I think the excitement of the upcoming changes that DO have the potential to improve the game should not blind us and that we should remain critical of very bad ideas. Then again, I am confident two things will happen :
- LotV won't be that different of the other games. There will be big changes for sure, but the overall feeling will remain. Maybe our current builds will be thrown away, but does it really matter ? The mechanics will remain the same. - It will be good.

Several of the changes are very obviously improvements from a unit design perspective. Almost across the board they are creating more opportunity for micro, counterplay, and diversity of strategies. Some of the other changes are questionable, like the current economy implementation, but the important thing is that Blizzard is listening to the community and attempting radical changes at all. As long as they stay on the right track during the beta and hammer out the problems, this can only be good for the game.

Exactly. If they just keep listening to the pros and the community during the beta we could have a great game -and it won't be what they showed those last two days ! But we should be optimistic !

The only thing we can say to you then is, we're sorry, the game is changing, you can see the bright side and try to give it a chance or be bitter about it and simply stop playing, thats up to you, but I think it would be really bad that you stop playing a game you love just because you aren't open to change

I think you're overestimating what will change in the end. People don't want to make it worse than it is. Bad changes will go. Remember first announcement of HotS ? I was dismayed. In the end, HotS was amazing. If LotV is as great as what we saw was appalling, man, better than BW !

But people still play, watch and stream BW no? Why shouldnt this be able with HOTS, when people would like it more than LotV? There were many people (including me) that liked WoL more than Hots and thought the same about its units when they released the beta. They also either stuck with the game or switched over or abandoned sc2 alltogether. Some may come back for LotV again who knows. either way what seemed unfair to them now is the same thing you feel now and it isnt agood argument to stale the game further.

What is your issue here? Keep in mind that balance whine isn't valid since these units haven't gone through beta testing and revision yet.

I agree with you. The amount that will be changed drastically in the end is far less huge than what people seem to think.

you play protoss sated?
Since the changes to protoss seems underhelming to say the least. Why dont u want a change? I mean, you dont want more control over your units? You dont want more relevant decisions to make? More micro interactions?

Of course the units are going to go through beta testing and revision. I'm saying that what's announced so far is terrible. For example, what the fuck is the Cyclone? It's clearly imbalanced. How anyone at Blizzard thought it was okay to show that unit in its current state makes me have a very small/non-existent amount of faith in their ability to do anything properly. Yes, it could and probably will be changed, but I said "currently announced" for a reason. The units aren't the main problem though. That Blizzard want to change core mechanics like the number of workers you start with or how fast bases turnover their economy worries me greatly. I like how economy currently works in SC2 a lot. I think the flow works well, I think that a lot of playstyles are viable and that the game tends to be very exciting despite constant (massively incorrect) whining about people "turtling" on three bases. I wouldn't watch it if I didn't fine it exciting. It feels like Blizzard are trying to get new players into the game at the expense of people who like how it is now and I don't like that. It's a slap in the face to those who are passionate about the game in its current state.
But that is subjective isnt it? What is good and what is bad for the game? So this hasnt to do with competence of Blizzard. If they would say we implement a flying collossi that shoots 8 lasers, then you would have a point. But so far it is I dont like unit X. I dont like that Y part of the game is beeing changed and that it is good how Y is now, despite all the people thinking otherwise.
Also many decade loyal BW players considered SC2 a slap in their face.

The rate at which bases are exhausted will not stay. Even hardcore eco reformists don't want it like that. The number of workers you start with don't seem to change a lot. I'm confident the most retarded changes won't even make it to the closed beta. Once again, remember HotS first announcement, weren't you worried ? And was HotS bad ? I'm ready to bet you'll love LotV.

I'm very happy to see major changes to the game, I consider HoTS to be less fun than WoL and worse designed. Hopefully this expansion is enough to bring me back to Starcraft, because I can't enjoy this game in it's current state.

And yes you should be happy because you can still continue to play HOTS if you dont like change. It's not just about playing the game. I also really enjoy watching the game. It's pretty clear that the pro-scene will move on to LotV when it comes out and so telling me that I can still play HotS is very silly. So no I am not happy. I think the current announced changes and units are a travesty. The only thing we can say to you then is, we're sorry, the game is changing, you can see the bright side and try to give it a chance or be bitter about it and simply stop playing, thats up to you, but I think it would be really bad that you stop playing a game you love just because you aren't open to change I'd also stop playing football if they changed the ball to a rugby ball. That's how bad I think these changes are. No joke. It's not about being open to change. I expect the game to change with an expansion. What I do not expect is for them to rip out the spine of the game. I saw a tvp LotV today: the first 3 minutes were different. The rest was MMM+vikings vs collossiball. Maybe because players were completely unfamiliar with the new stuff

Perhaps. To be fair though its the same composition that was around in sc2 WOL.

There is very little I dislike about the game right now, and certainly nothing that needs a massive overhaul. I think the current announced changes and units are a travesty. What part of the following do you consider a travesty? - Lurkers, one of the best-designed units in BW? - Ravagers, an early game answer to Force Fields, with a micro-intensive ability that allows for counterplay? - Viable Carriers and Nydus Worms? - Removal of a redundant spell from the Oracle for a more interesting one? - Swarm Hosts that no longer draw out games into stalemates? - New units and abilities that can make for more interesting Mech play from Terran? What is your issue here? Keep in mind that balance whine isn't valid since these units haven't gone through beta testing and revision yet. What part of "currently announced" don't you understand? I wouldn't watch it if I didn't find it exciting, and if anyone else here does watch/is passionate about current SC2 without finding it exciting then I'd question their sanity slightly. Frankly, it feels like Blizzard are trying to get new players into the game with flashy bullshit at the expense of people who like how it is now and I don't like that. It's a slap in the face to those who are passionate about the game in its current state. Read the last sentence of my previous post again and then stop crying.
Also do yourself a favor and search up the discussions on the differences between the SC2 economy and the BW economy. One is clearly superior in terms of giving us better games, and you get two guesses as to which it is, and it's not SC2. The new LotV economy attempts to address that. It also pretty much fails completely, but the point is that an attempt is being made by Blizzard. The point of these changes is that they're listening. If we can get them on the right track, we might actually finally have the game SC2 should have been from the outset.
