(about what i get and pay for and its during peak time too so yeah no complaints im paying for 20mbs dl speed. dont remember what my paid for upload speed is)
The only reason I said video card is because im running the intel GMA HD on my laptop and its really not anything great for gaming (even though i can run sc2 on varied low and medium options. ^^ and I have 4 gigs of DDR3RAM with a 2.5 i5 processer

I've read your posts about this problem and it seemed to parallel my own experiences. I have an i7 920 with 6gb of dominator RAM and a fast 1TB HDD. The real problem turned out to be what FMLE was processing. The Ustream window is relatively small... what, 320? 360 width? It's not very big, but if you've followed the instructions in this and similar threads, your output is in 1920x1080 or 1680x1050 or something extremely large, much larger than you can see on the Ustream page. That means there's no harm in shrinking the capture size.
What I did to solve the choppiness problem was configure FMLE to cut the width and the height in half (so, from 1680x1050 to 840x574 on the Output Size fields), essentially reducing the required processing power by 75%. My framerate skyrocketed and there was no loss of quality on the stream page. Maybe this will work for you, too. Good luck!

FME is starting to cause me issues ustream seems to think its disconnecting every 3 seconds and FME seems to be running fine.

I actually have tried cutting the output to half as you did, but I'll give it another go, should i leave the VP6 (s'cuse me if thats not what its called) all to what they were or try H.2?? and leave to standard or should I try to tweak with those too?

For those that have trouble getting both microphone (usually USB) and game sounds to output to FME, check out Virtual Audio Cable:
http://download.cnet.com/Virtual-Audio-Cable/3000-2168_4-10067766.html
The free portion of this software is the "Audio Repeater" that allows you to basically take any device input (like a USB mic) and re-send it to your sound card's output (speakers/headphones), which should already contain your game sounds. This way, you have a single audio source that you can use in FME.
Hope that helps.

quick question
i got everything up and running thanks to this, ty vm
but I cant get my stream to pick up my microphone. which is a logitech webcam with microphone built in. it doesnt come up when I click the red speaker for realtek and such. also this isn't mentioned in either this tutorial or the other one that was linked
any tips on getting the logitech mic to work? i've been tinkering with settings to no avail.

Is there a way to directly stream pre encoded content to ustream without reencoding it?
|
So, I don't know if this has been mentioned elsewhere but I couldn't find it.
I've got a huge issue with BW streaming - that is, the colors. I'm running windows 7 so it's expected that the colors will be off some, but not like they are the in stream (units, creep, terrain, etc are unidentifiable and rainbow colors abound). Any fixes?

I got everything up and running fine, but I'm having trouble setting up my video capture. For some reason, whatever setting I do, the screen is zoomed in around my mouse and simply follows it. I don't know how I'm supposed to capture my full screen. The preview in the FMLE says its the fullscreen, but when I stream, it's not.

Issorlol -- I know the streamers have to use a program ontop of everything else that captures the OLD graphics of Starcraft BW. I don't know what the program is called but I know that is the fix. It's called handycam or something along those lines....

Ghen! (or whoever) I have a good one for you guys: How do i stream Starcraft 2 (or any game for that matter) with USTREAM capturing video and audio from mic and PC WITHOUT un-muting the playback of your Mic? OR Using Virtual Audio Cable (this Solution is garbage...)
There HAS to be a way -- I do not want to hear myself in my headphones when I'm playing my game and talking at the same time....that's just annoying! I tried asking Day[9]...but lets face it -- I'm just another shmuck fan...he's never gonna respond.
PLEASE DO NOT SAY: "just use procaster" -- I really want to figure this out without unmuting the mic.
Is there a way to do this using an external mixer? A Capture card? If so...what is the correct setup? I would like to know how: Orb or GLHF has their setup.

Ahh that's interesting. I actually prefer hearing myself in my headphones so I don't get overly loud. I know that what I hear in my headphones is exactly what you can hear on the stream so it keeps my volume in check.

see....when i hear myself...i HEAR myself.... and then i stop talking.
I would like to know what people do to overcome this -- there HAS to be a way.

So -- I found out how to get your MIC and in-game sound working at the same time without hearing your voice.
It's expensive -- but probably required for the serious streamers.
excuse my crappy paint skillz

**EDIT** A USB input driver is installed on your computer which you use for the USTREAM input. **/EDIT**

Ok I'm stumped.
Every time I click "Allow" for it to have access to my camera and microphone, my browser crashes. I've tried it with FMLE already open, FMLE closed. On justin.tv, on ustream. In Firefox, in IE. With it accessing my capture card, with it accessing my webcam.
I have no idea what's going on. Any suggestions?

i tried the beta version of Flash and it worked after that -- I was having the same issue

I have a question about the image overlay. I was thinking about that and instead of having an image as an over lay is there a way of having a live web cam as the overlay?
There is probably a application out there that can do it, i don't seem to be able to find anything..
