Oh we love the second to last guy on the right as well. I find it amusing that you post this on the day that MarineKingPrime (orange hair guy) wins his GSL Ro32 match. Coincidence?

How do you guys ever read these 222 page threads?
You'd have to be a Wizard to find anything!

Talk about minimal. That's less than a 60% keyboard even..

Just got my ducky shine ii - purple led's and blue switches. (I got the tenkeyless - as it was slightly cheaper, in stock, and appeals to my minimalist nature).
Man this thing types like a dream. Not only can the leds become incredibly bright, which I love and is one of the reasons I bought the keyboard. I figured if I was going to spend the money, might as well go all out and get the keyboard that is beautiful as well as functional. And the ducky shine is just that.
I also recently got the steelseries sensei (which I love). And set the colored light to match my keyboard.
(I wanted to stay away from Razer products because they have a reputation of breaking down.)
Waiting for the ducky shine ii to come into stock was well worth the wait. And I am one super happy camper.

For anyone wondering how that HHKB keyboard works, regarding arrow keys, etc., I looked it up: http://www.pfu.fujitsu.com/hhkeyboard/leaflet/hairetu.html#pro2
The first diagram are the different configurations for the keys around the space bar, and can be set up with dip switches on the keyboard. The diagrams with the coloring showing arrow keys etc., is how the keyboard layout looks while holding down the "Fn" key.

Join the Ducky Shine 2 club =) I personally like my full-sized keyboard over TKL. There's just more back lighting to love lol. Although hearing that the sensei can have custom colors now questions whether I should sell my Razer DA.... oh well

I am looking for a full sized mechanical keyboard with 10 key (standard button layout for typing) I want it to be silent to reduce GF agro, would like it backlit blue if possible (I can go w/o it being backlit if need be, would just be a cosmetic thing to have it) (will match my case, speaker, and monitor LEDS) around 100 dollars can go up to 150 area IF I HAVE TO. Any helpful hints and suggestions. I have never owned a Mechanical keyboard before, and am kind of overwhelmed at all the information I have been finding when I look at keyboards.

Blackwidow stealth? I'm not a big fan of razor products but it's the only one I know that's relatively quiet. You can always just get a backlit blue one and put in o-ring silencers but I'm not sure how much quieter that makes your board.

I tried to order the Stealth and they were out of stock. I don't know when/if they'll get more in and I've heard a lot of bad things about razor, and the only reason i really believe them is because I got the deathadder and after 5 months of using it, the scroll wheel broke. It has never been dropped or had anything spilled on it or been damaged in any way. The keyboard doesn't have to be backlit, it's just a cosmetic feature i'd enjoy but dont need

The keyboard doesn't have to be backlit, it's just a cosmetic feature i'd enjoy but dont need The Razer "Stealth" is a gimmick. All it is are brown switches, which are quieter than the blue switches on the BWU, but definitely not silent to any extent. If you're looking for a quiet, mechanical keyboard then look into adding o-rings into any switch type you use. I have keyboards with both o-rings on blue and brown switches and they're pretty quiet compared to when they don't have o-rings. Reds are probably quieter, but I've personally never owned one so I can't really confirm that. As for which keyboard, I can't really point you to any good backlit, full-sized mechanical keyboards. Most of the quality mechanical keyboards are ten-key-less nowadays. The only one I can think of right now with my lack of sleep is the Leopold.
CM continues to impress me. It's days like these I'm glad I'm a CM fanboy lol.

I only wish there was as much modification available for topre keyboards as there is for cherry switches :$
|
Don't know if this has been mentioned yet: Matias Quiet Pro It's supposedly a new (non-cherry) switch type. Does anyone have any experience with this and know how it compares to more known switches? In the review I linked they don't make any comparisons, as it is a site that doesn't normally review mechanical keyboards.

Someone care to explain what the cherry greens are like? Haven't come across those at all.
|
According to the internet, they're stiffer blues.

About the greens, my Cherry G80-3000 keyboard with blue switches has a single green switch for the space bar, and that makes my thumb get a bit numb in situations where I use the space bar a lot (there are games where I put something on the space bar and spam that a lot). This does not happen with my keyboard with brown switches. So in my opinion, it's more than just "a bit stiffer" as that little bit adds up over time for me.
Technically, the green switch's insides make the same click as blue switches, but the spring is quite a bit stiffer. It's the same difference as red switches compared to black switches. Blue switches have the same spring as red switches, and green switches have the same spring as a black switch.
