Reds are considerably the lighter of the two. Reds have been considered obsolete but I guess ur one of the few that prefer them. And actually, many prefer typeing on Blacks as well. It's all a matter of preference. Cool it brohan. The TT Meka G1 has one as well. Black is said to be a switch that are for fps and not rts because of the stiffness. A lot of asians love red switches, they have the characteristics of blues that is good for both gaming and typing but also isn't too light. It's hard to explain but the reasoning is similar to brown switches over black switches. (hoping to find a cheap red switch ducky sometimes later, it was surprisingly good but they ran out of stock) Most people would choose others over black for typing, it does cause the most fatigue for typing afterall.

What kind of switches are the best for spamming? what. there is no such keyboard designed for spamming keys on a video game. please. if anything, blue switches are probably the easiest to spam on. but your question is silly.

Reds actuate extremely easily. It's actually kind of annoying for me.

Mechanical keyboards are also all the same size, standard. They all use the same kinds of switches, which means they're only the same size. If you're moving from non-mechanical, you'll get used to it in a week easily. Rubber domes are more easily manipulated so you can have non-standard sizes. Having those sizes on mechanicals would make them very wobbly. You see this effect a bit with a lower quality mechanical keyboard's enter key. You can just buy a wristrest if you need one, which easily transfers over to other keyboards. Your only other option would be the SteelSeries 7G, which has a hard wrist rest only for it. The 7G has the linear Cherry MX Blacks, which aren't the best for typing though. Actually, I found this review which illustrates what I mean about key size differences: As you can see, when the boards are lined up, if you assume the right side of the enter keys on both boards are lined up (and aside from millimetre differences, they are), then follow them along to the left towards the QAZ keys, you can see the blackwidow ends way sooner than the 6GV2 to allow space for the stupid macro keys. Thus, the keys on the blackwidow are simply smaller. This was why I was not typing correctly when I used my friend's blackwidow; my muscle memory was telling me the keys were in a certain place, but my fingers were not finding the right keys when typing. That's a relatively important issue for me when dropping $100 + on a keyboard. I'd like to know these things before I buy as there arent many offline stores in Aus that actually sell mechanical keyboards for me to go try...

Maybe reds? I haven't tried them before though. PCCG have leopolds in reds, if you decide red is the way to go. Also I have to share this: http://www.auspcmarket.com.au/info/KE-FKBN104M-EMU2/1838/ Filco, now in multicam. For all your tactical typing deployments.

The chinese words are 段落感 (which is like the paragraph sense?). We don't actually use a lot of statistics to describe how one switch feels. We use a lot more personal experience instead. Like we say Blue switch's sound is crisp, clean while brown is more gentle and dull. We say brown feels a bit more soft while blue feels lighter We say blue has the strongest paragraph sense and also the mechanical sense (now I don't know how to translate that into english). I know quite a lot of brown switch users actually prefer blue but only using brown because it is too loud. just a reference that I found when browsing forums: http://bbs.plu.cn/archiver/?tid-1691276.html it is very well-known that asians love blue/brown in comparison to black switch that foreigners love. Ask any chinese/taiwan/hong kong forums about it, I can even give you a few references lol. Asians also LOVE red, you have no idea. It is rare and everyone are after it (also it is priced slightly higher, which is why I didn't get the red switch in the first place) I will just post another reference http://www.techbang.com.tw/posts/5205-filco-majestouch-n-key-keyboard-red-axis-104key-evaluation "而紅軸剛好可以解決重手的問題,同時也可以維持沒有段落的手感。" "red switch fixes the problem of fatigue of the black switch while keeping the non-paragraph sense that black switch users like"

I tried them both very quickly but the main difference I felt was that the Blackwidow was easier to press down and required less force, but the 6Gv2 was way more silent. I guess it's all about personal preferences, so make sure to test them out. Cheers
