Thats one person, I generally think we should have more experienced composers make music for Sc2 if we want the game to have the epic feeling, thats just my opinion. The music composers that did the songs for warcraft and some of the songs for starcraft were npt really that well known, or as well experienced.
Diffrent music composer please

The music for WarCraft, WarCraft II and the Terran music for SC is absolutely outstanding. Especially War II is one of the best game musics like... ever. So, more respect please. -Mynock

I honestly would like to hear shit as crazy as possible. SC and BW have really interesting scores, very recognizable. It would be too easy to just have the typical overdone sci-fi score stuff like in the trailers. I have no doubts that is the kind of music it will have but there is a reason why when I play a game like Street Fighter 2 I still love the music, 15+ years later. SC similarly has memorable tunage, whereas I cant think of a single piece of music in WC3 or WoW or Diablo(Except the intro music) or anything Soule has done. And imo Jeremy Soule is fine and all but honestly dude aint very interesting or dynamic, he just writes ok "samey" type of stuff. IWD was prob his best work to me, and people really need to get over using "epic" to describe every fucking thing under the sun lately.

I am sure the SC2 music will be good, maybe not great, but most people probably listen to their own music anyways so who really cares?

Apparently the music for war3 wasn't really what you described and it was worse them "samey".

By contrast, games like War2, SC, War3 need more dramatic and intense music, which they have. Personally I prefer this sort of music better than the orchestral stuff. War3 most definitely has some memorable music, especially the Human theme. I expect SC2 to have music on par or surpassing the spirit and style of SC.

i think there are way more people who want more of the awesome music from those 3 artists than people who dont want it I love the music so much that I got and started learning how to use mixing software to mix the original themes

I hope that Blizzard reproduce the excellence they have shown in the music of Diablo, Starcraft, Diablo II and Warcraft 3 for Starcraft II. Music I find is such an integral part of the game experience. Do it right, and it adds so much to the game, do it wrong, and it can seriously detract from a game that might be excellent otherwise. BTW, am I alone in thinking that the music in the original Diablo is simply some of the best game music ever conceived? Especially for the type of game it is.

The Zerg music = perfectly fits with the zerg style. A bit creepy. Second best ever! The Protoss music = .....rather boring...

As for StarCraft, it's music is wondrous. It's not precisely dramatic or mind-blowing, but it pleases the ear and you never get bored with it. That's the best qualitative measure of a soundtrack when you're up to play 1000+ hours of something. While some changes (new themes, abit more dynamic, probably, but only abit) are welcome, music is something that SC had close to perfect, so approach this with care. Warcraft III's soundtrack, on the contrary, was pretty mediocre. Imo, some of the tracks were too ambient. A striking theme is something an RTS sountrack shouldn't aim for, but Warcraft III Orc tracks seemed to lack any theme at all. TFT had better music (ahh, the NE theme for TFT was in fact really cool), but still, War III with it's addon scores lower than BW in terms of music for my liking. And please no heroic themes. FFS please. StarCraft is a sci-fi cruel world with treachery, deceit and lack of morals behind every corner, with good and evil undefined. We really don't need Independence Day-like cheap heroical music themes here, really, it will ruin the atmoshpere. This comes from hearing the music in the trailers and on Blizzard's site. I don't need anything epic, just give me my shuttle and reaver and some rock'n'roll in the earphones.

It can make up for bad gameplay really. I don't care too much for graphics since I don't like modern all 3d games, I'm more a oldscholl draw graphics or izometric(pre-rendered is ok, but drawn owns). War2 music was awesome I remember I had those midi's and an old AWE64 card with it's awesome midi synthesis... Made all those all midi music in all those old games(War2, Heroes2, Bermuda Syndrome, Tyrian...) like 300% better. Too bad it was only isa, but still I have it stored in old pc as a reminder. ... Diablo 2 music rox especially in act 5 those 3-4 orchestral songs are just art.
