For other games, like WoW (which loads textures on the fly), it can be a genuine, though small, benefit. Also, some people like putting RPGs with a lot of loading screens on them.
Given SSD prices, I'd recommend looking at 128gb, large enough for any program you use often. Doesn't an ssd help reduce hanging in SC2 when adding textures to the cache?

Is there anywhere I can download SC2Switcher.exe? For some reason, I lack the file.

Maybe if there's something new in the 1.5 patch. Otherwise the effect would be minimal at best.

It's the MEKA G1 PRIME Team edition, with the specs being picked by MKP specifically. Will be available in the next 1-2 months.

Will my iMac late 2009 work in Target Display Mode if the video signal is supplied by a windows pc using a graphics card with display port? I know it SHOULD work, but has anyone acutally done this?

People certainly have used old iMacs as monitors. Just read Apple's documentation for the feature

I have no idea if I should post here... I am a random player but I hate the sound when protoss buildings are starting to warp, is there a way to reduce a ton that very only sound, or to replace it by another sound? Thank you

Shouldn't I be able to stream 720 60fps on ffsplit with this pc?
i7 2600 GTX 560 ti asrock h77 4gb ddr3 ram 25down 4.5 up
2000 encoding bitrate 128 audio bitrate
Whenever I try to stream anything above 45fps It's really stuttery on the viewer side. However when Im playing it feels like im not even streaming which is weird.

Basically, no. You'll have bad slowdowns every time there's a sizeable battle. AMD APUs simply can't stand up to rigorous SC2 use.

Yes, it does. I am doing it right now. You will need to get a displayport to mini display port cable. I don't think you can use any adapters either, I tried and that didn't work. I'm using a Gigabyte 6850 as my GPU
A few things about the process: #1: To enter target display mode, press apple+f2 on the apple keyboard. Also, if you plug int he display while your iMac and your PC are running, it should also auto switch #2: You can control brightness from your apple keyboard ONLY if you are running Lion or higher. I was using snow leopard for a while and it didn't work #3: You can't do it from a windows partition. You need to be in Mac OSX. #4: I'd reccomend closing your iMac programs and turning off the Wifi. Your iMac will still be running in the background.

Hmm, that means I should buy the i5 then?

I have a question
I think my PSU just went all nasty, and I need a new one. I bought my PSU at microcenter, and it was an inland 650W PSU. It served me well until the day it died. I know inland is the "micro center" brand, but I didn't know any better at the time.
So I need to get a new PSU. I understand most of the specs of CPUs, GPUs, Mobos, RAM, ect., but I don't understand how to pick a PSU beyond wattage.
My specs are this Motherboard: Asus P8-Z77 V CPU: i5-3570k (would like to allow head room to OC) GPU: Radeon 6850 (would like to allow room to OC and possibly crossfire) RAM: 8GB Patriot Sector 5 1600 Mhz HDD: I have a mechanical drive and an SSD, I want to get another mechanical drive down the road
I have 8 fans in the rig, including 2 on the heatsink.
What kind of PSU would I need to have this rig function well? I do plan on OCing and possibly crossfire (but I'm not going to crossfire two stupid high powered cards, probably just two 6850s)

Over the last 2 days or so my monitor has been having issues with streams. It's like the issues that happen sometimes on the streamer's end, but it's happening pretty consistently over the last few days, and it was only happening once in a while before. The only two things that I can think that could have caused the change is 1)a mid-90's stereo receiver I bought a few days ago. I don't think this is the cause because when I turn the receiver off and put the monitor about a foot away the problem doesn't go away. The other possibility is that I just updated the driver for my video card a few days ago. I don't feel very confident this is the cause though because the video is fine in games or just displaying whatever is on the screen. The problem only happens with streams. Any ideas?

The problem is all software. If it only happens in streams, then its drivers or the stream is really shitty all of a sudden.

... I tried watching on another browser (chrome) and it worked fine, so I reinstalled flash, restarted firefox, and the streams were still messed up. Any ideas why? I guess I could just browse only on chrome, but it seems like a pretty weak "solution" :D Edit: reinstalled Firefox too now and still it doesn't work.
