I find it appalling how so many underestimate the human brains ability to adapt, and adapt quickly. Just because you've used it for X amount of years doesn't mean it won't take less than a day to adapt to a new keyboard. Give it a day or two and you're back to your old form, and possibly even better since the new keyboard is supposed to be better than the old one.

But given that the SC2 guys, a lot of them at least are BW guys, and that they are changing, is it because they changed keyboards during the change from BW--->SC2. Though if you watch the GSL, a lot of BW guys still use the DT-35. (NaDa, MKP for example). if you watch the progaming house tour videos by artosis, you'd see that at least 50% of the people are still using dt-35s. There's a lot of hype around mechanical keyboards imo. Keyboards are just keyboards - if they're made half decent, I find them to be mostly on the same levels of quality.

What makes DT-35's so popular amongst korean gamers? Is it just because that they are used to it when they transitioned over from BW?

Come on, the QSenn isnt bad but you will get just as functional a keyboard if you just buy a super standard microsoft keyboard (well, I dunno what the current iteration of their bog standard keyboard looks like, but used to be you could get a good one).

Before trying out a mechanical keyboard, I used a dirt cheap Dell SK-8115 for around 3 years before hundreds of hours of BF2 caught up to it and 4 keys died. Ooh, I just found them online. 25 keyboards for 80 bucks.

Haven't used any other keyboard though.

I believe the the cheapest you can get a DT-35 for in the United States is $35+sh whereas the BW is like $70+sh (or $50+sh or $60 if Newegg or Fry's ever gets that deal again). If that is the case, then I highly suggest the BW, as the DT-35 can be bought for like $15 (I'ze seenz it with my own eyes!) on Taobao so you are getting much more value out of your money. If not, then I would recommend go DT-35 or go Filco/Das/Rosewill/Leopold. One of the reasons why the DT-35 is so prized is because it is completely solid. BW? Not so much, with the macro keys, shifted function keys (seriously, who the HELL thought that was a good idea?), and the batches of keyboard that didn't turn out so well with multiple key presses. If you can get a DT-35 for a reasonable price (and I love StarCraft Mecca, but $35 is NOT a reasonable price for the keyboard), then I would go DT-35. If you absolutely love the mechanical aspect of the BW, then I'd say go for something better than a BW. You won't regret going the extra mile one bit, and you can laugh at the minority of BW users who absolutely regret getting it.

You can kill a bear with a stick, but i wouldn't advise trying it. But for an analogy on topic, I think some of them also used ball mice which i don't think anyone will touch for competitive play now days. A lot of people stick with what they are used to despite being inferior because they are used to it. Swapping a mouse takes awhile to get used to for instance. Keyboards are too, to a lesser extent.

I was looking for more of a review that would compare it to the qsenn. In the end I just went "screw it, im getting the blackwidow".
