Also, another question unrelated to my mobo, I have a corsair 500R case with a bottom mounted PSU with a sort of mesh grille on the very bottom on the case, the case itself has short feet on the bottom to keep it elevated like 2cm off the ground. Am I supposed to have the PSU's exhaust fan pointing up (into the case) or down (going out the bottom)?

You should have your PSU fan pointing down.

Hi, I just bought a Droid 4. Should I root/flash my phone? I had a droid 2 and that was a while back, and I was putting different roms on all the time, I rooted it, etc. The major reason I rooted it was to overclock it, but because of the single core, and heat issues, I didn't really find it worthwhile, and I started to have performance issues from flashing too many roms (could have just reverted it back to stock, but i was just playing around so much on it). But nowadays, a lot of the reasons to root/rom it are gone, right? Things like multi-touch, pinching, etc are on stock, tethering, etc.

http://lv.twitch.tv/dreamhacktv/b/332247133 I'm at 1 hour 40 minutes, still lags every 5 sec. On 480p the sound is weird/non existent.

If you choose to do a fresh installation, you can select to format only the drive you wish to install Windows on, the rest of the drives will be left untouched. You should have your PSU fan pointing down. Am I going to have to reinstall any drivers when I put in the replacement mobo?

Hoping to spend less than $500 or so per computer (gonna just get one computer probably, but if there's a good enough deal I will snag them two), just want to get them fast computers that can perform simple tasks like internet browsing, watching videos, and editing photos and uploading them and stuff.

You get rid of the bloatware, increase battery life, increase performance, and are on the forefront of updates. Well increasing battery life and performance aren't because of rooting, rooting will only allow for get ridding of bloatware (of what you listed). And updates, what do you mean exactly? I don't recall getting OTA updates when using a custom ROM. And you are only getting updates for custom roms, you dont exactly get quicker updates on stock ics.

One of the points of flashing a custom ROM is so you don't have to wait months for the carrier / manufacturer to push OTA updates. There was a six month gap between the first Galaxy S2 ICS ROMs and the American / Canadian carrier's ICS OTA update.

Your CPU will use more power and produce more heat if you overclock. The mobo isn't really affected. The increased power requirement from the CPU may stress the voltage transformers on the motherboard a bit more, but this should be well within their capabilities.

The higher power draw causes higher temperatures for the CPU as well as the voltage regulators, and more current passes through. All these increase the stress. i5-2500k to 4 GHz is so close to spec that there's hardly any additional stress, certainly way below what the motherboard can handle on pretty much everything that allows overclocking. It's not exact, especially considering that temperature is not constant, but the increase in frequency should very roughly be proportional to the increase in power.

Diablo III for some reason caps at 50 FPS sometimes with its in game FPS limiter on. When I remove it (disable max FPS limit), the FPS stays at 60 FPS (with v sync on; with it off, the game runs at 150+ FPS even in the menu). Does v sync work the same way as FPS limits in games like D3? It won't cause the card to be overwork and potentially overheat (like running 150+ FPS just in the menu)? Also same with minimizing the game, will v sync keep the FPS limited even while minimized? Thanks in advance for help!

You shouldn't worry about the processors if they aren't playing games. Any duo or quad core processor will be sufficient enough for them. Consider laptops since gaming components aren't an issue. - An FX-4100 processor is considered "shit" compared to whats out there but it's still a 7.2 on the WEI and goes for less than $100 now. - Check slickdeals.net and walmart.com

A matter of what processor he gets for such simple tasks means little. Going with an FX-4100 CPU is overkill for such minimal work in my opinion. Although if they are considering to do many tasks at once then it's justified. However, you could look into getting even cheaper CPUs like the Intel Pentium instead.
