Because I love watching I often get an itch to play after watching, so I also get periods of intense gaming and then periods of only watching.
Why do you still play StarCraft? - Page 5

Let's be fair, as much as I loved HotS, it was an extremely stale game at times, especially if you played P. PvT and PvP were extremely boring if you liked variety, you were pretty much forced to play some blink into colossi style in PvT and past the coinflippy early game, PvP was atrocious (though I had a lot of fun with Classic's style, incorporating a void ray squad to my colossi army). PvZ was a blast to play though (not much to watch once blink sentry styles got prevalent sadly). LotV has a lot of potential if you ask me, probably more than HotS due to the mineral change which I think will turn out to be a good move. The tweaks that need to be done are rather obvious (good maps, nerfing some units), and even in the current state I'm having a lot of fun. It's a very taxing game, and a bit of a blank page timings / bo wise, which I like.

2. No stupid teammates, ability to participate in tournaments without having a team. 3. Highest skill cap. 4. Definitely the best game to watch! 5. I grew up with SC:BW and WC3. 6. Very fast games compared to all other competitive scenes. 7. Training for WC4!

1v1 and team games are an added bonus sprinkled in between, there aren't any other games that keep me coming back quite like SC2.

As much as I dislike the direction they went with void, I'll still be playing and watching for as long as I can.

I started playing again with Lotv. I still don't have a lot of fun but executing a plan perfectly gives a sense of success(a build order, reaper harass, marine drop etc) It feels like i am playing starbow or something though, every build is different from what i remember. I have severe ladder anxiety but my current goal is playing 4 games every single day. Even if i lose every single one of them i learn a lot. And to stay on topic, my reasons are: 1-) The sense of success by executing a plan perfectly/as well as possible 2-) The feeling of progression over a long time

There's something truly sick about the ladder of SC2, which is why it can never be a casual game. Seriously, though, I would play team games like Heroes of the Storm, but I hate team format. There's nothing that frustrates me more in competition than watching my team lose due to some jackass that can't work with a team/doesn't know the game. SC doesn't have that problem, although it can be more personally frustrating, because when you lose, it's all on you.

Yes, the game is way too stressfull and knowing that I only won because opponent was really bad.

For me the game makes me use my brain in a way I don't normally use it in in everyday life (work, family, etc.) and I love that! Brain exercise in a unique and extremely challenging way. Pure fun. Even if I lose.
