In the US, fixing any kind of televised competition (including game shows, reality shows, etc.) is illegal. That law was created after there were a bunch of fixed game shows in the 50's. I don't think there are similar laws everywhere, though... Reality shows should be illegal then. Reality shows aren't real... but if the showing of reality isn't real, then the showing of reality isn't the showing of reality, thus the showing of reality is the showing of fiction, and reality is fiction what is this world we live in In the end what is real? Lets kick in all the matrix theories.

I am very much missing whatever part of this makes sense. In my experience, people do things that make sense - to them, at least. If something seems insane, it's almost always because some jigsaw piece is hidden.
Life is the guy in SC2. If you were going to pick someone to be in Starcraft, it would probably be him. There are a lot of talented players, but when all's said and done, nobody has subverted the idea of what a race should play like more profoundly than him. Zergs don't love Life because he wins, they love him because WHEN he wins, he makes it look like his opponents have completely missed the point.
If he has done this terrible thing, then I flat out don't get it. It's like James Dean going down for tax evasion. I think I mostly don't want it to be true because whatever jigsaw piece completes this picture, I lose.

Exactly. But most of them are treated as game shows. What makes them any different from a fixed game show from the 50's? Especially considering some of them have you call in or vote and crap on it... Has viewers spending real money on them.

Well there are tons and tons of hypothetical reasons that would make sense to explain his potential matchfixing : -Him feeling that he wasn't as dominant as before, thus it was the right time to gain money through matchfixing -Him having spent all his $$$ in gambling/parties/whatever, thus being in need for money -Even worse, him having actually contracted debts doing the forementioned activities, leading to him being really in need for money -Simple, pure greed (ie more money is always better), as is common in human beings -Him being blackmailed by criminal organizations into matchfixing -Him having developed an habit of using opportunities, whether they are legal or not -Him being persuaded that the Korean scene was going to die soon, thus that he had to make big money in a short time frame -Him having decided to retire in less than two years, thus that he had to make big money in a short time frame -etc

Agreed. It has basically turned into a general discussion. Keep getting my hopes up that there's news.
