The Zerg is a hivemind - and they were meant to be insect-like from the beginning.

The Zerg is a hivemind - and they were meant to be insect-like from the beginning. the Zerg MUTATES their units from other living things by acquiring and modifying their DNA. I dont think a random elephant being infected should turn to an insect at all. Or grow wings for that matter.

And the way the zerg works is they take say a frog's ability to jump and cross it with say a cougar's cunning and top it off with some sea creature's spines, etc etc. They breed the best species for the task, which is why zerg should have the most changes out of all the races since they are constantly evolving. Zerg are sort of like a cross between 'The Thing' (movie) and 'Borg'(startrek).

![]() If I had any gripes I'd say the teeth would be a bit smaller since it doesn't look like it would make the sound we're familiar with and the nails/claws seem like it would look more aggressive and brutal if they were more curved. But that is really just splitting hairs as we wouldn't really be able to see any of these smaller details in the game given how small they are in game. You get the overall idea though.
