order a Rosewill with red switches without having to pay an enormous amount of 60 dollars to shipping (I live in the netherlands). I don't like gamer edition keyboards and the only ones that remain is a Steelseries wich has blacks and Zowie Celeritas, but I heard the rebouncing problem and I've been wasting my time enough already on RMA'ing....
|
Just ordered a choc mini with MX brown, can't wait until it arrives!!! Plus, it will be my first mechanical keyboard experience I hope it is worth the price!
|
Anyone knows a keyboard that has options for incresing key repeat ratio? Except for the Zowie Celeritas.
|
Is there any chance to find EU shippin for Rosewill rk-9000. I can only find it on Amazon.com and shipping from US to Poland is ridiculously high. I would buy the RK9000 right away if there had been EU shippin...
