Maybe life betted on others games and not himself? Or maybe he has a terrible gamble addiction and he needed that money because all of his money is already gone?
Unless you can verify something like that, I don't think posts like this are super useful to the discussion.

I hope this is not true!
It was already very, sad that YoDa had to quit. Life would be such a loss for the scene.

The report clearly states that he received money for match-fixing.

I guess that's who he was talking about. I'm sort of worried that Life is merely the tip of a larger iceberg. Like, is this the start of the unraveling that Olimoley and others hinted at all those months ago? Have they finally built up cases to go after a lot of the really big fish and Life is just the first of many to come? This honestly has all sorts of terrible ramifications.
No. Olimoley`s case does not fit, because she just spread words without certain proofs.
I`m not saying matchfixing issue is an pink elephant; someone might get tempted (regardless of the choice) even at this very minute.
However, if you want to accuse someone/something, be accurate unless you are just trying to draw some attentions from people.

If you're going to make a post like this, please provide definitive proof. "He said this about Life" doesn't mean anything unless you can provide a credible source.

True sAviOr of my Life, too. I think I can focus on my work now. Who can focus on work with all this drama in the air? The one who`s gonna quit following this scene? I dunno. But I put up with sAviOr, Prime and Sonic`s flaunting. And we got Life. I`m wondering if there`s any value left to follow this scene. I don't understand this logic. If you love sc2 and watching high level tournaments, then matchfixing won't suddenly make you not love sc2. Maybe you watch the games with a more open mind. Obviously, if convicted, I've lost respect for Life as a person. But as a player I still think he is one of the greatest and nothing can take that from him. You don't win multiple gsl by throwing matches. Are you kidding? I'm seriously questioning if I'll ever watch Korean SC2 again at this point. If players of a high enough profile like LIFE are allegedly taking part, then how can we ever be sure the matches we've watched in the past or watch in the future are legit? This is a huge deal. It casts a huge cloud over the entire legitimacy of the game itself. So far the only players involved in any sort of SC2 match-fixing are old school ESF players that sort of lack professionalism compared to Kespa teams. I know that life was on KT but that was a very recent thing, relatively speaking. I dont think any player who spent their whole career on KT, SKT, Jin Air, or Samsung will be implicated in this way, and right now these are basically all of the best players on the scene anyways. The other thing is that match-fixing really happens more in games that seemingly dont matter as much, like random proleague matches, low-rounds in bigger tourneys, or in smaller tourneys that have a small prize pool. I don't think anyone is insane enough to throw a GSL Ro8 match, for example. Seems like you're profiling anyone who wasn't on a KeSPA team before to be a potential match fixer. Being on KeSPA doesn't suddenly make you a innocent little flower.
Seems like you're putting words in my mouth. I just feel that it would be a lot more difficult for criminals to penetrate these old KeSPA teams that have dealt with a cripping match-fixing scandal in their past and had to adapt. This is compared to ESF where the scene was created in an instant from nothing except juicy GSL/WCS money and one of the people involved in match-fixing was a coach who probably pressured his players into it.

Thankfully we still have a healthy foreign scene to follow. I prefer dramas based on personalities rather than on crime.

Don't let the door hit ya on the way out!

This convo between Kenzi and Choya might say that a suspected match was one on Merry-Go-Round, unless Bing translate sucks even more than I think it does

Yeah I think the second part doesn't help and is without any foundation.
But the part about him being a gambler, is quite well known I think?
I don't even know from where, but I know about it. I think it's been said multiple times that he loves to gamble. Probably just mentioned during casts by the commentators? Lots of them love to gamble too.
Doesn't have any connection to match-fixing though imo. I still hope he was underage back then and was forced to do it or something :/.

This is depressing. Prime I don't care about and didn't think it was that big a deal, but Life...

I can't imagine, you turning 18, and them putting you through juvenile court because you were 17 when the crime was comitted.
That being said, let's say a crime has a 3 year statute, I can't imagine them charging you as an adult for something you did as a minor 2 1/2 years ago.
Anyway, this news has made me really sad. The other cases of match fixing never really affected me because I wasn't invested in them, and they to me, were lower echelon players. I guess this is the betrayal people felt with savior.

Man wtf. It's not like he needs the money, so this just makes him extra assholey.

FUUUUCK dude. If he comes out guilty this looks so bad for all of Starcraft. Not only that, but the guy is only 18. This is awful news for the korean scene in general.
On a personal level I loved Life as a player so much. He's the only korean I've kept caring about all those years. Let's just hope he's innocent.

Yeah, is it known when he supposedly received money for match-fixing?
Also can somebody tell us if Korean age or the "normal/global" age counts in Korea for these things?
Basically, is Korean age the legal age in Korea? I feel embarassed asking this lol.
