I clicked on 'add to cart', a wild popup window appeared and I have no idea what it says :\

How much of an issue/dealbreaker is the problem of unintended double-clicks when using blue switches? It could have some pretty bad consequences in a game of Starcraft.

unintended double-clicks? Ive never had that problem. It is sometimes hard to doubletap because of different reset and actuation points. But that has never been a problem for me in SC2 because you hit the keys so quickly and often.

It could have some pretty bad consequences in a game of Starcraft. Unintended double clicks are basically impossible, I think. When pressing the key, at the point where the tactile "bump" is, a part inside the blue switch falls off, and then the switch activates. This part that falls off, snaps back into place when the key goes back up, and the switch deactivates. Your finger has to nearly completely let go of the key for that to happen. It is not possible to hold the key in place at the height where the activation point is, and then do multiple clicks by mistake.
EDIT: Found an animation about that with Google:

Because I've read complaints from several people about the blue switches sometimes activating two times per keystroke, and that it "takes some time getting used to". Haven't tried them myself so that's why I'm wondering.

I have that problem with my brown. Especially with my space bar. Sometimes I just press it twice for some reason :/ really annoying.

That did happen once with my filco, but I pulled the offending keycap off and then put it back in and the problem was solved. Hasn't happened for ages though, I think the keycap wasn't fit quite right on delivery.
So I don't think its a problem, at least with Filco's in my experience.

I used to have a blackwdow, but I hated the smaller keys. I'm now using the Zowie Celeritas. This keyboard is awesome for typing and gaming, but the spacebar feels sticky compared to the tactile feel of the rest of the keys. also the keys fade quickly, which isn't too bad but annoying nonetheless. The BlackWidow I would put as a bottom tier keyboard and the Celeritas as a mid tier. Happy hunting!

"The two black things that look like switches and the springy thing that connects them are called a Stabilizer. Their purpose is to "stabilize" the key and every keyboard has them on various keys like Enter, spacebar, shift and backspace.
So for example, if you took the stabilizer out completely, that'd fix your issue, but when you hit it too much from the right, it would go down too much/too fast on the right, likewise on the left. You could then resolve that by replacing your spacebar with some other key, like a right shift (which is about the size of space bar keys on japanese layouts)."

I had one with blues and this would happen to me, so i bought one with blacks and it never happend since prefer the blacks alot more. i guess its personal preference but blacks just feel better with starcraft for me.

For those looking for the same keyboard outside of Korea, it's branded as the XArmor U9BL-S in the US.

I've been using my Filco Majestouch w/ browns for over a year now and still absolutely love it! Recently though, a friend of mine (after extended use of my keyboard) ordered a new Leopold with reds from EK. I've fallen in love with it since using it a few times. Because my board has browns and I've used it for so long, I've gotten used to the actuation point. Now when I use his for SC2 the non-tactile keystroke feels like typing on air.
So a week goes by with me seriously considering buying a new board with the reds. I've waited a week or so now and I'm glad I did! Someone posted in one of the mech keyboard threads that EK was soon to be selling the tenkeyless version with reds! Now I've got this purrty new board ready to be shipped on the 23rd when they actually go on sale! http://www.elitekeyboards.com/products.php?sub=leopold,tenkeyless&pid=fc200rraw And it's WHITE!! :D
I can't wait for the tenkeyless, it's what I wanted when I originally ordered my filco, but they were out of stock on them in browns and said eta on new ones was 2 weeks. So I was impatient and ended up getting the full-sized board. Though, now in retrospect I'm now glad I did it (programming major, so I use the numpad quite a bit)! Starting to get a little keyboard collection going.
Anyway, I'm just really excited and wanted to share I guess, ha! Also for anyone still unawares EliteKeyboards is now having a pre-sale on the Leopold tenkeyless in reds and limited time CLEAR(!!) switches. Awesome deals for a top tier keyboard! http://www.elitekeyboards.com/products.php?sub=leopold,tenkeyless
|
^yeah for the record tenkeyless reds are on sale, as are tenkeyless clears (no fullsize clears though), and all the other switch types now also come in white (tenkeyless only as well)! Really tempted to get a white tenkeyless red, so I can match it with my black tenkeyless and checkerboard both keyboards, but I really can't afford to spend the money right now lol.

Borrow the money, checker the keyboards and then sell one of them.

2 days ago I finally received my Ducky DK9008G2 Cherry MX Brown ABS it took exactly 2 weeks to arrive from taiwan
and so far I've been loving it, it's a really good quality keyboard. I just have to get used to it a little bit still (have always been typing on rubberdome)
I got it from the taiwan site pchome this is the one: http://global.pchome.com.tw/?mod=item&func=exhibit&IT_NO=DCAH0X-A55917232&c=A05&tm=u
it cost me about 95 euros including 20 dollar shipping and paypal currency exchange rates although if you're in europe, be prepared to get screwed by customs, I had to pay another 18 euros in taxes and for some reason another 17 euro for customs which brought it to 130 euro total. kinda sad since the keyboard itself is only about 80 but oh well...
it has been out of stock at tankguys for ages and shipping it to europe would cost 40 dollars anyways (110 original), and I'm not sure if you have to pay taxes then again aswell because you still ship it from outside europe...
here's a guide how to order something from the taiwanese site pchome on geekhack: http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?12854-PChome-(Taiwan)-20-Worldwide-Shipping-Promo
it would also ofcourse help a lot if you use google chrome as your browser, since you can then translate most of the site and make it actually decentally readable
if you do order from pchome, make sure you select the right version (chinese/english)

But I actually want both keyboards lol...I have browns right now and I think I want either reds or blacks cause I want a linear switch type as well. I've tried out blacks and liked them, but I'm not sure if I want the lighter feel of the reds as well...

I think it would be awesome if someone managed to do a flat-key style mechanical keyboard, like what the Lycosa is. Does anyone know if something like that exists? If not, I'll probably end up springing for a Das Ultimate.
